Abstract: Flat rolled magnetic steel sheets and strip or a die is turned in the press forming process. Rotor cores are stacked with turning through an angle which is an odd number multiple of about (360°/(number of slots in the motor×natural number n×2) and stator cores are stacked with turning through an angle which is an odd number multiple of (360°/(number of poles in the motor×natural number n×2)). Stacking with turning through an angle which is an odd number multiple converts the phases of cogging torques into mutually opposite phases and cancels and reduces the cogging torque caused by magnetic anisotropy.

Abstract: A stator for a motor includes a stator core, an insulator, and coils. The stator core includes an annular portion and teeth, which extend radially from the annular portion. The stator core is divided into core segments in the circumferential direction. Each core segment has an arcuate portion and one of the teeth, which extends from the arcuate portion. The insulator insulates each coil wound around one of the teeth from the stator core. The insulator includes coupling portions at positions corresponding to the circumferential ends of the arcuate portions. Each coupling portion couples the adjacent core segments to be rotatable relative to each other. The insulator facilitates manufacture of the stator.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for insulating external surfaces of a multi-layer ceramic chip varistor device, wherein a high insulating material is coated on external surfaces of the device before the device's external electrodes are plated in an electroplating process. Then after a heat treatment process, the high insulating material reacts with the device's ceramic body surface material to form an insulating layer. A conventional electroplating process for chip devices can be applied to plate the device's external electrodes with a layer of soldering interface so that the external electrodes have a better solderability. The insulating layer protects the device's ceramic body from being plated and the external electrodes are not short-circuited to cause device failure.

The intermediate portion is positioned between the outer portion and the body of the level and is securely fastened to the outer portion. In addition, the intermediate portion provides greater resilient compressibility than the outer portion so that the end cap is better adapted to absorb impacts to the outer portion and thereby prevent damage to the level. Preferably, the outer portion has a profile matching the body profile at the end of the level and the intermediate portion forms a serrated intermediate profile to facilitate compression of the end cap. Also preferred is where the end cap includes an inner portion with less resilient compressibility than the intermediate portion.

Abstract: A flexible measuring tape is extended from a predetermined location on a face a predetermined distance to a location on a scalp. A 2 cm by 2 cm square bundle of hair about that location is isolated. The bundle of isolated hair is captured in a slit in a two-part cartridge, one part being slidable in the other part about a changeable length slit 1 mm wide. The cartridge is placed in an “L” shaped end of a plunger extending from a first end of a body of a measuring device. The plunger is drawn into the body of the device to compress the hair in the changeable length slit as the two parts of the cartridge are pushed together between an end of the “L” and the first end of the body. A spring is provided on the plunger between a second end of the body of the device and an inner end of a knob at an outer end of the plunger.

Abstract: A probe head for a coordinate measuring machine has a stylus resiliently suspended in a housing. A sensor arrangement serves for detecting deflections of the stylus relative to the housing. The sensor arrangement comprises at least one Hall sensor having a magnet and a Hall element arranged in a vicinity to each other. When the stylus is deflected, the magnet is laterally passed by the Hall element in a direction defined from the North Pole to the South Pole of the magnet or vice versa. A Hall voltage of changing polarity can be tapped at the Hall element then. A preferably linear range around the polarity change is processed in order to determine the deflection of the stylus.

Abstract: The craft stencil provides a fast, simple, and convenient way of marking a pattern onto the surface of a workpiece. Useful for, among other tasks, marking a temporary pattern onto a piece of cloth to guide stitching for a needlecraft, the craft stencil is an open mesh material having a coating applied to close the mesh of selected regions of the material, defining a pattern in the uncoated portions. In use, the craft stencil is placed on the surface of the workpiece, and a marking powder is applied to the workpiece surface through open areas in the craft stencil. Guidelines in the stencil transfer registration marks and directional arrows to the workpiece surface along with the pattern in order to assist in aligning the craft stencil and in correctly following the pattern while stitching.
