Patent number: 7195400Abstract: An optical connector ferrule has an optical fiber containing hole reaching from the rear end surface near the end surface and a fine pore extending from the optical fiber accommodating hole to the end surface to be connected. A bare fiber of a polarization-maintaining optical fiber is inserted into the fine pore. Since the length of the fine pore is short, the influence of the uniformness of the adhesive in the fine pore is smaller, and therefore the stress distribution is maintained, resulting in stabilizing the polarization characteristics. A flange unit is attached to the ferrule after an optical fiber is inserted to the ferrule and fixed. Therefore the optical fiber is easily adjusted with respect to the housing in the circumferential direction around the axis, and optical fibers are connected by but joining with high accuracy.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2005Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: Fujikura Ltd.Inventors: Mariko Asano, Koki Narita, Yoshihiro Ouchi, Yasuhiro Tamaki, Yoshikazu Nomura, Hideyuki Hosoya

Patent number: 7195436Abstract: An inset panel fastener anchors into honeycomb substrates employed in the aircraft industry. The inset panel fastener provides significantly increased load carrying capabilities with a simple inexpensive construction. The inset panel fastener includes a plastic casing and a central floating fastener element. The casing includes a body, disk and cap. The body is generally barrel shaped including a central chamber for holding the fastener element which is preferably a female fastener. The disk radially projects from the top of the body and includes a fill hole and vent hole. Meanwhile, the cap engages and covers the bottom of the barrel shaped body. The cap is affixed in place using a weld, such as a sonic weld.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2004Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: NMC Group, Inc.Inventor: Douglas Stephen

Patent number: 7195437Abstract: The present invention provides a screw comprising a head and a threaded shank, wherein the shank is covered with a coating at least 60% of the length thereof from the end, the coating includes microcapsules that contain a viscous fluid with an appropriate level of viscosity. Shavings, including powdered shavings due to friction and exfoliations that may be generated during the screwing process, will be held, so that they will not fall, at the surface of the shank by the viscous fluid coming out of the microcapsules.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2003Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: Nitto Seiko Co., Ltd.Inventor: Hiroyuki Sakamoto

Patent number: 7195438Abstract: A fastening system is provided that includes a fastener having a pin member with a lock groove and crest geometry that is optimized to receive swaged material from collars of materials of different strengths for securing workpieces for different load applications. The lock grooves have the longest width required for collars of lower strength for one application or greater strength for a second application and the crests have the longest width required for collars of greater strength for the second application whereby satisfactory clamp and tensile loads and resistance to failure will result when the lock grooves are filled with collar materials of different strengths. Certain collars of different materials have similar outside diameters for installation by a tool having a swage anvil with a uniform swage cavity that swages the collars into the lock grooves for securing workpieces in shear, shear/tension, shear composite and shear/tension composite applications.Type: GrantFiled: January 5, 2004Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: Huck International, Inc.Inventors: Thomas E. Patent number: 7195439Abstract: A hydraulic nut having a first part connected around the first end of a fixing member the first part having an annular recess which opens to receive a second part forming an annular member which fits within the annular recess, wherein a pressurized medium chamber is defined between the second part and the annular recess. The second part has an annular portion which extends longitudinally away from the first part. The annular portion has an outer surface which is spaced radially inwardly to form a locking part recess. A locking part is placed within the locking part recess, and has an inner diameter which is threadedly engaged with the second part outer surface. The locking part has a surface facing the first part first surface, and movable by the threaded engagement with the second part to an abutment with the first part first surface.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 2003Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: Metso Paper, Inc.Inventor: Kauko Kamppila

Patent number: 7195440Abstract: An auger assembly that has three individual augers that function cooperatively to transport silage within a silo. Specifically, the auger assembly is used to manipulate silage during the loading and unloading of a silo. The first and third augers have the same flighting and rotate in the same direction. The second auger is positioned between the first and third augers and rotates in the opposite direction and has flighting that is the opposite of the flighting of the first and third augers. The individual augers rotate so that silage is moved along parallel with the longitudinal axes of the augers. The design of the auger assembly allows the assembly to transition from a loading to an unloading configuration by electronically reversing the direction of rotation of the individual augers without mechanically altering the auger assembly configuration.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 2004Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Inventor: Charles F. Patent number: 7195441Abstract: According to this invention, there is provided a manipulator which can be suitably used as a compact manipulator apparatus which manipulates a minute target object. A manipulator of this invention includes, for example, a plurality of arm members whose attitudes can be changed and a manipulation target object manipulating hand mounted on the plurality of arm members through a connecting portion. Rotation of the hand or similar motion is caused by changing the attitudes of the plurality of arm members.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2004Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Ichiro Okumura, Tadashi Hayashi

Patent number: 7195444Abstract: The invention relates to a turbomachine comprising a rotor with a drive shaft centered on the axis of the turbomachine by a first bearing and a second bearing which bearings are supported respectively by a first-bearing-support piece and a second-bearing-support piece which are secured to one another and connected to the turbomachine fixed structure by a decoupling device. This turbomachine comprises means designed to collaborate with at least one element of the turbomachine fixed structure in order to perform a dual function, that of preventing the bearing supports, from rotating and that of radially retaining the drive shaft in the event of the bearings becoming decoupled.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2005Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: SNECMAInventors: Michel Gilbert Roland Brault, Patrick Charles Georges Morel, Zoltan Zsiga, Gael Bouchy, Pierre Bruno Pandelakis
