  • Publication number: 20050193616
Abstract: The fishing rod strike sensor provides an audible and visual indication of a fish striking a hook or lure suspended from a fishing rod by a fishing line. A flexible sensor, such as a flexible resistor, extends along the fishing rod, flexing along with the fishing rod. As the sensor flexes, an electrical characteristic of the sensor, such as its resistance, changes according to the degree of flex. An electronic circuit activates an alarm when the electrical characteristic varies beyond a threshold. The electrical circuit is adjustable to set the alarm threshold. A “window” threshold is employed whereby an alarm can be sounded both when a fish pulls on the line when taking the hook, and when a fish takes the hook in a manner that decreases the pull on the line.

The fishing line guide includes embossed surfaces or recesses and protrusions continuously formed in the respective inner circumferences of the fishing line guide rings to reduce the frictional area between the fishing line and the fishing line guide rings and to increase the surface area of the inner circumferences of the fishing line guide rings.

One or more shoulders are provided in the surfaces of the flexible fishing lure tails to facilitate the swimming action as the lure to which the tail or appendage is attached is retrieved through a water body. This swimming action due to the vibration of the tail and appendage segment and the body of the fishing lure is unique and simulates live lizards, worms, crawfish, grubs, minnows and the like, a primary characteristic that attracts fish. The tail and appendage segments can be removably or permanently fixed to both hard and soft body lures or molded in combination with a lure body of selected length, size, color and plastic composition characteristics to facilitate the desired swimming action and vibration and thus the attraction to game fish of every variety.

Abstract: A bait container for storing bait in water incorporates a perforated carriage that slides vertically within a housing. Raising the carriage extracts the bait from the water and obviates the need to immerse a hand in cold water. A post extends upward from the carriage. A door can be moved in a vertical plane to cover an access opening. A rigid link is fixed to the door and extends inward to pass through a slot in the post. The slot locks the door, raises the door, and limits or prevents over-raising of the door. The post is free-sliding so as to cause the door to close unless held open, reducing the likelihood of bait egress. The door can be locked in a closed position using a rotatable latch arrangement to protect further against bait egress.

The extrusion units are stacked upon one another with their respective first ends proximate to one another, with their respective second ends proximate to one another, and with their respective longitudinal axes substantially parallel to one another. One end cap is affixed to the first ends of the stacked extrusion units, and the other end cap is affixed to the second ends of the stacked extrusion units.

Abstract: A shutter assembly for storm and security protection is disclosed. The shutter assembly mounts to a structure adjacent an opening in the structure. The assembly may include a mounting system comprising inserts for mounting into the structure, fasteners formed from a non-corrosive material inserted into the inserts, and plugs for insertion into the inserts to conceal the inserts within the structure. A protective element is positioned in a plane offset from the opening for protecting the opening from debris. A housing is positioned adjacent the opening and defines a cavity for housing the protective element therein. The housing is surface mounted to the structure such that the housing requires no major damage to the existing wall surface. A decorative shutter mounts to the housing for concealing the cavity and for improving aesthetics of the structure.

Abstract: Door jamb assemblies, and corresponding door assemblies, having elongate inserts received in cavities in corresponding jambs of the door assemblies. Structure and positioning of the insert acts to add stiffness to the jamb assembly. The jamb assembly is readily attached to a framing member of a building such that the jamb assembly moves in unison with movement of the building. Spacing blocks are preferably inserted into the cavity in the jamb, between the jamb face plate and the insert, such that the spacing blocks provide a collective mounting surface which receives the insert. When the door assembly is mounted using fasteners of the invention, further manipulation of the head of the fastener is ineffective to remove the door assembly from the building.

Abstract: Door jamb assemblies, and corresponding door assemblies, having anchors received in cavities in corresponding jambs of the door assemblies. Structure and positioning of the anchors acts to add stiffness, rigidity to the jamb assembly, as well as to facilitate mounting the door jamb assembly in a rough opening in a building. The jamb assembly is readily attached to a framing member of a building such that the jamb assembly moves in unison with movement of the building. When the door assembly is mounted using fasteners of the invention, further manipulation of the head of the fastener is ineffective to remove the door assembly from the building.

Abstract: The present invention is directed toward apparatus and methods for aligning and retaining a modular window trim assembly to an interior side of a wall opening. Embodiments of the invention incorporate a surround portion and a casing portion, and use an opposing pair of biased clip members to retain the trim assembly in the window opening and to automatically center the trim assembly therein. The biased clip members can be adapted to facilitate installation of the trim assembly and/or resist removal of the trim assembly from the window opening.

Abstract: The present invention introduces a raceway for association with a floor and a support of a structure to provide power or communications connectivity between the support and a location on the floor. The raceway includes a housing and a fastener. The housing, that is substantially equal in length to a distance between the location on the floor and the support, comprises a conduit and a sloping side. The conduit is adapted to receive one or more lines from the support, the one or more lines are capable of communicating signals to the location on the floor. The sloping side, that has a length substantially equal to a length of the raceway, provides a gradual transition between the floor and the raceway and is capable of being substantially covered by a floor cover. The fastener can be associated with the housing to at least substantially ensconce the one or more lines. The fastener and the housing are capable of cooperating to integrate the raceway and the floor cover.

Abstract: My invention is solely designed to save lives and to help to protect property from severe damage. It is designed to withstand temperatures up to 1000 degrees F. It will slow or even stop airflow inside the wall cavities. This in turn will give families to have more time to escape the structure without getting hurt or even losing there lives. This will also give firefighters more time to arrive on the scene. Soon, I hope to have my invention lower insurance rates to the homeowners and business owners. With less air moving in the wall cavities it will reduce the spread fire and smoke. This procedure is called fireblocking. My units are made of .024 gauge galvanized sheet metal with a G-60 coating. It will be very easily installed and inexpensive. These units are designed to be installed between each stud of a wall. These units will be used in future new construction and remodeling. These are codes approved by the Codes Inspectors and the Fire Chief here in middle Tennessee.
