Abstract: Dyed yarns typically have inferior color fastness compared with pigmented yarns. However, dyeing offers a virtually infinite selection of colors, flexibility and more uniformity than constructions of pigmented yarns in residential carpet and other yarn applications, such as apparel. It has been found that relatively small amounts of pigment (10 to 1000 ppm) incorporated into polymeric fibers, and particularly nylon fibers used in carpets, creates lightly pigmented yarns which, when overdyed, are highly uniform and have a higher degree of apparent dye light fastness compared to normal dyed yarns. This effect is observable for both anionic and cationic polyamide polymers, and dyeing of these slightly pigmented yarns can be conducted to produce yarns of almost any color of greater depth than the base yarn.

Abstract: In the floor cleaning industry to have a battery powered machine that can quickly remove dirt and wax build up from edges of floor would revolutionize the way floors are stripped, scrubbed, and buffed. The splash guard would eliminate any floor cleaning agents from contaminating shelved goods. The unique hinge system allows the brush or pad to travel under stationary objects. With no cord to deal with floor jobs would move along faster with higher quality and less risk of injury. The quick release piece would allow user to switch from brush to pad rapidly not losing valuable time on the job. Current methods of cleaning edges, and hard to get to areas are limited to manual operations. This machine offers a power tool with a rechargeable battery adjustable to both right and left handed users.

Abstract: A cleaning device that may have a body forming a multifunctional plastic receptacle and that may incorporate features providing easy peel back of one turn of depleted adhesive coated sheet material in the cleaning device and facilitating a neat tearing away of the depleted material. In a preferred embodiment, the body is formed of two body members hinged together to substantially fully enclose a roll of adhesive coated sheet material when snapped closed, and when snapped open, to form a continuous handle-like portion. The roll is slit at one end, which when a full turn of depleted material is peeled back, will allow the slit to align with a sharp, molded-in edge of one of the body members to facilitate tearing off the depleted material, starting at the slit. This also facilitates folding the free end to a double thickness for later easy peel back of the next turn.

Abstract: A masonry tuck point tool has a plurality of tuck blades pivotally attached at one end. Among the tuck blades is a selected tuck blade that has the desired width of the grout or mortar joint to be formed. There are also at lease one remaining tuck blade. All tuck blades have a distinct blade width and similar blade lengths. The selected tuck blade is pivoted approximately 180 degrees away from the remaining tuck blades thereby allowing the remaining tuck blades to be used as a handle at the one end while the opposite end of the selected tuck blade is used to strike a grout or mortar joint between two adjacent masonry elements.

Abstract: A disposable toothbrush that can folded and unfolded upon it self is shown and described. The toothbrush is constructed of two folding sections that each contain bristles each half can join to the other half and so provide a rigid toothbrush for brushing. Prior to use, the toothbrush is in the unfolded position so that the bristles in each of the brush lie flat. This orientation presents a toothbrush with very narrow width for ease of storage.

Abstract: A windshield-wiper system for a motor vehicle with a wiper-blade carrier, a wiper blade held on the wiper-blade carrier, which wiper blade has an elastically flexible wiper element, includes a heating mechanism for the wiper blade. The wiper-blade carrier has at least one wall section which conducts heat in sections, and which is operatively connected heat-conductingly or heat-transmittingly to the wiper element and/or the wiper blade. At least one cooling-medium line of a cooling-medium cycle of a drive motor of the motor vehicle, which cooling-medium line consists of a heat-conducting material, is laid along the wall section.

Abstract: A side wall 51 provided with a coupling hole 50 coupled to the dust transporting pipe 6 of a dust chamber 5 is configured in a sloped shape so as to have a predetermined angle ? with respect to the bottom surface of the dust chamber. A photo detector 14 having a light receiving surface along the surface 51 is disposed near the coupling hole 50 of the side wall 51. A photo diode 15 for irradiating light toward the photo detector 14 is disposed on the upper surface of the dust chamber 5. When dust is filled within the dust chamber 5, since dust is accumulated on the photo detector 14, the photo detector 14 does not outputs a light detection signal.

An output signal of the microphone 20, that is, a voltage signal of amplitude according to sound volume of the inside of the dust transporting pipe 6 picked is inputted to a controller 10. Initial amplitude according to sound volume of the inside of the dust transporting pipe 6 in the case of sucking dust in a state in which there is no dust inside a dust chamber 5 at all and the amount of change in amplitude indicating what amount amplitude changes from the initial amplitude in the case that the dust chamber 5 becomes full of dust are previously stored in the controller 10.

Abstract: A washer and vacuum system having a vacuum unit that discharges and intakes gas, usually air. A washer unit discharges liquid, usually water. A tube selection system within a tube arrangement extending from said vacuum unit enables the vacuum unit to selectively intake air, or discharge air. The washer unit is indirectly connected to a water discharge hose. The water discharge hose has a portion that is disposed within said vacuum hose. The water discharge hose extends through said vacuum hose, having a distal end disposed outside of said vacuum hose. The water discharge hose has a distal end for the removable connection of various accessories. The vacuum hose has a distal end for the removable connection of various accessories. The washer and vacuum unit can be disposed in a casing for easy transport. Or it can be hard wired into a vehicle, such as a boat.
