The polymeric material in a first area of the central portion exhibits non-photochromic properties at least one layer of the polymeric material in a second area of the central portion exhibits photochromic properties.

The knee pad is cantilevered downward from at least two linearly extending elastic, stretchable straps which are connected at distal ends thereof each to a respective clothing engageable clip at upper region of the knee pad, wherein each clip is attachable to a leg of a pair of short pants. The two or more linearly extending elastic, stretchable straps engage the knee pad by being attached thereto or by being woven through respective pairs of slits extending through the upper region of the knee pad. The straps are of sufficient length so that when attached to clothing, such as short pants, respective locations of the clips upon short pants legs avoids uncomfortable encroachments to respective lateral and rear areas of the knee of the user.

Abstract: A garment for use by outdoors persons permits mobility and includes an integral foot and leg warming tubular bag section that is readily deployed without requiring removal of the garment. The garment including integral foot and leg warming tubular bag section may be carried initially in a bundle at the small of the back using straps in much the same manner as a fanny pack. The user unfastens and then drops the foot and leg warming tubular bag section of the garment to the floor, where a closure is provided to enable the bottom of the bag to be sealed around the legs and the feet. Once deployed and sealed, the bottom portion of the bag works much like a sleeping bag to conserve the body's heat.

The periphery includes a seal that surrounds the nostrils and the mouth and that sticks to the skin of the face. The adhesive of the seal may be a skin friendly adhesive or a skin unfriendly adhesive. With the skin unfriendly adhesive, the adhesive includes a strength sufficient to remove a first layer of skin from the face when the seal is pulled from the face. The seal includes a strip that may be elastomeric. The periphery of the face mask may be elastomeric. The face mask includes a neutralizing agent to minimize harmful effects of substances passing through the face mask. Further disclosed is a method for fixing the face mask to the face. Also disclosed are sealing strips for the lower ends of the legs of a pair of pants, sealing strips of the outer ends of the sleeves of a shirt, and sealing strips for other articles of clothing.

In a first position, the attachment sides of the corner flaps are exposed and the attached clips can be used to attach the blanket to a nursing woman's clothing to hold the blanket in place while the woman nurses a child. When the corner flaps are folded inside out to a second position, the attached clips become concealed between the corner flaps and the blanket. The clips are out of view and unobtrusive, thus allowing the blanket to be used as a baby blanket.

Abstract: A protective garment is provided for use in conjunction with an exoskeletal upper body pad system for a sport, such as American football. The protective garment includes a shirt formed of air-permeable, moisture-wicking fabric that stretches in all directions. A number of independent protective pad segments are integrated within the shirt and are arranged to enable flexible motion by the wearer of the shirt. The independent protective pad segments are positioned and dimensioned to enable the protective garment to be worn between the body of the wearer and the exoskeletal upper body pad system. A conventional exoskeletal shoulder pad system may be easily retrofit for use with the protective garment by attaching a pair of sub pad assemblies to the main arches of the system in order to provide localized compressible padding.

The surgical protective assembly also includes a head securing apparatus having a head band and an adjustment device. The adjustment device has a plurality of arms, each of which is movably coupled to a different portion of the head band. The arm may be biased toward the container wherein when the system is in the locked position the arm must be urged outward from the container to lift the lid from the container.

Abstract: The toilet training stool has an elevated platform and a pair of sidewalls. The platform is elevated from the ground and curves from one end to other that may define a U-shaped recess that is dimensioned for abutting the base of any toilet. The platform acts as both a step that allows the user to reach the toilet and a resting place for the user's feet as they sit upon the toilet, preventing the user from having to dangle his or her feet in the air. Each sidewall is connected to one of the ends of the platform and is positioned substantially normal to the platform, providing an enclose-type structure for the user while sitting on the toilet. At the upper end of each sidewall, a handle-type structure is dimensioned to provide added safety and support for the user.

The gum ring is fitted around the base seat under the flange thereof. A middle portion of the gum ring is formed with a bight section. When the base seat is placed in the sinkhole, the gum ring is snugly watertight fitted in the sinkhole.

Abstract: A process for treating fabric and particularly indigo dyed fabric to change its color to a desired shade or cast contacts the fabric with an aqueous solution containing a chlorine-providing compound and an amount of a bromide salt and/or iodide salt. The desired shade of the bleached fabric can be controlled by adjusting the ratio of the bromide salt or iodide salt in relation to the concentration of the chlorine providing compound and the pH of the aqueous solution. In one embodiment, the chlorine-providing compound is sodium hypochlorite and the salt is sodium bromide, potassium bromide, sodium iodide, potassium iodide and mixtures thereof. The salt in combination with the sodium hypochlorite produces a gray cast to the fabric and particularly indigo dyed denim compared to the blue cast of conventional hypochlorite bleaching and reduces the amount of the hypochlorite bleach normally required to attain the desired shade.
