Abstract: The present invention is a hybrid diesel fuel and method of manufacture. The fuel composes a petroleum diesel fuel mixed into a biosynthetic waste or virgin oil and further containing a stabilizer. The hybrid fuel consists essentially of about 10% to 50% of Diesel Number 1, Diesel Number 2, or Farm Diesel petroleum fuels, and up to 90% filtered and polished biosynthetic oil, measured by volume. The biosynthetic oil can contain all levels of common commercial vegetable and animal fats in any ratio. The hybrid fuel also contains up to about 0.17% stabilizer, which further contains cetane boosters, cleaning agents to remove deposits from the fuel system, a lubricant, demulsifiers, and anti-gelling agents. The invention functions as biocide to inhibit bacterial growth. The invention is substantially equivalent to Diesel Number 2 in terms of power and engine speed, but is cleaner burning and considerably less costly.

Abstract: Disclosed are ceramic honeycomb articles, which are composed predominately of a crystalline phase cordierite composition. The ceramic honeycomb articles possess a microstructure characterized by a unique combination of relatively high porosity between 42% and 56%, and relatively narrow pore size distribution wherein less than 15% of the total porosity has a pore diameter less than 10 ?m, less than 20% of the total porosity has a pore diameter greater than 30 ?m, and dbreadth?1.50 wherein dbreadth=(d90?d10)/d50. The articles exhibits high thermal durability and high filtration efficiency coupled with low pressure drop across the filter. Such ceramic articles are particularly well suited for filtration applications, such as diesel exhaust filters or DPFs. Also disclosed is a method for manufacturing the ceramic article wherein the pore former is preferably potato starch having a median particle diameter greater than 40 ?m.

Abstract: In a swather formed by a tractor and attached heeder for cutting standing crop to form a swath, reel speed and optionally draper speed are controlled relative to ground speed by a control system including a manually operable input and display available to the operator. The control system acts to calibrate” the control output so that the control module has a secondary reference point as to how the PWM valve should function in the event of a speed sensor failure. Instead of using the speed sensor signal as a reference, the control system now compares the set point with the stored table (which may in one example provide 256 values) containing the PWM voltage/current values. These values correspond to a set of actual speed sensor values taken during the profiling procedure, plus extrapolated values equalling 256 points.

Abstract: An electric linear deck lift assembly for raising and lowering in a controlled and accurate manner the cutting deck of a lawnmower to a variety of different heights, including preset heights. An electric motor drives a linear drive rod connected to the cutting deck, thus raising and lowering the cutting deck to particular heights as determined by a positional sensor which monitors the position of the linear drive rod or an encoder which monitors the direction and number of rotations of the electric motor. Also disclosed is a combination of two or more deck lift assemblies for raising and lowering different sides of a cutting deck.

Abstract: This invention is an apparatus for a lawn mower having a rotating blade enclosed by a deck. A grass catching hopper is removably secured to the mower. A first conduit communicates with the deck or, in another embodiment, with a blower which induces increased airflow and moves grass clips and debris to the hopper interior. Controlled and enhanced air flow results from an air flow insert in the first conduit entrance. Air and entrained materials collide with a hopper interior wall, and a large amount of entrained materials drop to the hopper floor. Air and the small amount of entrained materials remaining in it are directed back toward the first wall and through an opening to a centrifugal chamber. Small openings in the chamber permit the passage of air flow and entrained materials into the hopper. Air and what remains of the entrained materials are then drawn out of the chamber and back to the intake of the blower through a second conduit.

Abstract: A rotary mower apparatus includes a center section with a center blade, inner wings with inner and middle blades, and outer wings with outer blades. Rear wheels support rear ends of the decks, and gauge wheels support front portions of the outer wings. A transport mechanism folds the outer wings upward to a transport position over the inner wings, and then folds the inner wings to a transport position upright from outer edges of the center section. A drive is operative to rotate each blade. Beneficially axes of the blades are oriented alternately forward and rearward across a width of the apparatus. A disclosed drive has a main gear box adapted at an input thereof for attachment to a rotating power source, and slip clutch protected power shafts are connected to outputs of the main gear box to drive the blades.
