Abstract: An adjustable wrench comprising a moveable jaw, a stationary jaw, and a worm gear driving the moveable jaw. The worm gear is, in turn, meshed with a rack of the moveable jaw and is driven by a reversible servomotor. Activation of the servomotor produces linear reciprocating motion of the moveable jaw. The adjustable wrench further includes a positioning device provided for limiting a travel of the moveable jaw in at least one direction away from or toward the stationary jaw. Preferably, the positioning device includes a first preset stop for limiting a travel of the moveable jaw in the direction toward the stationary jaw to define an inward limit of travel of the moveable jaw and a second preset stop for limiting a travel of the moveable jaw the directions away from the stationary jaw to define an outward limit of travel of the moveable jaw.

Abstract: A coupler is provided inside an engaging hole of a piston yoke, which is connected to pistons. A slider is installed on an upper portion of the coupler through a coupler-insertion hole. An engaging member, provided at a lower portion of the coupler, is inserted into the engaging hole so as to be displaceable by a slight amount in the widthwise direction of a cylinder tube. The coupler is inserted into the coupler-insertion hole of the slider, so that the coupler-insertion hole is slidable with respect to curved surface sections of the coupler.

Abstract: A gas fractionalization apparatus and methods for providing oxygen rich air to patients are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a variable output compressor, a PSA unit, a control system, and one or more pressure sensing devices. Pressure of the oxygen rich gas is maintained within a selected window by adjusting the output of the compressor in response to changes in the pressure of the oxygen rich gas. Methods of feedback control are further provided for calibration of the compressor under factory and in-service conditions, as well as under high-altitude conditions. Methods for providing diagnostic estimates and alarms of time to service are further provided.

Abstract: A portable system for air separation or air dehydration, or both, is carried on a truck or equivalent vehicle. The air separation system includes, at a minimum, a feed compressor and a gas separation membrane. The air dehydration system includes a feed compressor and an air dehydration membrane. The feed compressor receives power from the engine of the vehicle, only when the vehicle is not moving under its own power. Heat from the vehicle engine may also be used to heat the compressed air stream to prevent the formation of water. The system can also be used to perform air dehydration and air separation simultaneously. The system is substantially self-contained, and can be easily driven from one location to another, simply by driving the vehicle to another location. The invention is especially useful in providing air separation or air dehydration services, or both, for relatively brief periods, at multiple locations.

Abstract: A gas purification unit includes a gas purification vessel (12) and at least one of inlet conduit means (18, 20, 34) for connecting a feed gas source (16) to the gas purification vessel and outlet conduit means (36, 22, 24) for connecting the gas purification vessel (12) to at least one downstream gas processing unit. Each of said inlet and outlet conduit means includes at least two subsidiary pipes arranged in parallel and a common pipe (34, 36), each subsidiary pipe being in fluid flow communication with the common pipe and having a flow control valve (18, 20, 22, 24) operating in unison with the flow control valve of the or each other subsidiary pipe. The use of at least two valves in unison increases the reliability of the unit. The use of at least two smaller valves in place of a single large valve also increases the reliability.

Abstract: A method for removing one or more strongly adsorbed components (SAC) from a process gas stream having SAC and other gaseous components adjusts the temperature of the SAC-laden process gas stream to be between about 80° and about 500° C. The temperature-adjusted process gas stream is contacted with a heat-exchange surface to transfer heat to an adsorbent, thus causing adsorbed SAC to be desorbed for collection, and to cool the process gas stream and remove any condensate from the cooled process gas stream. The cooled process gas stream is contacted with a cooled section of the adsorbent to adsorb SAC therefrom, producing a SAC-depleted process gas stream and a SAC-laden adsorbent. Desorbed SAC is withdrawn for collection and any adsorbent fines are withdrawing for collection.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for cooling rising vapour (3) in a desorption column (2) by means of a condenser, which is situated at the head of the desorption column, is configured as an indirect heat exchanger and is traversed by a coolant (1). According to said method, the coolant enters at the bottom of the condenser (1) and flows upwards through conduits (8) that are arranged vertically in the condenser. The coolant is enriched with hydrogen sulphide prior to its entry into the condenser (1) and after the absorption of heat, escapes as an overflow (6) from the top of the condenser (1) through upper openings (10) of the conduits (8). The invention also relates to a desorption column (2) for carrying out said method.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for separating gas mixtures by means of an inventive gas centrifuge during which a compressible working fluid from an axial central supply tube (1) is introduced into the enlarging casing space (2) whereby passing through the flow channels (6) of the compression area (A) of a double-walled centrifuge rotor (3) and, in the axially distant area (B) inside the double tube, is guided in flow channels (6) having a constant flow cross-section (4) when in the centrifuged state. The flow of gas is separated into a specifically heavier and a specifically lighter gas fraction at a separating barrier (8) that is dependent on the individual gas volume portion. Inside the flow channels (6), the separated gas fractions are forcibly guided, slowed down and diverted in a separate manner with decreasing axial distance. The acceleration of the gas molecules in compression area (A) and the slowing down of the gas fractions in expansion area (C) ensue in a manner that is proportional to mass.
