The plant is particularly well-suited for growing as an ornamental specimen or as a mass planting in the landscape.

Abstract: Disclosed is an optical recording and reproducing apparatus comprising a light source directing a light spot toward a recording medium, a detection system detecting light reflected from the recording medium to derive an electrical signal from the reflected light, an information processing circuit modulating the intensity of the light spot according to writing pulses to record information on the recording medium and using the electrical signal to reproduce information from the recording medium, and a tracking servo circuit carrying out tracking servo operation on the basis of the electrical signal and including an extracting circuit connected to a source of extracting pulses having a pulse width at least equal to the writing pulse width so that writing pulse parts contained in the electrical signal are extracted during recording information, whereby a track offset occurring during information recording can be minimized, and the stability of the tracking servo system can be improved.

Abstract: A method and packaging for vaccinating or medicating an animal by implanting a solid dose medicament in an animal. The solid dose medicament, or plurality of such medicaments, are each color-coded to identify a particular active ingredient, then packaged in a pellet magazine through which the doses are visible, and thereafter the pellets are implanted, usually subcutaneously, into the base of the ear or in the neck of an animal. The same system can be used for colored ballistic implants.

Abstract: Methods and devices for using less-than-perfect memory chips and packages in the manufacture of memory modules. In the preferred method the failed I/O lines in primary memory packages are disconnected and replaced by selected I/O lines from flawless or partially defective backup parts all mounted on the same module. The various processes comprise sorting of partially defective parts according to the results of wafer or packages test, judicious distribution of backup parts on a PC board module and routing of their I/O lines, optimized patching techniques and multi-level tests and repatching routines. The methods and processes are equally applicable to Chip On Board assemblies as well as package assemblies.

Abstract: Interactive internet activities are a very popular means for gathering information for business, personal, medical, entertainment and other purposes. Most internet interaction is asymmetrical in nature in that a client's requests for information are much smaller (in data size) than the resulting information delivered by the server. Although the client/internet link is inherently asymmetrical, there remains a great deal of interaction and overhead required between the client and the server that increases the bandwidth needs for the client's upstream request channel. There are many advantages to reducing this upstream traffic volume and thereby making the internet interaction even more asymmetrical. Such compression of request data could allow more clients to utilize a single upstream data path instead of separate paths.

Abstract: A ballistic panel is provided for being incorporated into a lightweight soft body-armor product adapted for covering an area of the body. The ballistic panel includes an assembly of woven fabric plies with warp and fill yarns formed of bundled Poly (p-phenylene-2, 6-benzobisoxazole) fibers. The plies have a collective areal density of no greater than 1.0 pounds per square foot, and a V50 ballistic limit of no less than 1925 feet per second using a .22 caliber, 17 grain FSP at 0 degrees obliquity.

The cover portion is an elongated strip that is pivotally attached to the outside of the cloth web. The hole is aligned with the breast nipple of a wearer and the pocket.

Abstract: The object of this invention is to provide a leisure sports helmet having both a fan and a plurality of vents on a helmet body. Due to the fan (100) and the vents (20), atmospheric air is drawn into the interior of the helmet to cause convection to transfer heat from the head of a user to the air, and the heated air with sweat is discharged to the atmosphere. Thus, the helmet is forcibly ventilated while the user wearing the helmet participates in rapid leisure sports, so that the helmet does not generate any odor caused by the heat and sweat in the interior of the helmet and maintains a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. The fan collaterally provides a decoration effect to make the appearance of the helmet more attractive.

Abstract: Disclosed and claimed are cap (120), skullcap (200), hat (270), and hat insert (350) devices comprising a weight-increasing layer, such as an elastomeric weight layer (114, 214, 350, 414, 454, 514). The elastomeric weight layer (114, 214, 350, 414, 454, 514) is comprised of an elastomer and weighted bodies. In some embodiments the weight-increasing layer is shaped to conform to the crown of the head of a person wearing headwear of the present invention. In other embodiments a weighted component fits within a hat. Other forms of the weight-increasing layer include a double-walled bladder structure (700), shaped to conform to a person's head, into which weighted material is added. Exercise with such devices serves to increase the bone strengthening weight stress experienced by the wearer's spinal column and to encourage the wearer to maintain an improved, healthier posture.

