The carriers with the wiring patterns are bonded on an insulating material, and a laser beam is irradiated from the side of the carrier using the holes in the wiring pattern as a laser mask to form via holes in the insulating material. The via holes and the holes in the carrier are then filled with a conductive paste. With the holes in the carrier that are matched in position with the via holes, lands in the conductor layers are precisely positioned relative to the via holes. A worm gear system causes a hourglass worm 2 driven by an electric motor 4 to mesh with a worm wheel 3 provided to an output shaft 5, and a bearing 7 on the shaft end side, which bears rotatably the hourglass worm 2 is composed of a tapered roller bearing an outer ring of which can be separated. In a fitting operation, an inner ring 7a and rolling elements 7b are fitted into the hourglass worm 2 and also an outer ring 7c is fitted in advance in a gear housing 1. Then, the tapered roller bearing 7 is assembled in the gear housing 1 by moving the hourglass worm 2 obliquely to a rotating shaft line of the hourglass worm 2 in the gear housing 1 along a raceway of the outer ring 7c.

Abstract: A motor-driven steering assist apparatus interposed between a steering handle and a tire wheel side steering member is disclosed for assisting a steering force applied to the steering handle by a driver on the basis of a torque generated by an electric motor. The motor-driven steering assist apparatus has an engine rotation sensor outputting a rotation signal of an engine, a torque sensor detecting a steering torque applied to the steering handle, and a control means for computing a vehicle speed on the basis of the rotation signal of the engine rotation sensor. Driving current of the electric motor is computed on the basis of the computed vehicle speed and the detected torque of the torque sensor, for assist controlling the electric motor.
