Publication number: 20070025371Abstract: A wireless access point may be configured to advertise, to mobile user devices, multiple wireless networks available through the wireless access point. For example, service set identifiers (SSIDs) may be specified within an information element (IE) of a communication such as, for example, an 802.11 beacon, broadcasted to mobile user devices. Such an IE may utilize the capability provided by IEEE 802.11 itself to use additional and flexible numbers of information elements within a beacon. Accordingly, networks that would otherwise remain hidden due to limitations of known wireless access points are made visible to mobile user devices. Configuring a wireless access point to advertise multiple available wireless networks, for example, by firmware upgrades, may serve as a viable and cost-effective interim solution and/or alternative to replacing a wireless access point with a wireless access point configured to implement virtual wireless access points.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 29, 2005Publication date: February 1, 2007Applicant: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Anton Krantz, Ari Niikkonen, Mohammad Alam, Timothy Moore

Publication number: 20070025387Abstract: An apparatus and system for encoding out of order data packets in a network are described. At a source unit, an out-of-order parameter is selected as the maximum out of order range value of data packets to be encoded with a minimum header size. Publication number: 20070025396Abstract: A packet processing device for effectively assembling packets. A packet accumulator stores received packets. A packet analyzer extracts, from the packets, analysis information about flows to which the packets belong. A frequency predictor calculates a frequency prediction value based on the reception interval of packets belonging to an identical flow, and stores the calculated value in a frequency prediction storage. Also, in response to input of the analysis information, the frequency predictor reads the corresponding frequency prediction value and sends the read value to a flow processor. The flow processor generates flow information on the flow corresponding to the analysis information, and analyzes the generated flow information and those stored in a flow information storage, to select an assembling termination flow based on the frequency prediction values. A packet transfer unit reads the packets corresponding to the selected flow from the packet accumulator and transfers the packets to a host.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2006Publication date: February 1, 2007Applicant: FUJITSU LIMITEDInventor: Yuichiro Ajima

Publication number: 20070025399Abstract: A reference frequency is distributed through a packet-based network to remote elements in a system. Timing packets are sent from a master timing element, to be received by at least one peripheral timing element. Echo messages are sent to the master timing element by each peripheral timing element after a unique delay, in response to the reception of a timing packet. Loopback delay measurements are included in each timing packet for each peripheral timing element.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 28, 2006Publication date: February 1, 2007Inventor: Pierce Keating

Publication number: 20070025400Abstract: A method for the transmission of data in a synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) network comprising the steps of transmitting to a node of the network a form of data signal from outside the network, converting the signal into a virtually concatenated information structure and transporting the signal through the network in the virtually concatenated information structure; means for carrying out the method and tributary cards arranged and configured to process signals received in contiguously concatenated form to convert them into virtually concatenated form for transfer across the network; thus providing for data transmitted in high-bandwidth, contiguosly concatenated signals (ie VC-4-4c) to be transported across a SDH network, not itself capable of carrying contiguously concatenated signals.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2006Publication date: February 1, 2007Inventor: Ghani Abbas

Publication number: 20070025401Abstract: A medical laser apparatus for performing treatment by irradiating an affected part with a laser beam comprises: a fiber laser source with variable output power, which emits an infrared fundamental laser beam; a wavelength converting element which wavelength-converts the fundamental beam to a visible second harmonic laser beam and is placed on an optical axis of the fundamental beam; a first incident angle changing unit which changes an incident angle of the fundamental beam to the wavelength converting element; an optical axis deviation correcting unit which corrects deviation of an optical axis of the second harmonic beam caused by a change of the incident angle of the fundamental beam to the wavelength converting element; and a controller which controls the first changing unit and the correcting unit based on a change in power of the fundamental beam.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 26, 2006Publication date: February 1, 2007Applicant: NIDEK CO., LTD.Inventors: Kenichi Hayashi, Tsuyoshi Yamada

Publication number: 20070025402Abstract: An apparatus and a method control the temperature of a laser module having laser diodes in an external drum printing plate exposer. In the external drum printing plate exposer, there is not sufficient space to permit cooling of the laser modules by Peltier elements, because of the construction. Cooling of the laser modules with Peltier elements is to be made possible, since the latter are able to control the temperature of the laser modules without vibration. The object is achieved by heat from the laser module being led to a Peltier element via a heat conduit.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 28, 2006Publication date: February 1, 2007Inventors: Jorg-Achim Fischer, Michael Schople

Publication number: 20070025403Abstract: A graded SiGe buffer layer 12 and a SiGe buffer layer 13 are formed on a Si substrate 11. A strained Si layer 14 having a critical film thickness or less is formed to decrease a stress applied to an interface between the strained Si layer 14 and the SiGe buffer layer 13, thereby obtaining a strained Si layer 14, in which a crystal defect density is low. Furthermore, the surface of the strained Si layer 14 is covered by a SiGe cap layer 21, which has a lattice constant greater than Si, thereby preventing the strained Si layer 14 from disappearing due to the sacrifice oxidation performed in the later steps, and enabling a gate oxide layer to be formed thereon. Thus, it is possible to obtain a high-quality strained Si wafer.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2006Publication date: February 1, 2007Inventors: Hajime Nagano, Yoshihiko Saito

Publication number: 20070025404Abstract: An optical element includes a surface-emitting type semiconductor laser, a photodetector element that detects a part of laser light emitted from the surface-emitting type semiconductor laser, and a light-receiving element that receives laser light from outside. The photodetector element has a first photoabsorption layer formed above a substrate. The surface-emitting type semiconductor laser has a first mirror formed above the first photoabsorption layer, an active layer formed above the first mirror, and a second mirror formed above the active layer. The light-receiving element has a second photoabsorption layer formed above the second mirror.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 19, 2006Publication date: February 1, 2007Applicant: SEIKO EPSON CORPORATIONInventor: Tetsuo HIRAMATSU

Publication number: 20070025405Abstract: A bidirectional transceiver assembly includes a VCSEL structure that emits light at a defined wavelength on a substrate structure. A photodetector receives the light. A hole structure is formed on the substrate structure to allow the light from the VCSEL structure to be emitted so as to form an optical path.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 1, 2005Publication date: February 1, 2007Inventors: Dong Pan, Jurgen Michel, Edward Sargent, Wojciech Giziewicz, Lionel Kimerling