Abstract: A baseball type cap to be worn by a person constructed of a flexible material with a visor extending frontward and a pair of rearwardly extending, generally triangular shaped flaps that both have elongated inner edges and lower edges. In one embodiment, the lower edges of the flaps are adapted to be affixed together by an elongated securing system, such as a hook and loop system available under the trademark Velcro. In affixing the lower edges together, flaps are substantially overlapped and the crown of the cap is formed with a small opening formed at or near the crown to encircle the person's hair that can easily be directed through the opening and controlled to pass upwardly and rearwardly of the person to keep the hair off the nape of the neck of the person. The cap can thereby be easily donned by the person and provide control of the hair.

An anti-siphon valve includes an air inlet for introducing water into said vessel and an inlet valve is provided for admitting water to the anti-siphon valve. A dual flush valve selectively releases different quantities of water from said vessel through the vessel outlet and a control valve selects one of the different quantities of water released by the dual flush valve.

A method is provided for forming a pool cover box to contain a pool cover assembly for covering a swimming pool, comprising forming an elongated plastic box.

According to certain preferred embodiments, the semi-rigid annular ring is a split ring defining an opening, the skirt includes a slit that provides access between the opening in the split ring and the neck closure and the neck closure is a tube having a smooth exterior surface and a padded interior for comfort.

The shape of the nursing aid device acts like a substitute “lap” for the mother and the nursing aid device is configured to tuck under her arm for comfortable nursing sessions. The nursing aid device may include a covering having a short length, a long length opposite the short length, and a wing on each end of the long length. The covering may define a trapezoidal shape or a triangular shape, and may include a plurality of undulating curves on an outer periphery. The nursing aid device is designed to fit within or on a mother's lap, rather than around her torso.

Abstract: An inflatable liner for a boot, such as a snowboard boot. An oily chalk like substance consisting of 90% sweet starch, 9% lubricant, and 1% stearate is included between two sheets of plastic that make up bladder of the liner. The bladder is attached to the EVA of the liner before the EVA is folded, stitched, heated and molded. This allows the bladder to be attached while the EVA is still flat and allows attachment to be performed by machine stitching. The bladder is partially inflated before the EVA is heated and molded. The oily chalk like substance and the partial inflation of the bladder allows the installed bladder to pass through the heating and molding steps of the EVA without the two sheets that make up the bladder melting together. The design and installation of the bladder minimizes the amount of slipping of a wearer's foot and heel within the boot.

In operation, the substrate cleaning tool 23 is brought into contact with a substrate W in their relative movement in order to clean the substrate W. As the cleaning liquid is ejected from the surfaces of the brash members 46, particles are washed away from the surfaces of the brash members 46. Consequently, it is possible to eliminate a possibility that the particles etc. are transferred to the substrate W.

Therefore, the head skin can be effectively stimulated, thereby preventing alopecia and simultaneously promoting hair growth.

Abstract: A tri-joint groover or trowel assembly for finishing a concrete surface includes an elongate handle, a base member and a connector assembly for selectively connecting the handle to the base member. The base member has opposed edge portions and a centrally disposed longitudinal axis extending therebetween. The trowel assembly further includes an elongate track preferably having opposed sidewalls extending upwardly from the base member and extending along the longitudinal axis with the opposed sidewalls forming an opening therebetween. The base member includes a groove formed therein and substantially aligned with the opening of the track so that the connector assembly can be slidably moved therealong. The trowel assembly further includes an elongate grooving member integral with the connector assembly and extending substantially parallel to the opposed edge portions and downwardly from the base member with the grooving member being slidably movable along the groove.
