  • Publication number: 20060196216
Abstract: An air conditioning system is provided that includes first and second turbines and a compressor. The second turbine is in fluid communication with a pack outlet. A passage fluidly connects the first turbine and the pack outlet. A valve is associated with the passages and is movable between open and closed positions. In the open position, the valve permits flow through the passageway from the first turbine directly to the pack outlet thereby bypassing the second turbine and reducing the resistance to the flow through the system. The valve is opened at higher altitudes to change the typical series fluid connection between the turbines to a parallel fluid connection. In this configuration, the air conditioning system operates more efficiently using reduced air pressure provided to the system. Another valve is also opened to permit additional reduction in the air pressure required.

Part of the well stream is condensed and condensed fractions thereof is drawn off the expander and fed to the storage tank along with condensation products from the exit of the expander. Hence, without any preprocessing, a condensed well stream product is produced which comprises a mixture of liquids and solids which are collected in the storage tank for transport therefrom to land. A system for carrying out the method is also disclosed. Then, the “slice”, whose width is advantageously substantially equal to the impurities peak width, is injected in the second separation column. In a further preferred embodiment, the method also advantageously allows to concentrate a predetermined impurity, thereby providing an improved precision on the results. Abstract: A drive unit is provided that is capable of providing a high-accuracy measurement operation while suppressing a posture change of a detector even if the detector is moved. The drive unit includes a cross section of horizontally-oriented-U-shape guide rail provided to a frame, and the outside to be parallel to the movement direction of a roughness detector; a slider formed to be able to freely slide along the guide rail, and configures a frame being rectangular in cross section to include a detector therein; biasing member that biases the slider against the guide rail; and drive device that moves the slider along the guide rail. The drive unit is configured to include a motor, a ball screw axis to be driven by the motor, and a nut member that is screwed to the ball screw axis, and is coupled to the slider. The ball screw axis is disposed in the vicinity of the substantial center of sliding surfaces of the slider.

Abstract: The method according to the invention provides for an internal combustion engine (11) driven in trailing mode to generate compressed air for driving the turbine (12) of the exhaust-gas turbocharger (10) to be tested. It is thereby possible to carry out the cold testing of the exhaust-gas turbocharger (10) together with that internal combustion engine (11) with which the exhaust-gas turbocharger (10) is subsequently operated. Furthermore, there is provision, in the method, for throttling the air on the delivery side of the compressor (13). The compressor (13) can thereby be operated under load in the turbine characteristic diagram during the cold test. Thus, further measurement quantities can be determined which make it possible to determine the characteristic of the exhaust-gas turbocharger (10) to be tested in the cold test.

Abstract: In a vehicle tire air pressure detection system, a charging electromagnetic wave is transmitted for a predetermined period from a vehicle chassis side and stored as a charge voltage in a transmitter unit attached to a tire wheel. When the charge voltage reaches a predetermined level, a sensor in the transmitter unit detects a tire air pressure and a transmitter/receiver of the transmitter unit transmits a detection data on an electromagnetic wave in the same frequency band as the charging electromagnetic wave after the predetermined period from a time point at which the charge voltage has reached the predetermined level. Thus, interference between the charging electromagnetic wave and the electromagnetic wave of the detection data is prevented.

Abstract: A remote visual liquid quantity indicator comprises a flexible cable within a flexible outer sleeve and allows a user to remotely determine the level of a liquid in a container, such as an accumulator without the need for electrical power or a direct line of sight to the container. The flexible cable may be coupled between a reservoir sweeper of the accumulator and an indicator. Changes in the fluid level of the accumulator may provide a linear movement to the flexible cable, which in turn provides a change to the measurement reading of the indicator. The flexible cable/outer sleeve allows for the complex routing scenarios necessary in the congested spaces surrounding aircraft accumulators.
