  • Patent number: 7082758
Abstract: In a hydraulic machine, hydraulic pump failure is detected and the pump lifespan is estimated before the pump failure occurs. The discharge pressure 122, oil temperature 126, and drain filter differential pressure 120 are measured, a correlative relationship 128 between the filter differential pressure and the discharge pressure is determined, and a representative filter differential pressure 130 is calculated from this correlative relationship. Using an oil temperature-differential pressure correlation function, the representative differential pressure value 130 is corrected so that the variable component 132 caused by the oil temperature 126 is eliminated therefrom. The long-term trend and the short-term trend of the increase over time of the corrected differential pressure is calculated. A pump failure is predicted or the pump lifespan is estimated based on the degree of deviation between the long-term trend and the short-term trend.

Inkjet-type sprayers are configured to spray cooling fluid on the thermal-transmittance wall to cool the chip. A controller transmits a control signal to the sprayer to cause the sprayer to spray at a rate leading to the cooling fluid being vaporized by the semiconductor device without the device either drying or becoming covered by a pool. The cooling system uses cooling fluid surface tension forces to draw liquid cooling fluid up a porous member from the spray chamber back to the sprayers, to be sprayed again. The cooling system uses gravity and/or pressure within the spray chamber to direct vaporized cooling fluid upward from the spray chamber to a condenser. The condenser is configured to cool and condense the vapor.

Abstract: A cylinder washing machine includes a front-loading cylinder, the shell of which is provided with holes and is surrounded by a container. The cylinder washing machine includes a cycle for spin-drying the laundry contained in the cylinder. To prevent water that has already been spun out of the laundry from being transported back to the interior space of the cylinder during spin-drying, precautions are taken to prevent substantially any air from flowing from the container through the interior space of the cylinder and back to the container during spin-drying.

Abstract: A mortise lock includes a chassis mounted in a mounting hole of a door and an outside handle assembly mounted to a side of the chassis. The outside handle assembly includes an outside spindle having a first end partially received in the chassis and operably connected to at least one bolt of the chassis such that rotation of the outside spindle causes retraction of the bolt. The first end of the outside spindle includes a perimeter groove, forming a fragile portion. An outside handle includes an end securely connected to a second end of the outside spindle to turn therewith. The fragile portion of the outside spindle is broken when an excessive force is applied to the outside handle. Thus, unauthorized opening of the door by forcibly turning the outside handle is prevented. Further, the mortise lock can be easily installed, and the cost of the mortise lock is cut.

Abstract: A method of making Circular and Oval Flanged Rings, for the connection of thin walled circular and oval ducting, including Circular and Oval Flanged Rings having a Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association (SMACNA) standard T24 Profile. Thin gauge Lock Form Quality steel, from 10 to 20 gauge, is cut into strips with the strip ends butt welded forming Flanged Ring Band Stock which is inserted and clamped into a Spinning Die. The Spinning Die is rotated by a horizontally configured lathe output shaft presenting the extended portion of the Flanged Ring Band Stock for machine tool forming. Standard machine tools are used to form the Flanged Ring Band Stock into a Circular Flanged Ring including the SMACNA T24 Flanged Ring Profile. A Circular Flanged Ring is cut along a diameter into Semi-circular Flanged Ring Portions; straight segments including segments with SMACNA T24 Linear Segments are roll formed, assembled into a oval shape within a fixture and welded forming the Oval Flanged Ring.

Abstract: The invention concerns a drive system (1) for a rolling mill, especially for a cold pilger rolling mill with at least one roll frame (1) movable back and forth, at least one crank drive (3) which has a crank arm (4) with a counterweight (5) for at least partial compensation of the inertial forces produced by the mill frame (2), a drive (6) and a connecting rod (7) which articulates the mill frame (2) and the crank arm (4) with one another and at least one counterweight (8, 9) which is eccentrically rotatable and serves to compensate the inertial forces and/or the moments of inertia. To achieve an efficient balancing of the inertial forces with a simple construction of the drive system, the invention provides that at least one counterweight (8, 9) is rotatably driven by a separate rod (10, 11) independently from the drive (6) of the crank drive.
