  • Patent number: 7204019
Abstract: A method for repairing defects in a gas turbine component that comprises a substrate and an existing coating on the substrate. The article includes cooling holes having a predetermined air flow requirement and an outer shaped portion and an inner metering portion. The method comprises removing the existing coating and recoating the surface of the article with a nonoriginal coating. After the nonoriginal coating is applied onto the component, the cooling holes that meet a predetermined inspection criteria are reworked to remove the excess nonoriginal coating deposited in the outer shaped portion of the cooling holes. The reworking is done by receiving an electrode, having only a shaped portion with a preselected shape, in the outer shaped portion of the cooling holes thus restoring the cooling holes to the predetermined air flow requirement.

Abstract: A mole trap has a pair of spring-loaded jaws. A platform is pivotally connected to the jaws to limit the travel of the trap into the ground and to stabilize the trap on the ground when it is set. A lever assembly forces the jaws open. A trigger mechanism includes a clasp member configured to selectively hold the lever assembly in a set position. The trap may be positioned such that a portion of the trigger mechanism is on the ground above a mole burrow. The disturbance of a mole traveling beneath the trigger causes the clasp member to disengage the lever assembly, permitting the lever assembly to collapse, thereby permitting the jaws to close and destroy the animal.

Abstract: An insecticidal activatable bait station including a base, the base having an integral structured reservoir provided therein, a series of piercing spikes extend upwardly from the base of the reservoir, and are provided for piercing the seal of a container holding a supply of liquid insecticide, to allow for the deposition into the base when prepared for usage. A series of columns extend upright form the base, holds the containerized liquid either in an elevated position, as during shipment, storage, display, or while awaiting its usage, but that when the liquid container is lowered, and pierced, the container is held into its lowered position, its seal having been pierced, for deposition of its liquid insecticide into the base reservoir, for consumption by any insects. Convenient ramps are provided to allow access through slots into the reservoir, when attracting any insect located nearby.

Abstract: A roofing shingle for enhanced wind/rain durability embodies two transverse lines of adhesion. A first discontinuous line of adhesive joins the butt edge of an overlying shingle to the underlying shingle. Secondly, a band of sealant adjacent the top edge of an underlying shingle seals against an overlying shingle to prevent penetration by wind driven rain to the roof deck. A reduced headlap is thereby permitted, thereby either reducing shingle size or extending shingle coverage. Exposed portions of the sealant band improve the erosion resistance of underlying shingles.
