Abstract: A vacuum packaging machine (10) is provided having a base (12) and a pivotally mounted lid (14) which cooperatively define a package air evacuation chamber (76) adapted to receive the open end (98) of a filled flexible package (100), thereby allowing evacuation of air from the package (100) and heat sealing of end (98). The machine (10) is characterized by an essentially flat and interrupted, easily cleanable base upper wall (28) which eliminates concavities in the like which can lead to unsanitary collection of fluids or solids. The machine (10) also has a vacuum source (16) and a vacuum conduit assembly (18) the latter having conduits within base (12) and lid (14).

Abstract: A dirt separation and collection assembly suitable for use in a bagless vacuum cleaner including two dirt separation and collection zones is provided. Dirty air enters the upper portion of a container and enters a first stage dirt separation zone including a disruptor ring extending inwardly from the outer wall to allow coarse dirt particles and fibers to pass through and collect at the base of the outer wall of the device. The spinning air is then drawn through a conical shroud and fed into a second stage conical separator for separating fine dirt particles and collecting them in an inner substantially cylindrical collection chamber. Air exits the conical separator at the opposite cone opening before being drawn to the suction source. Elements may be oriented upwardly or downwardly depending upon the configuration of the housing for receiving the dirt separation and collection assembly.

Abstract: In a fan filter unit for filtering and continuously supplying clean air into a clean room, the fan filter unit includes a chemical filter for removing chemical contaminants contained in the air, a fan for sucking and blowing out the air, and a particle filter for removing particles such as dusts and moisture contained in the air. A filter medium of the chemical filter has a circular tube shape and is disposed between an inner circular tube and an outer circular tube. A cover is detachably combined with top portions of the inner and the outer circular tubes, and prevents air flow through the top portions of the inner and outer circular tubes. The air is sucked only through the outer circular tube, the chemical filter and the inner circular tube by a suction force of the fan. Accordingly, velocity distribution of the air passing through the chemical filter may be improved and lifetime of the chemical filter may be increased.

Abstract: The invention relates to a liquid working substance flow, the pressure of said flow being increased and the flow itself being subdivided into a first partial flow and a second partial flow. The first partial flow is partially evaporated with heat from a heat source, and the second partial flow with heat from a working substance flow with a low surface tension. The two partial flows are then combined and produce a gaseous working substance flow with heat from the heat source. The surface tension of said gaseous flow is reduced and the energy thereof converted into a usable form. The working substance flow with a low surface tension is condensed, thus producing the liquid working substance flows. According to the invention, the first partial flow and the liquid working substance flow are essentially at the same temperature. In this way, the heat of the heat source can be better used, thus increasing the efficiency of the cycle.

The hot exhaust gas, of a gas turbine engine, is saturated with water vapor, and then passed through each home heater, where condensation of the water vapor provides heat to each home. With low cost coal fuel, burned in the gas turbine engine burner, a large portion of the fuel energy is efficiently utilized for home heating and electric power generation. In this way, low cost domestic coal can replace expensive imported petroleum fuels for home heating and electric power generation.

Abstract: An ice/beverage dispenser is characterized by an ice/beverage dispensing machine having an integral ice making capacity. An icemaker of the dispenser and the ice and beverage dispensing portion share an evaporator that that is utilized both for chilling beverage water for dispensing and for making ice. The evaporator is efficiently utilized in that one side of it is used for making ice and both sides of it are used for chilling water. The present invention uses a processor based control circuit that operates the refrigeration system between ice-making and water chilling modes in such manner as to ensure that cold beverages will always be served. The ice/beverage dispenser also includes a system for quickly combining and separating the ice making and beverage dispensing water supply, water drain and electrical functions.

Abstract: A control apparatus used in a control system in which the cycle time of a time proportioning signal is long, for example, a temperature control system using a cooler. Even if a manipulation value MV with respect to the cooler is drastically changed along with change of a control target value SP, the activation timing of a time proportioning output section is reset with the changing timing, so that a time proportioning signal Ton is newly generated. Alternatively, with the changing timing, the time proportioning output section is reactivated to generate the deficiency of the time proportioning signal Ton according to an increasing amount of the manipulation value MV. As a result, the time proportioning signal Ton is changed with an excellent follow-up ability.
