  • Patent number: RE39566
Abstract: Some of the blind holes (6) between indentations (4) of a heating surface (3) contain lifting elements (7) which, after opening of a cover, release a microtitre plate (13) from the heating surface (3) and raise said microtitre plate about 2 to 3 mm, so that it can be removed without application of force. Each lifting element (7) consists of a coil spring (8) and a contact pin (9) made of, for example, PEEK which is inserted into said coil spring and presses with a round flat abutting surface (12) against the lower surface of the microtitre plate (13). • Patent number: RE39567
Abstract: A nail guide mechanism, suitable for use with a wide variety of nail guns, having a mounting bracket to permit ready attachment and/or removal in the field. The guide mechanism, when mounted, is oriented about the channel defined by the nose of the nail gun. The guide mechanism includes a partially pre-compressed spring that induces a bias on a pivoting arm such that the arm is caused to protrude at least partially into the channel. The arm is thus positioned to continuously exert a force on the nails as they are driven down the channel past the arm. Because the spring is only partially pre-compressed, the positioning of the arm is responsive to changes in conditions inside the channel, such as when the head of a nail passes by the arm. The force exerted by the arm, under the influence of the spring, acts substantially along the radial axis of the nail, and is exerted on the nail during at least a portion of the time that the nail is being impelled by the driving mechanism of the nail gun.

  • Patent number: RE39568
Abstract: A method for tracking control of a head unit with respect to data tracks on a magnetic tape determines a first tracking signal and a second tracking signal from control tracks recorded on the tape. The data tracks are divided into successive data sections, each of which is subdivided into an initial region and a useful region. A first control track extends over the entire length of the data section. In addition to this, a second control track is provided in the initial region of each data section. A first tracking signal is generated from the first control track and a second tracking signal is generated from the first and second control track. A difference signal is generated and stored, which is based on a comparison of the first and second tracking signal. A tracking control signal applied to an actuator adjusting the head unit is generated from the second tracking signal when the second tracking signal is available.
