This new and distinct variety has shown to be uniform and stable in the resulting generations from asexual propagation.

Abstract: A new and distinct high essential oil variety of lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus) is named ‘Nima’. Further, the invention relates to the high content of the monoterpene citral in the essential oil. This novel variety ‘Nima’ of lemongrass is a selection from the open pollinated seedlings of the seeds obtained from another Cymbopogon flexuosus variety OD 19 from the germ plasm collection of CIMAP. This variety is propagated through vegetative means using the slips and is stable for commercial cultivation.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a new and distinct variety of Viola cornuta, named ‘Sunviolamari’. This new variety has a spreading growth habit with long prostrate stems. This Viola plant has many branches, and a great profusion of blooms with the entire plant remaining in bloom for a considerable period of time. It displays dense green foliage, single medium-sized violet-blue flowers having some graduation of color intensity on the long peduncles. The flowers have a faint and sweet scent. The plant exhibits good resistance to rain, cold, disease and pests.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a new variety of Senecio plant having a semi-dwarf, obconical shaped with abundant branching and small leaves. The capitula are single and medium size, the ray florets having strong reddish purple with white center coloration. The blooming time is early and flowering duration is longer than Senecio cruentus. ‘Sunsenebapiba’ has low fertility.

Abstract: A new and distinct variety of climbing shrub rose plant is provided. The new plant is a spontaneous mutation of unknown causation of the ‘Meiviolin’ variety (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 6,892). Attractive near white long-lasting very double blossoms having an ancient rose configuration are formed on a substantially continuous basis. Vigorous medium green semi-glossy foliage is formed that contrasts well with the near white blossom coloration. Good resistance to Black Spot and good tolerance to frost are displayed. The new variety is particularly well suited for providing attractive ornamentation in the landscape. It can be grown to advantage on a trellis, lamppost or gazebo.

Abstract: A new and distinct cultivar of black cherry tree (Prunus serotina Ehrh) which is distinctly characterized by extremely rapid growth rate, strong central stem tendency, excellent straightness, and insect and disease resistance, thereby producing excellent timber qualities, the trait of commercial interest. This new variety of black cherry tree was discovered by the applicant near West Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Ind., in a black cherry planting. This selection has been designated as CH 5 in records maintained by the applicant on the performance of this selection and grafts made from the selection, and will be known hereafter as ‘AFTC-1’.

Abstract: A new and distinct Monarda or Bee-Balm cultivar is provided that displays an upright mounded growth habit and frequently assumes a mature height of approximately three to four feet. Attractive bright coral pink blossoms commonly are formed from June through August. The foliage is dark green, contrasts well with the blossom coloration, and displays a strong minty fragrance. Good resistance to Powdery Mildew is displayed. The plant is well suited for growing as attractive ornamentation in the landscape.

Abstract: Single horizontal wells drilled through heterogeneous reservoirs are capable of greater oil productivity than vertical wells, often with lower produced GOR and WOR. Multiple drainholes tied-in to a vertical cased well are even more beneficial. Completion of such drainholes in many sandy reservoirs must use cemented liners. Well configurations comprising multiple drainholes liners, each of them tied-in to a vertical casing by pressure-tight connections require novel technologies making use of some novel downhole equipment, tools and procedures for drilling, tie-in and completion of such wells. These may be for newly-drilled wells or may be obtained by re-entry into an existing vertical cased well. Specific equipment, including novel casing joints, whipstocks, intermediate liners and tubing completion assembly components applicable to new wells are described herein.

Abstract: A showerhead having a water filter element held therein. The water filter element is easily changeable by unscrewing two halves of a body forming the showerhead. The body halves are easily gripped and turned, so as to be opened or closed, and the showerhead preferably includes a massage-type head at the lower end thereof, which may be rotated to vary the streams of water exiting the showerhead. The water filter element cooperates with internal components of the halves of the body to direct the flow of water through the filter element, and then out of the massage head. The showerhead may be easily and quickly adapted to be held on any shower arm, and to replace any existing showerhead without taking up as much room as currently existing filter elements used with available showerheads.

The deposition of the layer may be performed in a very low pressure environment, thus assuring the same kind of environment in the sealed chamber. The chamber may enclose at least one device such as a thermoelectric sensor, bolometer, emitter or other kind of device. The wafer-pair typically will have numerous chambers, with devices, respectively, and may be divided into a multiplicity of chips.

Abstract: A wireless remote control lock system for residential and commercial building pedestrian doors includes an electrically powered striker plate assembly having a striker plate member moveable between positions for engagement and disengagement with a door latch member. The striker assembly is adapted to be connected to a control unit which supplies low voltage DC power to the striker assembly and includes a radio frequency range signal receiver and a circuit responsive to receiving signals from an operator controlled radio transmitter to effect indefinite or momentary operation of the striker assembly to unlock a door. The control unit circuit includes a first self-latching relay, a selector switch and a second relay for selecting an operating mode of the system wherein the door may be unlatched momentarily (for about 3.5 seconds, for example) or indefinitely until a second signal is transmitted by the transmitter to the receiver.

Abstract: An interferometric method and apparatus for in-situ monitoring of a thin film thickness and of etch and deposition rates using a pulsed flash lamp providing a high instantaneous power pulse and having a wide spectral width. The optical path between the flash lamp and a spectrograph used for detecting light reflected from a wafer is substantially transmissive to the ultraviolet range of the spectrum making available to the software algorithms operable to calculate film thickness and etch and deposition rates desirable wavelengths.

Abstract: Preservative compositions using toxicologically acceptable ingredients, and employing a pH of 9.0 or above for at least part of the process, for controlling the growth of spoilage bacteria and for preventing unwanted color changes in fresh and processed mushrooms. Aqueous solutions of preservatives are prepared and applied in multiple stages to the mushrooms, by spraying or immersion. More specifically, disclosed is a method for preserving fresh and processed mushrooms, comprising the steps of: contacting the mushrooms with an antimicrobial buffer solution having a pH of from about 9.5 to about 11.0; and rinsing the mushrooms one or more times immediately after the contacting step with pH-neutralizing buffer solutions of erythorbic acid and sodium erythorbate, in ratios of about 1:4, with a sufficient pH to return the mushrooms to the mushroom physiological pH of about 6.5.

Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a tubular stem section which extends from a handle. A tubular articulated section connects a surgical instrument with the stem section. An actuator assembly is connected with the handle and is operable to bend the articulated section to change the orientation of an instrument on an outer end portion of the articulated section relative to body tissue. The instrument on the outer end of the articulated section may be a rotatable cutting tool which is driven by a tubular drive element having a flexible section which extends through the articulated section. The articulated section is bent or flexed by a plurality of flexible elongated elements (wires). In one embodiment of the invention, a pair of elongated elements are provided to flex the articulated section in opposite directions. In another embodiment of the invention, four flexible elongated elements are provided to flex the articulated section in any one of four directions.

Abstract: Fire protective trousers include an outer shell and a removable liner, the outer shell having right and left front panels which extend around and behind the center sides of the outer shell and connect with respective right and left rear panels along outseams at the rear of the outer shell, thus providing more material in the front of the outer shell and reducing rubbing contact with the body of the wearer. The respective inseams curve to the rear and down to the lower edges of the rear panels. The right and left front panels also include respective upper and lower pleats that extend from the outseams toward the inseams and from the inseams toward the outseams thereof to provide extra material in the knee areas of the leg portions. The rear panels have concave lower edges to reduce dragging on the ground and the possibility of being stepped on by the wearer.
