Abstract: This is a portable, pressurized washing system for use in various situations. It is designed to provide low power, medium to low pressure water at high volumes. Its initial application is for use in equestrian applications. The basic design allows for easy mounting inside a horse trailer, and will supply water under pressure to a user outside the trailer who wishes to hose off a horse, equipment or the trailer itself. There are obviously other applications outside equestrian uses, such as but not limited to, mountain biking, motor-crossing or even SCUBA diving.

  • Publication number: 20060070662
Abstract: A valve cover having a valve cover body, preferably of two sections. These sections are placed on either side of a valve. When joined, the sections enclose the valve, but form line apertures around the lines leading to and from the valve. Once the sections are in place, a cap is placed over the sections. The cap is sized to fit the sections tightly and will prevent the sections from separating. The cap may be provided with a tongue in groove mechanism to prevent accidental removal of the cap and to help secure the cap to the valve cover body. The cap and the valve cover body are also preferably provided with locking apertures. When these locking apertures are aligned, the cap may be secured to the valve cover body with a lock. With the valve cover locked in place around a valve, access to the valve is denied.

Abstract: A valve assembly includes an automatic excess flow shut-off mechanism for preventing excess flow between an inlet and an outlet of the assembly. The excess flow shut-off mechanism is adapted to automatically stop fluid flow through the valve assembly when the flow exceeds a specified flow rate. The excess flow shut-off mechanism prevents flow when it's set and allows flow when it's reset. The valve assembly also includes a manual set mechanism for setting the excess flow shut-off mechanism even when there is no excess flow. The valve assembly additionally includes a manual reset mechanism for resetting the shut-off mechanism and for allowing excess flow.

Abstract: A valve assembly for controlling gas delivery from a higher pressure fluid source to a lower pressure processing tool. The valve assembly includes a valve poppet movingly engageable with a valve seating member and a fluid permeable insert positioned between the valve poppet and the valve seating member that is unexposed to flowing fluid when the valve poppet is in a closed position thereby preventing fluid flow through the valve assembly and providing a diffusional path for transfer of all flowing fluid when the valve poppet is in an open position. The permeable insert can be inserted into the sealable and engageable surface of either the valve seat member or the valve poppet.

Hose (30) has a biasing spring (36) that extends along its full length, and can comprise single or multiple springs and/or multiple diameter spring coils. Spring (36) is covered with hose cover material (32) on the outside and hose cover material (34) on the inside to form a sealed hose and are bowed inward or outward radially between the individual spring coils depending on the intended use of hose (30) to give the cover materials room to move out of the way when the hose retracts and the coils of spring (36) are forced close together. The Linearly Retractable Hose is operated by changing internal pressure within the hose relative to the ambient pressure on the exterior of the hose. Control of fluid pressure within hose (30) is what allows the hose to operate as an automatically extendable and retractable hose. The biasing of spring (36) depends on the type of use for the hose.

Abstract: This application relates to a method of applying a thermally settable coating to a patterned substrate, such as an asphalt surface. The coating is applied in one or more preformed thermoplastic sheets and heated in situ to conform the thermoplastic material to the pattern formed in the underlying substrate. In one embodiment of the invention a pattern is formed in the asphalt surface using a removable template which is impressed into the asphalt when it is in a pliable state. The pre-formed sheets are then applied to the patterned surface and gradually heated. In an alternative embodiment of the invention the template is impressed into the pre-formed sheet and asphalt surface simultaneously after the sheet has been heated to a suitable temperature in situ. A bond reduction agent may be used to minimize adhesion between the template and the heated thermoplastic material.

Abstract: A method for producing a polymer mirror by continuously manufacturing a polymeric substrate, applying a reflective layer or layers which may be a polymer whose surface has been metalized so as to make it reflective or a multi-layer film wherein the combined refractive indices of the layers give the quality of a mirror surface. An optional coating may be applied to a surface of the reflective layer to promote adhesion to the underlying substrate. A composite is formed by heat lamination using a calendar roll assembly to fuse the layers into a rigid final article having a reflective surface having the character of a silver mirror, a highly reflective mirror, or a colored mirror.

Abstract: A label activation and application system and method includes a label preparation mechanism for preparing a first label. A feeder supplies a second label. A combiner mechanism combines the first label with the second label to form a combined label. An applicator applies the combined label to a targeted location, if desired. The method results in the formation of a combined label supporting a chemical reaction either upon formation or upon a further activation step. The chemical reaction can serve as an indicator of subsequent exposure of the label to such variables as time, temperature, light, oxidation, and the like.

Abstract: A substrate processing system which sprays exposure process gas onto a substrate disposed within a chamber. The substrate processing system is used, for example, for performing an exposure process of an organic film formed on a substrate in a gas atmosphere obtained by vaporizing an organic solvent solution for dissolving and reflowing an organic film. The substrate processing system comprises: the chamber having at least one gas inlet and at least one gas outlets; a gas introducing means which introduces the exposure process gas into the chamber via the gas inlet; and a gas distributing means. The gas distributing means separates an inner space of the chamber into a first space into which the exposure process gas is introduced via the gas inlet and a second space in which the substrate is disposed.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for improving the etch uniformity across a substrate during a plasma etch process that employs the use of an inductively coupled plasma helical inductor. The plasma apparatus comprising a vacuum chamber, a support member in the vacuum chamber for holding the substrate, an etchant gas supply for providing an etchant gas to the vacuum chamber, an exhaust in fluid communication with the vacuum chamber, an RF power source and a helical inductor disposed around or near a portion of the vacuum chamber. A sensor is provided for measuring a process attribute to generate a signal to a controller that then controls a mechanism that varies the position of the helical inductor so that the uniformity of the plasma etch is improved.

Abstract: A transfer assembly and method for transferring a flexible sheet of material which is subject to wrinkling, folding and/or creasing. The assembly and method includes a vacuum manifold having a cavity which is connected to an evacuation source for drawing a vacuum on the cavity, and an opening on the manifold of a given size and shape and communicating with the cavity. A sheet of porous material for supporting the flexible sheet of material for transfer thereon covers the opening and has a plurality of fine pores extending therethrough. The pores are profusely and uniformly distributed entirely over an area of the sheet of porous material which area is at least substantially of the same size and shape as the flexible sheet of material which is to be transferred thereon, so that substantially the entire area of the flexible sheet of material which is to be transferred is exposed to the pores.

The winding drum is mounted on the headrail, is operable so as to rotate relative to the headrail, and has threaded and smooth drum portions. The pull cord extends through the headrail and is secured to the smooth drum portion. The carriage member threadedly engages the threaded drum portion, and is movable along the threaded drum portion when the winding drum is rotated so as to wind the pull cord on the smooth drum portion. The guide member is coupled to the carriage member so as to be co-movable therewith, and guides the pull cord such that winding turns of the pull cord on the smooth drum portion are formed adjacent to one another without overlapping.

A fabric, such a mesh screen, is arranged over the frame so that the perimeter of the screen is received within the cavities of the longitudinal members. A movable platen is actuated to engage the spline. The splines are forced into the cavities to a second position in which the perimeter of the screen is pinched between a corner of the splines and the longitudinal members. A nose of the splines, which includes the corner, is retained in a channel of the longitudinal members.
