Abstract: A terminal for the guideway transit includes: an entry section at which a plurality of pilot lines of the guideway is divided into branches; an entering/alighting section for allowing passengers to enter into/from a vehicle after the vehicle moves to the entering/alighting section along the pilot lines and stops at the entering/alighting section; a U-turn section for allowing the vehicle at the entering/alighting section to perform U-turn; and a parking section connected at one side to the U-turn section and having an external entry formed at the other side. The dual-mode vehicle that possibly operates on the general road and the guideway can enter the guideway through the external entry of the terminal, and most vehicles used in high-frequency service in a high carry capacity, can be parked at the parking lot in the outside through the external entry, greatly reducing the size of the terminal.

The middle layer forms between 45% and 75% of the overall material of the board and enables the board to be manufactured to be more dimensionally stable, i.e., wider and longer, than conventional hardwood flooring boards. Also the use of the non-hardwood material in the middle layer greatly increases the dimensional stability and long term performance of the flooring boards, while providing a genuine hardwood appearance to the floor. The differential pressure considerably decreases or considerably increases due to breakage or plugging of the DPF in an exhaust emission control device. The abnormality in the DPF is evaluated when a large deviation arises between a PM amount calculated in accordance with differential pressure, which is between the front and the rear of the DPF, and a PM amount calculated through integration of a PM discharge amount measured in accordance with an engine operating state. Abstract: An exhaust manifold has a head flange constructed for receiving at least two exhaust pipes arranged side-by-side, and includes spaced apart first and second longitudinal flange portions. A mounting assembly is provided for sealingly securing the exhaust manifold to a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine and includes a mounting rail formed with a shoulder which laps over the first longitudinal flange portion and contacts the first longitudinal flange portion in a spring-elastic manner. Plural screw fasteners at least indirectly clamp the second longitudinal flange portion to the cylinder head.

Abstract: A torque converter assembly is provided, which includes an impeller, a turbine, and a stator. The impeller and the turbine each have a plurality of passages for directing fluid. The inlet and outlet of each passage are larger in cross-sectional area than the middle portion of the passage, located between the inlet and outlet. This structure reduces energy losses, which typically occur near the midpoint of the passage due to flow separation. Additionally, reducing the flow area of the torus of the impeller and turbine permits an overall thinner torque converter, which is preferred for engine packaging purposes. The stator includes a core, a shell, and a plurality of stator blades. One end of each stator blade is fixed to the core, while the opposite end is fixed to the shell. Each stator blade has a mean camber line and an associated mean camber line length. The maximum thickness of each stator blade is approximately 20% of the mean camber line length.

Abstract: A Stirling cycle engine of a simplified structure, having enhanced reliability by improving abrasion resistance and lubricity of components thereof. When a piston reciprocates in a cylinder along the axial direction thereof by a driving mechanism, a displacer reciprocates in the cylinder along the axial direction thereof accompanying the reciprocation of the piston. The piston and the displacer slide in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder, but the piston and the displacer are each integrally made from an engineering plastic such as PPS having fine strength, dimensional stability, abrasion resistance and formability, while PPS is made CFRP. Moreover, solid lubricity agent is added to PPS. Accordingly, abrasion resistance, lubricity, strength and precision of the piston and displacer are enhanced, while the piston and the displacer can be simply produced by a well-known plastic molding.

Abstract: A thermodynamic force amplifying machine that causes a liquid working medium to perform useful work in a three-stroke working cycle (isochoric heating, isothermal expansion, contraction through regenerative cooling) making use of an external heat source and of an external cold source. The work performed by the auxiliary drive (12) at the displacer (11) is thereby much smaller than the one produced in the conversion system (18, 19) (force amplification). An inversely operating machine driven by an external power source acts as a heat pump/refrigerator.

Abstract: A hydraulic cylinder includes a housing having a fluid connection for connecting to a hydraulic system and an after-running connection for connecting to a fluid after-running vessel, and a piston which is axially displaceable in the housing to define a variable pressure space having a gas collecting portion, the piston being fixed against rotation in the housing and having at least one after-running groove which is oriented substantially toward the gas collecting portion. A primary seal arranged in the housing and receiving the piston therethrough is bridged by the after-running groove when the piston is in an extended end position, whereby the gas collecting portion of the pressure space communicates with the after-running connection when the piston is in the extended end position.
