  • Patent number: 7214000
Abstract: An unobtrusive on-grade barrier. One embodiment comprises a concrete-lined trench over which a biased hinged plate is affixed to an end wall of the trench. The biased hinge holds the free end of the plate against a tab affixed to the other end wall, assuring the plate does not rise above grade. The plate is supported for vehicle passage by a sliding mechanism energized by an actuator controlled by a controller that may be automated or operated by security personnel. The barrier may be configured so that vehicles may approach from either end. Upon authorizing access to the driver, the vehicle is permitted to pass over the supported plate. If the driver is not authorized access, the support is slid out of the way and any vehicle attempting to pass slides into the trench. • Patent number: 7214028
Abstract: A method and apparatus for supplying bulk material to an end user includes the step of providing a bulk material source that is at a location distant from the end user and a specially configured vessel and trailer apparatus for transporting the bulk material to the end user. The vessel is filled with bulk material at the bulk material source and then transported with a specially configured trailer. Alternatively, at source or destination, the vessel can remain as a temporary storage device, free-standing from the trailer. During transport between the bulk material source and the end user, the vessel is filled or partially filled with a selected bulk material. During transport, the vessel is in a generally horizontal position, supported by the trailer and a specially configured elevator. The vessel is unloaded from the trailer by moving the vessel longitudinally along the trailer and by transferring the vessel from a generally horizontal position upon the trailer to an elevated upright position.

  • Patent number: 7214029
Abstract: The windmill assembly is a low drag, streamlined body of revolution that captures the kinetic energy content of the accelerated laminar air surrounding the body. The assembly includes a power-generating, wind-driven turbine that is compact, lightweight and capable of producing a substantially greater output than a conventional windmill with a comparable size rotor. The turbine includes a protruding aerodynamic nose and outer cowling that provide a streamlined, wind-collecting inlet section that constricts the incoming air stream and increases its velocity through the turbine blades. The turbine further includes an exit section designed to exhaust the air stream with a minimum of turbulence. One or more generators are coupled to a turbine wheel, and are electrically switched on and off to maximize the energy capture over the full range of ambient winds. The wind turbine assembly may be configured around a blimp-type body having counter-rotating turbine assemblies.

  • Patent number: 7214030
Abstract: The system enables an increase in the guidance length of the outer pivot of the vane, so that the bushing can be extracted without needing to open the stator casing. It mainly includes a bushing placed inside a bossing of the stator, the length of which is greater than the length of the bossing projecting outwards from the bossing. Thus, the contact length of the outer pivot is prolonged. The bushing is terminated at its end by a gripping hook to enable extraction of the bushing by means of a claw. It is advantageously also provided with a positioning edge.

  • Patent number: 7214031
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for a versatile, multi-stage, centrifugal fluids-processing device adaptable to efficiently mixing, blending, emulsifying, deagglomerating or homogenizing fluids. The device comprises a centrifugal-pump-type mechanism comprising an electric motor, an intake screen, an elongate metal body, a central drive shaft extending from the motor to the discharge end of the device. Attached internally to the drive shaft is one impellor per stage, which by rotation of the motor, imparts kinetic energy to the fluid being processed. The fluid discharged from the impellors passes through separate conduits and opposing nozzles into opposite ends of a chamber having the internal shape of an oblate-spheroid with internally-ribbed ceramic walls.

  • Patent number: 7214034
Abstract: A system for controlling a leakage zone under platforms of blades of a turbomachine blade-wheel by liners having edges that flare radially inwards, and that are disposed in inter-blade cavities defined by the platforms, by upstream and downstream radial walls of the blades and by the periphery of the wheel disk. One of the flared edges, upstream or downstream, presents an elastic zone bearing on an inclined surface of the adjacent radial wall relative to a radial plane, such that the liner tends to move axially towards the radial wall facing, under action of centrifugal forces, to improve sealing in the zone, and so that when the wheel stops, the elastic zone moves radially inwards, the liner pivoting around an axis distant from the elastic zone.

  • Patent number: 7214036
Abstract: A screw vacuum pump which allows reduced power, lower inside gas temperature, and reduced discharging time. The pump has a pair of screw rotors rotatively engaged with each other in a pump casing to discharge a gas along a longitudinal direction of the pump. Each rotor has three types of helical teeth serially located in a longitudinal direction of the rotor and different from each other in theoretical displacement volume. A bypass conduit communicating with a delivery side of the pump is connected via a first check valve to a first intermediate space defined between the first helical teeth and the second helical teeth and via a second check valve to a second intermediate space defined between the second helical teeth and the third helical teeth. The gas is compressed at the third stage to half the first stage volume before a discharge port opens.
