Publication number: 20070119543Abstract: In a peeling tape attaching method for attaching a peeling tape (4) on a surface protective film (11) attached on the surface of a wafer (20), the wafer is supported on a movable table (31) with the surface protective film up and the peeling tape is supplied on the surface protective film of the wafer. The movable table is moved in such a manner that an end (28) of the wafer is located under a peeling tape attaching unit (46), and pressure is exerted by pressing the peeling tape attaching unit against the surface protective film of the wafer via the peeling tape. After that, the movable table is moved toward the other end (29) of the wafer, and upon movement of the movable table, by a predetermined distance, from the peeling tape attaching unit, the pressure is canceled. As a result, the wafer is prevented from cracking at the time of attaching the peeling tape. Further, a peeling tape attaching apparatus for carrying out this method is provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2006Publication date: May 31, 2007Inventor: Minoru Ametani

Publication number: 20070119544Abstract: In a method for treating a semiconductor substrate, a single substrate is positioned in a single-substrate process chamber and subjected to wet etching, cleaning and/or drying steps. The single substrate may be exposed to etch or clean chemistry in the single-substrate processing chamber as turbulence is induced in the etch or clean chemistry to thin the boundary layer of fluid attached to the substrate. Megasonic energy and/or disturbances in the chamber surfaces may provide the turbulence for boundary layer thinning. According to another aspect of a method according to the present invention, megasonic energy may be directed into a region within the single-substrate process chamber to create a zone of boundary layer thinning across the substrate surface, and a single substrate may be translated through the zone during a rinsing or cleaning process within the chamber to optimize cleaning/rinsing performance within the zone.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2006Publication date: May 31, 2007Inventors: Eric Hansen, VICTOR MIMKEN, MARTIN BLECK, M. Publication number: 20070119556Abstract: A method for alteration of the morphology of cellulose fibers, particularly softwood fibers, by (a) subjecting the fibers to a metal ion-activated peroxide treatment carried out at a pH of between about 1 and about 9, preferably between 3 and 7, and (b) subjecting the treated fibers to a refining treatment thereby converts SW fibers to HW-like fibers in many respects. The metal ion-activated peroxide treatment has been noted to act on pulp cellulose and hemi-cellulose, causing oxidation and oxidative degradation of cellulose fibers. The chemical treatment of the pulp, taken alone, is not sufficient to attain the desired modification of the morphology of the fibers, however, subsequent refining or like mechanical treatment of the chemically-treated fibers to achieve a given degree of refinement of the fibers requires dramatically less refining energy to achieve a desired end point of refinement and to impart other desirable properties to the pulp.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 24, 2007Publication date: May 31, 2007Inventors: Zheng Tan, Xuan Nguyen, Karen Maurer

Publication number: 20070119587Abstract: A method and apparatus for maintaining the single phase integrity of a deep well formation sample that is removed to the surface comprises a vacuum jacket insulated single working cylinder divided by two free pistons into three variable volume chambers. The intermediate chamber is pre-charged with a fixed quantity of high pressure gas. Wellbore fluid freely admitted to one end chamber bears against one free piston to further compress the gas. The formation sample is pumped into the other end chamber to first, displace the wellbore fluid from the first end chamber and, sequentially, to further compress the gas to preserve the sample phase state upon removal to the surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2007Publication date: May 31, 2007Applicant: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventors: Houman Shammai, John Michaels, James Cernosek, Michael Moody, Phillip Wills

Publication number: 20070119588Abstract: A downhole gas separator includes an external tube having a closed bottom and an open top; and an internal tube positioned eccentrically within the external tube and having an open bottom and a top adapted for connection to a production tube. The internal tube can alternatively be connected to a pump intake. The separator is positioned eccentrically within a casing, and provides for separation of gas from produced fluids before the fluids enter the production tube and/or pump.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2005Publication date: May 31, 2007Inventor: Pedro Gonzalez

Publication number: 20070119589Abstract: A downhole tool string component has a tubular body with a first and second end. At least one end is adapted for axial connection to an adjacent downhole tool string component. A covering, secured at its ends to an outside diameter of the tubular body, forms an enclosure with the tubular body. The covering has a geometry such that when a stress is induced in the sleeve by bending the downhole tool string component, that stress is less than or equal to stress induced in the tubular body. The covering may be a sleeve. Further, the geometry may comprise at least one stress relief groove formed in both an inner surface and an outer surface of the covering.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2005Publication date: May 31, 2007Inventors: David Hall, Scott Dahlgren

Publication number: 20070119590Abstract: An improved apparatus and method for gravel packing is provided. The apparatus includes a substantially tubular-shaped base pipe having a plurality of apertures disposed along part of its length and a dual-wall sand screen coaxially secured to the base pipe. The dual-wall screen is substantially permeable to fluids and impermeable to sand. The apparatus provides a plurality of fluid permeable channels formed within the sand screen, which are disposed along the entire length of the screen. Each channel has an associated plurality of ports spaced along discrete intervals of the screen, which communicate with an annulus formed between the apparatus and the wellbore. The method provides for injecting a sand and fluid slurry mixture through the screen and out of the ports. This design reduces the incidence of sand bridge formation, and packs gravel around any sand bridges, which may be formed.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2007Publication date: May 31, 2007Applicant: BJ SERVICES COMPANY, U.S.AInventor: Donald Michel

Publication number: 20070119591Abstract: A method for releasing a drill string stuck against a wall of a well bore due to pressure differential between the hydrostatic pressure of a fluid in the well bore and the pressure of a formation at the point where the drill string is stuck. The method includes injecting a first fluid into the annulus via the drill string and simultaneously injecting a second fluid into the annulus at an upper end of the annulus. The first fluid and the second fluid are injected into the annulus at a volume and rate sufficient to cause at least one of the first fluid and the second fluid to penetrate the formation and increase the pressure of the formation adjacent the well bore so that the pressure of the formation adjacent the well bore is substantially equalized with the pressure of the well bore. A jarring force is simultaneously exerted to the drill string to cause the drill string to release.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 8, 2007Publication date: May 31, 2007Inventor: Craig Elder
