Abstract: Hani rings are the first type of rings designed and sized to be fit to be worn at different places on the finger—between the first knuckle and below the nail, between the second knuckle and the first knuckle, or below the second knuckle to the regular traditional position of the ring, the bottom of the finger. Close detail has been paid to each of the rings' weight, thickness, width, and shape for extreme comfort to enable this innovative, new, original way of wearing rings and expressing oneself comfortably, fashionably, and in a practical manner. Various ring designs and sizes, and different positioning, can be mixed and matched to make one's own style different each day.

Abstract: A material for an optical element is accommodated between a first mold and a second mold, and is pressurized by relatively moving the first mold and the second mold while the material is heated to a predetermined temperature, thereby molding the optical element having a predetermined shape. This method determines, as a molding-reference distance, a distance between the first mold and the second mold of when a molding pressure which is generated between the first mold and the second mold applied to the material reaches a predetermined pressure, and moves either one of the first mold and the second mold from the molding-reference distance by a predetermined distance, thereby finishing molding of the optical element. Therefore, it is possible to reduce errors in the shapes of the final molding space easily and surely.

Abstract: A rheometer has a measuring chamber which is delimited by a measuring chamber wall in which at least one measuring component is disposed for acceptance of a sample. The measuring chamber can have a gas flowing through it whose temperature is controlled in a desired fashion by a first temperature control device. A second temperature control device is also disposed in the measuring chamber wall by means of which the wall of the measuring chamber can be temperature controlled to a desired temperature. To temperature control the sample, the gas flow in the measuring chamber can be switched off or at least highly reduced prior to measurement of the reological characteristic quantities and further temperature control of the measuring chamber is effected by means of the temperature control of the measuring chamber wall.

Abstract: A pressure sensor (30) for sensing a fluid pressure in harsh environments such as the air pressure in a tire, by using a chamber (58) partially defined by a flexible membrane (50), the flexible membrane (50) is a laminate having at least two layers wherein at least one of the layers is at least partially formed from conductive material, and the chamber (58) containing a fluid at a reference pressure, such that the flexible membrane (50) deflects from any pressure difference between the reference pressure and the fluid pressure; and, associated circuitry (34) for converting deflection of the flexible membrane (50) into an output signal indicative of the fluid pressure. Forming the membrane from a number of separately deposited layers alleviates internal stress in the membrane (50). The layers can be different materials specifically selected to withstand harsh environments.

Abstract: A pressure sensor (30) for harsh environments such as vehicle tires, formed from a wafer substrate (32) with a recess, a flexible membrane (50) covering the recess to define a chamber (58) containing a fluid at a reference pressure. In use, the flexible membrane (50) deflects due to pressure differentials between the reference pressure and the fluid pressure. Associated circuitry (34) converts the deflection of the flexible membrane (50) into an output signal indicative of the fluid pressure. An apertured guard (54) over the membrane formed using lithographically masked etching and deposition techniques protects the delicate MEMS structures. Forming the guard in situ by depositing material offers greater time efficiency and accuracy than producing a guard separately and securing it over the membrane. Semiconductor etching and deposition techniques allow highly intricate surface details. The apertures in the guard can be made smaller to exclude more particles from contacting the membrane.

Abstract: A gas flow rate meter includes an upstream line and two chambers having substantially equal, fixed volumes. An adjustable valve may direct the gas flow through the upstream line to either of the two chambers. A pressure monitoring device may be configured to prompt valve adjustments, directing the gas flow to an alternate chamber each time a pre-set pressure in the upstream line is reached. A method of measuring the gas flow rate measures the time required for the pressure in the upstream line to reach the pre-set pressure. The volume of the chamber and upstream line are known and fixed, thus the time required for the increase in pressure may be used to determine the flow rate of the gas. Another method of measuring the gas flow rate uses two pressure measurements of a fixed volume, taken at different times, to determine the flow rate of the gas.
