Publication number: 20070039933Abstract: A system and method for forming micro- and meso-scale features in ductile and brittle surfaces. One or more laser pulses are applied to an ablative coating on a workpiece. The laser pulses cause the coating to ablate and plasma to be created in a space between a confining medium and the workpiece. The creation of plasma within the confined space generates a shockwave that deforms the workpiece, ultimately shaping the workpiece to an underlying mold. The number of laser pulses that are applied to shape a workpiece depends on the composition and thickness of the workpiece, type of laser, composition and thickness of ablative and confining material, and amount of desired deformation. For some materials, the workpiece may be preheated before being deformed.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 18, 2006Publication date: February 22, 2007Inventor: Gary Cheng

Publication number: 20070039977Abstract: A disposable, self-contained apparatus for preserving the wine remaining after a bottle of wine has been opened and partially consumed. The apparatus reflects a simple design without the need for separate gas cartridges. The apparatus deposits and maintains a layer of inert gas on the surface of the remaining wine thereby displacing the air-containing oxygen that would otherwise adversely react with the wine. All the air in the headspace need not be purged.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 30, 2006Publication date: February 22, 2007Inventor: Blake Donaldson

Publication number: 20070039978Abstract: For bubble free emptying of pasteous substances from drum-shaped containers these are pumped out through a drum follower plate placed onto the paste. In a refinement, the drum follower plate is provided hollow with a lower grid plate and before the beginning of the pumping out process through evacuation of the hollow intermediary space air, possibly present under the drum follower plate, is sucked from there into the intermediary space, so that the pump scooping from below the grid plate only feeds pasteous material right from the beginning.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 17, 2006Publication date: February 22, 2007Inventor: Erich Scheugenpflug

Publication number: 20070039979Abstract: An aerosol spray actuator for a pressurized aerosol canister and in particular trigger or button actuated spray actuators having three main parts to simplify the mechanical moving parts of a spray actuator. An actuator button, an actuator base and finally a nozzle piece being inserted at the very end of a product dispensing passage embodied either in the body or the trigger part. A mechanism for permitting and blocking the actuation of the spray actuator is also provided so that inadvertent operation of the actuator can be prevented.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2006Publication date: February 22, 2007Inventors: Toralf Strand, Thomas Lacey

Publication number: 20070039980Abstract: The invention relates to a pouring spout (1) for a container holding a liquid, said spout comprising outer tubular means (2) and inner tubular means (3) with an inner passage (11) for said liquid from the container to the exterior. The inner tubular means (3) being partly or totally integrated in said outer tubular means (2) and said means being movable in relation to each other. The spout further comprises a stick (4) including closing means (5) at one end for closing or opening said inner passage (11) by movement of said outer or inner tubular means in relation to each other. The invention also relates to a container, a method and use hereof.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 27, 2004Publication date: February 22, 2007Inventors: Lasse Kjeldsen, Peter Nash, Erik Langelund

Publication number: 20070039981Abstract: A powder dosing system for not easily flowing cohesive and adhesive powders with a feed hopper, a discharge device, a conveying device, where the discharge device has an inclined vibrating floor, and where the discharge opening from the feed hopper and the discharge opening of the discharge device are arranged relative to each other in such a manner that a reliable and relatively precise dosing of the problematic powdery materials is possible without jamming. This is accomplished by also taking into account the specific angle of repose of the material in question. With the help of a special design of various conveying devices, such as a conveying container for discontinuous dosing and a bucket wheel lock for continuous dosing, the system can be optimized.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 21, 2006Publication date: February 22, 2007Inventor: Wolfgang KINDLER

Publication number: 20070039982Abstract: This present invention relates to having professional briefcases that will store papers, laptops, folders, but it will also fold out into a table. The legs will be hidden inside the briefcase and will snap out and the legs will extend. We also will create an art portfolio that will hold the artist's work and paintings and it will zip down to create a display stand for the artist's work. Also we will create a backpack that will store school books and will also fold out into a chair for the child. We will also have a backpack that will have the same function but will fold out into a table but will also store backpacks. Some of the book bags will have wheels on them and a extendable and retractable handle to pull the book bag like a suitcase.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2005Publication date: February 22, 2007Inventor: Taylor Carthern
