Abstract: A water quality analyzer comprises: sensor electrodes 1a, 1b made of different metals from each other, the electrodes in a liquid of inspecting object generating a sense voltage in proportion to the liquid's impurities concentration; an operational amplifier OP1 amplifying the sense voltage without inverting to provide for a CPU 3; a resistor R0 whose one end is connected to the electrode 1a; and a voltage divider 2 applying a voltage obtained by dividing the sense voltage by a prescribed division ratio to R0's another end. The CPU 3 calculates input signal from OP1 to obtain chlorine concentration and displays the calculated result on a LCD 4 in a measurement mode, and sets the division ratio of the divider 2 so that sense voltage across electrodes 1a, 1b soaked in a liquid including prescribed concentration chloride approximately agrees with a reference voltage of prescribed concentration in a sense-voltage calibration mode.

  • Publication number: 20070084723
Abstract: A gas sensor element is designed to determine the concentration of a selected component contained in gas and includes a sensor cell. The sensor cell is equipped with two electrodes one of which is exposed to a gas chamber into which the gas flows from outside the gas sensor element. The electrodes connect with leads extending to external terminals exposed to the atmospheric air. One of the leads connecting with one of the electrodes exposed to the gas chamber is made of material which includes a mixture of a metallic composition and a ceramic composition and contains 7% or less by weight of the ceramic composition based on a total weight of the mixture. This results in a decrease in porosity of the lead, which reduces the intrusion of oxygen gas into the gas chamber, thereby enhancing the accuracy in determining the concentration of the selected component of the gas.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system for recovering gas produced during electrodialysis of a saline solution, from gas entrained in an electrolyte solution circulating through anode and cathode compartments of an electrodialysis (ED) unit. In one embodiment, the system provides separate catholyte and anolyte towers within a closed, re-circulating loop between the cathode and anode compartments. Each tower comprises an inlet at which the entrained gas separates from the electrolyte solution and flows into the headspace. One can recover residual gases from the electrolyte solution in one more additional apparatus. Preferably, hydrogen gas is separated from the catholyte solution and, more preferably, further purified for use as a fuel source in alternative power generating devices, such as a fuel cell or bio-fuel generator, useful in the unit operations of a water treatment system.

This method uses a set temperature value and temperature error setting to perform on-off switching with the range of temperature error setting after an automatic tune is activated. An amplitude for the highest and the lowest temperature curve is obtained. An integration is calculated based on the amplitude, the temperature value and the lowest temperature to obtain an estimated control initiation value for PID controller performing temperature. A stabilizing integration value is added when temperature is near a preset value to reduce temperature reaction time. Abstract: The present invention relates to a catalytic composition which comprises a beta zeolite, a metal of group VIII, a metal of group VI B and optionally one or more oxides as carrier. The catalytic system of the present invention can be used for the hydrotreating of hydrocarbon mixtures and more specifically in the upgrading of hydrocarbon mixtures having boiling ranges within the range of 35° to 250° C., containing sulfur impurities, i.e. in hydrodesulfuration with contemporaneous skeleton isomerization and a reduced hydrogenation degree of olefins contained in said hydrocarbon mixtures, the whole process being carried out in a single step.

Abstract: A pump device is realized, which accurately detects a flow rate of a pump, performs real-time control of the flow rate, and thus can suppress a flow rate error caused by occurrence of pulsation. Control of a pump rotation speed by a pressure sensor has low responsiveness in a low pressure region, and a correlation between a pressure and a flow rate is incomplete in a high flow rate region. With this taken into consideration, a flow rate sensor 10 is disposed at an outlet port 9 of a second pump 4. A position detection sensor 14 detects a point where a first pump 3 is shifted from a suction mode to a discharge mode. Moreover, the flow rate sensor 10 detects that there is no discharge from the pump 3, and that there is discharge from the pump 4 alone. Accordingly, a controller 15 sets a rotation speed of a motor 12 to a speed double the previous speed (double the normal rotation speed).
