Abstract: A bolster plate apparatus, used to secure a semiconductor device intermediate a printed circuit board and a heat sink apparatus, includes either an indentation or an open aperture into which a radio frequency absorptive material may be disposed. The absorptive material may be a ferrite material specifically selected to absorb frequencies in the range of the second to fourth harmonic of the processor clock signal frequency. The type of the ferrite material implanted in the bolster plate is selected to maximize the absorption of radio frequency energy, particularly that emitted at the pad vias on the underside of the printed circuit board, without affecting the signal integrity of the other pad connections. The shape of the cutout or aperture is also defined by the arrangement of RF emitting pads on the underside of the printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 7204705
Abstract: A description is given of a high-voltage connector having a plug with a rubber cone (13) for insertion into a coupling socket (20). Such a connector is also referred to as a rubber cone plug system and serves in particular to connect X-ray radiators with high-voltage generators. The connector is noteworthy in particular in that the length of the rubber cone (13) is dimensioned such that, in the inserted state, there remains an expansion space (25) between an end face of the rubber cone (13) and a bottom of the coupling socket (20), into which expansion space (25) the rubber cone (13) can thermally expand. A particular advantage of this design lies in the fact that, by virtue of the thermal changes on account of highly fluctuating operating temperatures of the connected devices, the high-voltage strength is not impaired even after a large number of such temperature cycles.

  • Patent number: 7204707
Abstract: In a floating connector (101) including a fitting portion (20) and a fixed portion (40), a supporting mechanism (1) is connected to the fitting portion and the fixed portion to support the fitting portion to the fixed portion so that the fitting portion may float in a fitting direction (26) of a mating connector (102). A floating control mechanism (22, 25) is arranged between the fitting portion and the fixed portion. When the mating connector is not fitted to the floating connector, the floating control mechanism locks or inhibits the floating of the fitting portion. However, the floating control mechanism enables the floating of the fitting portion in response to a fitting operation of the mating connector to the floating connecter. Use of the mating connector causes motion of a slide plate (22) and rotation of a stopper (25) about an axis (25a, 13) and results in release of the fitting portion (20) to enable it to float in a selected direction.
