Publication number: 20050114974Abstract: In a set of protective gear for a firefighter or for an emergency worker, a helmet is covered by an aluminized cover, which is joined to an aluminized shroud along an uninterrupted juncture, so as to eliminate any gap between the shroud and the cover, where the cover is joined to the shroud. In a preferred embodiment, the uninterrupted juncture is defined by a permanent seam, which is sewn and which may be sealed by an adhesive sealant so as to be fluid-impervious. Being uninterrupted, the seam impedes and, if sealed by an adhesive sealant, blocks infiltration of heat, water, gases, or smoke between the shroud and the cover. In an alternative embodiment, cover and the shroud have common region including the uninterrupted juncture, the common region being aluminized. The common region blocks infiltration of heat, water, gases, or smoke between the shroud and the cover.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 2, 2003Publication date: June 2, 2005Inventors: William Grilliot, Mary Grilliot

Publication number: 20050115019Abstract: A low insertion force seating grommet assembly (10a) has a hollow body (12) arrayed along a longitudinal axis (14). The body (12) has a wide end (16) and a narrow end (18) connected by an intermediate portion (20). The narrow end (18) has a cylindrical aperture (18a) and the wide end (16) has a cup-shaped aperture (16a). A flange (22) surrounds the wide end (16) and is provided with a wall-opening engaging portion (24). Longitudinally extending relief grooves (26) are formed on the internal surface (28) of the cup-shaped aperture (18a). A cable (32) is frictionally engaged in the cylindrical aperture and penetrates the cup-shaped aperture. A cover (30) closes the cup-shaped aperture. The cable enters the cover along the longitudinal axis and exits the cover at an angle of 90 degrees relative to the longitudinal axis.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2005Publication date: June 2, 2005Applicant: OSRAM SYLVANIA INC.Inventors: John Sanroma, Glenn Freeman

Publication number: 20050115020Abstract: This support is particularly designed for the front wheel of a three-wheeled pushchair and is characterized in that it is made up by an arm being laterally arranged with respect to the wheel, said arm being upperly elbowed above said wheel and having a mudguard solidly attached to the lower end of said elbowed portion. This lateral arm has an appendage to which the active portion of a disc brake is solidly attached, said active portion being apt to be actuated by a rope passing through the inside of said arm and emerging through a hole of said arm to thereupon engage said active portion of the brake. The lower end of the lateral arm comprises the control belonging to the means allowing to remove the wheel from the corresponding axle.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2004Publication date: June 2, 2005Applicant: Jane, S.A.Inventor: Manuel Jane Santamaria

Publication number: 20050115021Abstract: An office chair caster has a wheel holder, a wheel body, a spindle seat and a spindle. Make a first base and a second base oppositely joined together to form the wheel holder with retaining pieces of the second base inserted into fitting slots of the first base, and make the spindle seat that is extended through by the spindle inserted into through holes of the first and second bases with engagement protuberances of the spindle seat aligned with engagement grooves of the second base. The spindle seat can be rotated at 90 degree to make the engagement protuberances impelled over projections of the first base, stopped by stop blocks of the first base, engaged in sliding slots of the second base, and limited between the projections and the stop blocks without moving, thereby the spindle seat can be firmly fixed in the wheel holder to hold the spindle securely.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 1, 2003Publication date: June 2, 2005Inventor: Po-Chuan Tsai

Publication number: 20050115022Abstract: A novel furniture leg glide is disclosed for reducing a screeching sound made by a furniture leg being dragged across a floor. The furniture leg glide is formed from a hollow body portion having an end cap disposed thereon with a flexible coupling formed along the hollow body portion between first and second ends thereof. A piece of felt type material is bonded to the end cap and the flexible coupling permits the piece of felt type material to contact the floor when the furniture leg is angularly displaced in relation to the floor within a predetermined number of degrees. The flexible coupling flexes and compresses in relation to the angular movement of the furniture leg. In accordance with another embodiment of the invention a furniture leg glide is provided for attaching to a furniture leg having a swivel base furniture leg glide disposed thereon.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2004Publication date: June 2, 2005Inventor: Pierre Desmarais
