  • Patent number: 7156451
Abstract: The invention relates to a housing unit (1), such as a caravan or a motor home with an extensible room (3) or slide-out and an awning (7) with a rollable awning canvas (8) attached above this room (3), so that, when sliding out the room (3), the awning canvas (8) will automatically be rolled off above this room (3) until the foremost edge of the awning canvas (8) will have passed the front wall (4) of the slide-out (3), in order to protect this front wall from the sun. Rolling off the awning canvas (8) automatically is preferably caused by the sliding out motion of the slide-out (3). Furthermore, an arm (12), (13) connected to the canvas (8) may be provided, which is rotatably connected to the slide-out and which will be rotated when moving out the slide-out and will take along the awning canvas (8) until it will pass the said front wall (4). This invention likewise relates to an awning (1) provided for such a housing unit (1) and a method to install the awning (7).

  • Patent number: 7156454
Abstract: A linkage mechanism operably associated with the front and rear doors of an automotive vehicle that pivots a bumper device into an interfering position with respect to the closing of the front door against the B-pillar of the vehicle when the rear door remains opened. The linkage mechanism includes a spring-loaded actuation lever that moves in response to the opening of the rear door to cause through connecting links the pivotal movement of the bumper device from a retracted position to an interfering position to interfere with the closing of the front door. The closing of the rear door causes the retraction of the pivoted bumper device to enable the closing of the front door. A manually activated stop lever is pivotally movable against the bumper device to prevent the pivotal movement thereof out of the retracted position even when the rear door is opened.

  • Patent number: 7156482
Abstract: PPS variation along a scan axis is found by shining a light beam from pen carriage to print-medium position and back to detector, and applying a pathlength/intensity correlation. Sensing is done while scanning, to find relative PPS profile along the track. With no medium in place this measures mechanical imperfections—and can be corrected by later deducting thickness of a medium. If medium is present, adjustment is omitted. For absolute values a plural-lamp sensor is calibrated for each lamp, at the PPS design point. Pagewide/webwide variants are included.

  • Patent number: 7156483
Abstract: A method for determining ink drop velocity of a printhead located at a gap above a print medium. A first ink mark is printed at a first printhead velocity. A second ink mark is printed at a different (in magnitude and/or direction) second printhead velocity. The ink for the second ink mark is ejected from the printhead at the same print ejection position used for the first ink mark plus an offset distance (if any). An optical scan of at least a portion of the print medium is generated using a non-printhead-carrier-mounted optical scanner. The distance between the ink marks is measured using the optical scan. The ink drop velocity is calculated using the measured distance, the offset distance, the first and second printhead velocities, and the gap.

  • Patent number: 7156484
Abstract: An inkjet printhead with nozzles 4 and liquid passages 31, 32 leading to each nozzle. The nozzles, ejection actuators 14, associated drive circuitry 22 and liquid passage 31, 32 being formed on and through a wafer 21 using lithographically masked etching technique, such that the wafer has a droplet ejection side and a liquid supply side. Each of the liquid passage is formed by etching a hole 31 partially through the wafer 21 from the droplet ejection side, and etching a passage from the liquid supply side of the wafer 21 to the hole 31. Etching a hole 31 into the wafer 21 from the droplet ejection side means the ink supply passage 32 can stop short of the interface between the dielectric 23 and the wafer 21 to prevent the etchant from tracking sideways and damaging the drive circuitry 22. As the inlet hole 31 is relatively shallow, the removal of the resist is not overly difficult. This allows the distance between the drive circuitry 22 and the inlet hole 31 to be reduced to less than 20 microns.

  • Patent number: 7156485
Abstract: On a liquid discharge head including an ink discharge surface (6) having rows of ink discharge holes (13) each for discharging different colors of ink, a cleaning roller (7) formed of a cylindrical elastic material touching the ink discharge surface (6) is moved relative to the ink discharge surface (6). This movement causes the pressure inside the ink discharge holes (13) to change and, as a result, the ink (15) inside the ink discharge holes (13) is absorbed. In this way, a ink discharge head, a method for cleaning thereof, and a ink discharge apparatus that do not damage the ink discharge surface (6) with the ink discharge holes (13) and that have improved effectiveness of cleaning the vicinity of the ink discharge holes (13) are provided.

  • Patent number: 7156486
Abstract: A line head includes a nozzle plate, a frame-shaped outer frame, a plurality of head chips, and a head support member arranged within the outer frame. The linear expansion coefficients of the nozzle plate and the head support member are larger than that of the outer frame. The nozzle plate is joined onto the outer frame and a tensile stress is produced in the nozzle plate by the outer frame. The head support member is joined and fitted with the outer frame. When the head support member thermally expands relative to the outer frame, a compression stress is produced in the head support member while a strain of the head support member is restricted by the outer frame.

  • Patent number: 7156487
Abstract: A microfluidic pump driven by thermoacoustic effect is mainly composed of a thermoacoustic device, a fluid-storing tank, and at least one microchannel, etc., wherein the thermoacoustic device may convert thermal energy into acoustic energy. Pressure fluctuation and velocity fluctuation with high frequency are generated by the acoustic wave. According to the high amplitude pressure fluctuation, the microfluid with high moving velocity emitted through microchannels. Since there is no movable part arranged in the thermo-acoustic generator. In the meantime, it indirectly drives the working fluid located in the fluid-storing tank by the manner of indirect contact. So the present invention may be applied in the non-conductive fluid so as to greatly extend its field of application. Moreover, the characteristics of the fluid won't be influenced by the heating process as well. The present invention is indeed a microfluid-driving device that has inventiveness and high application value.
