Abstract: A stepping motor stator stack and rotor stack finishing method whereby the burrs remaining on the small tooth surfaces of the stacks can be eliminated and prevented from lodging in the spaces between laminations of a plurality of stacked steel plates, without causing dulling of these small teeth. After abrasive finishing is carried out, a high pressure liquid jet spray nozzle is introduced into the central cylindrical cavity of a stator stack, and while the nozzle is moved along the central axis of the central cylindrical cavity and rotated relatively centered on the central axis of the central cylindrical cavity, the high pressure liquid jet is sprayed from the jet orifices striking the small tooth surfaces of the stator stack facing the central cylindrical cavity so as to remove the burrs remaining on the small tooth surfaces.

Abstract: An apparatus, a system and a method are provided to separate a gear from a shaft. The apparatus, the system and the method implement a base plate, a handle, a face plate, a first fastener, a second fastener, and/or a press. The gear is attached to a shaft of a motor. The fasteners connect and/or attach the face plate to the base plate. The fasteners extend through a passage in the gear. The gear is positioned between the face plate and the base plate which abuts a backside of the gear. The press is inserted into a central hole of the face plate and/or abuts a second side of the gear. The base plate maintains the gear in a stationary position with respect to the face plate and/or the press. The press engages the shaft and/or pulls the gear inward with respect to the face plate. As a result, a first side of the base plate moves the gear inward with respect to the face plate.

Abstract: An optical diffusion plate applied for a direct-type backlight module and its manufacturing method are proposed complied with the present invention. By using the extrution technique, an extruder is used to extrude an optical diffusion plate. In case the material of the optical diffusion plate is changed, the texture of the roller should also be changed so that a prism array with a vertex angle corresponding to the refractive index of the material can be formed on the diffusion plate. Thereby, via the refractive index and the angle of the prism structure, the plate having a saw structure can change the propagation directions of the diffused light beams so as to focus the light beams, reduce the loss of the light and enhance the brightness. Besides, by disposing a one- or two-dimensional structure on the optical diffusion plate, the present invention needn't use the horizontal and vertical prism sheets simultaneously.

Abstract: A method is provided for preserving the transverse biasing of a GMR (or MR) read head during back-end processing. In a first preferred embodiment, the method comprises magnetizing the longitudinal biasing layers of the read head in a transverse direction, so that the resulting field at the position of the transverse biasing layer places it in a minimum of potential energy which stabilizes its direction. The field of the longitudinal biasing layer is then reset to the longitudinal direction in a manner which maintains the transverse biasing direction. In a second embodiment, a novel fixture for mounting the read head during processing includes a magnetic portion which stabilizes the transverse bias of the read head. The two methods may be used singly or in combination.

Abstract: An improved spoon apparatus and method includes a handle portion carrying a spoon bowl portion. The spoon bowl is clutched non-rotationally to the handle portion during a scooping motion to load the spoon bowl with food. At the initiation of the food scooping motion, essentially immediate clutching of the spoon bowl to the handle portion is effected by a fine-dimension ratchet structure of the inventive spoon. However, as soon as the scooping motion is completed by clearing of the spoon bowl from the food, the bowl portion is unclutched from the handle portion and becomes freely pivotal like a pendulum so as to remain level from side to side irrespective of rotation of the handle portion as a user moves the loaded spoon to the user's mouth. A unique combination of gravitationally induced torque as well as a gravitational force vector are utilized to effect unclutching of the spoon bowl from the handle portion.

Abstract: A lightweight, small size, high sensitivity gauge for indirectly measuring displacement or absolute gap width by measuring axial strain in an orthogonal direction to the displacement/gap width. The gap gauge includes a preferably titanium base having a central tension bar with springs connecting opposite ends of the tension bar to a pair of end connector bars, and an elongated bow spring connected to the end connector bars with a middle section bowed away from the base to define a gap. The bow spring is capable of producing an axial strain in the base proportional to a displacement of the middle section in a direction orthogonal to the base. And a strain sensor, such as a Fabry-Perot interferometer strain sensor, is connected to measure the axial strain in the base, so that the displacement of the middle section may be indirectly determined from the measurement of the axial strain in the base.

Abstract: A tape measure is formed of a flexible substrate having one or more scales with regularly spaced markings thereon and an adhesive disposed on at least one side thereof to allow the flexible substrate to be temporarily fixed to a surface, such as to a wall. This tape measure may be affixed to a surface to be measured and left in position while other activities take place, such as drilling holes, hanging pictures, etc. The flexible substrate is made of a material that easily accepts writing or marks from conventional pens or pencils to enable a user to mark a particular location on the tape measure substrate when the substrate is attached to the surface being measured without marking the surface itself. Later, if desired, the tape measure substrate, with the markings thereon, may be removed and disposed of. This tape measure is easy to use, because it can be fixed to a surface to be measured and stays in place while the user performs other steps, such as marking, drilling, nailing, etc.

Abstract: In a method of drying a water-damaged building with the aid of drying plant (1) that includes a drying rotor (2) or some other other device which delivers dry air to the drying process, and a high-pressure turbine or a fan (3) for transportation of air, the turbine (3) is caused, alternatively, to press dry air into a water-damaged space (10a) in the building (10) or to suck moist air from such a space. In these operational modes, the turbine (3) co-acts with means, e.g. pipes (4, 5) and/or valve-equipped conduits (e.g. 7; 15) which facilitate switching between the two disparate operational modes. The invention also relates to drying plant that functions in accordance with the inventive method.

The pressurized non-reactive gas spray device is disposed partially within a tub and partially within a wafer bath vessel housing a wafer to be dried. The tub has a vent port for allowing the drying liquid fog to pass into the wafer bath vessel to adhere to exposed wafer surfaces and displace remaining liquid on wafer surfaces, thus drying the wafer. The tub may further include a drain for draining drying liquid not converted into the fog or which has condensed. The vent also may include means for retaining larger drying liquid fog particles which allows smaller drying liquid fog particles to pass into the wafer bath vessel.

Abstract: Sole Savers, shoe inserts, provide a sanitary rather than therapeutic use which makes them inexpensive and unique in the area of shoe inserts. They are composed of a soft cotton or similar material with a soft and pliable underside for maximum comfort. The insert can easily be cut to size with a scissor. The underside of the inserts are lined by a thin sheet of paper; the thin paper once removed leaves a sticky residue on the backside of the sole saver so that it can easily be inserted and adhere to any shoe, men's or women's, or children, no matter what the size or shape of the shoe. They will be produced in such a way that they will not be visible when the shoe is worn and they can easily be detached and discarded for new inserts without damaging the sole of the shoe.
