  • Patent number: 7231757
Abstract: A control system for a cutting reel unit includes a reel-to-bedknife clearance adjusting system. The reel-to-bedknife clearance adjusting system includes at least one actuator operatively connected between the reel and the bedknife, and a sound detector. A controller is signal-connected to the actuator and the sound detector and coordinates the reel-to-bedknife clearance adjustment. During adjustment, reel-to-bedknife clearance is reduced by the actuator until a contact sound between the reel blades and the bedknife is detected and signaled to the controller, which then reverses the actuator and increases the clearance by a pre-selected precise amount.

  • Patent number: 7231760
Abstract: The invention relates to an internal combustion engine which has charge-air supercharging by means of an exhaust-gas turbocharger and secondary air injection, the flow path of which is selected in such a way that the quantity of secondary air injected has an influence on the rotational speed of the turbocharger. By monitoring the rotational speed of the turbocharger, an increase in the rotational speed caused by the secondary air injection is determined, and the quantity of secondary air injected is worked out from the increase in rotational speed. This has the advantage that there is no need for complex temperature-measuring methods as have hitherto been employed. Rotational speed measurement can be carried out contactlessly and with absolutely no wear in particular by means of inductive rotational-speed sensors. Moreover, these inductive rotational-speed sensors can be miniaturized and produced at extremely low cost.

  • Patent number: 7231761
Abstract: An electronic control unit of an internal combustion engine calculates a basic post-injection quantity of temperature increasing means if a deposition quantity of particulate matters deposited on a diesel particulate filter (DPF) exceeds a predetermined value. Then, a final post-injection quantity is calculated by correcting the basic post-injection quantity based on a temperature correction value, which is calculated by multiplying a deviation between DPF upstream exhaust gas temperature and target temperature and past temperature correction values by feedback gains. The feedback gains are switched in accordance with a delay in an exhaust gas temperature change in a present operating state, based on an intake air quantity sensed by an air flow meter. Thus, response can be improved, while maintaining stability.

  • Patent number: 7231762
Abstract: An exhaust header having a recessed sealing surface that receives an annular graphite gasket for affecting a fluid tight seal. The exhaust header further includes one or more exhaust head pipe flanges and one or more exhaust head pipes. Each exhaust head pipe flange is fixedly attached to one of the exhaust head pipes to form a passageway through the exhaust header. During installation, each exhaust head pipe flange is aligned with a passageway from an exhaust port of an internal combustion engine. A one to one registration between the exhaust head pipe flanges and the exhaust ports is achieved. The gasket circumscribes the exhaust port when the exhaust header is aligned with the surface of the internal combustion engine. Torquing of one or more fasteners compresses the gasket against the surface of the internal combustion engine to form the fluid tight seal between the passageways of the exhaust port and the exhaust header.

  • Patent number: 7231763
Abstract: A hydraulic system 10 of the present invention has a hydraulic pump driven by a driving source 14, a hydraulic pump motor 52 driven by an operating oil discharged from the hydraulic pump and flowing in an oil path 50, an inertial body 60 connected to a rotary shaft of the hydraulic pump motor, an oil path 62 connected between an outlet port of the hydraulic pump motor and a load 22, an unloading oil path 64 branched from the oil path 62, and an on-off valve 68 inserted in the unloading oil path. In this configuration, as the on-off valve is opened and closed, a high pressure is generated in the oil path 62 by making use of kinetic energy of the inertial body. The inertial body is driven by hydraulic power and the inertial body is separated from the driving source, which also provides an effect of increasing degrees of freedom for an instrument layout.

  • Patent number: 7231768
Abstract: A fuel delivery system for a gas turbine engine includes a main fuel pump supplying fuel to a fuel-metering device. The operational flow range of the fuel system is dependent on a minimum net positive suction pressure at the main pump inlet required to prevent pump cavitation. A mixture of fuel and dissolved gases increases the minimum net positive suction pressure required to prevent cavitation. A fuel de-aerator including a permeable membrane removes dissolved gases from the fuel to eliminate formation of dissolved gases. The elimination of dissolved gases from within the liquid fuel reduces the required net positive suction pressure, enabling a greater operational flow range.

  • Patent number: 7231781
Abstract: The present invention consists of a system directly related to air blowing fans, but JR Ice Cool Fan is designed to create water vapor in the blowout air. The complete assembly includes a rear small funnel (Zone 1), center connecting tube (Zone 2), where the water release port is situated, float assembly, large front funnel (Zone 3) and two fans. The rear fan will draw the air from the rear and force it towards Zone 2 at the same time the air will get contracted once the air passes the water release port, it will get mixed with water. Again the blowout fan in the front (Zone 3) creates a suction at Zone 2 that again creates a high velocity in Zone 2 which will draw out the water efficiently at the water release port. Once the water mixed air get into the Zone 3, it will experience expansion that will again allow the water to better mix with the air homogeneously before it is blown out. Water to air mix is adjustable; when water release screw is screwed out, the water to air will be less.

  • Patent number: 7231799
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for producing a workpiece with internal toothing, especially an internal geared wheel, by using a cup shaped preform (N) with a substantially cylindrical side wall (N1) and a mandrel (5) with an external profile (6) according to the internal toothing to be produced, as well as with a forming tool which reduces the outside diameter of the cylindrical side wall during an advancing movement, as a result of which the material of the cylinder wall region flows into the external profile (6) of the mandrel (5). In accordance with the invention, the forming tool is configured as a drawing ring (14) ensuring the ironing of the cylinder wall region (N1) during an advancing movement and that two tool elements act upon the preform (N) during the ironing, which tool elements produce axial compressive stresses in the cylinder wall region (N1) of the preform.

  • Patent number: 7231800
Abstract: A method of fabricating an exterior part of a camera is disclosed. The exterior part has an arcuate recess for finger gripping during photography and an arcuately bent portion. The method of fabricating the exterior part includes laminating a plastic protective layer to a surface of a substantially flat stainless steel sheet. An arcuate recess is then formed in the laminated sheet to create a finger grip area. Next, a peripheral flange is formed along a part of the periphery of the sheet, leaving an end portion of the sheet unflanged. The unflanged end portion is manually bent to form an arcuately curved portion with a preliminary curvature. A press die is used to impart a sharper curvature to the curved surface and to perform flanging on the unflanged end portion so as to extend the existing flange along the periphery of the sheet. The extended flange is then ironed to remove any wrinkle.

A signal processing circuit is applied to the sensor. This circuit uses analog multipliers (101–109) and analog adders/subtracters (111–113), and has a function to cancel interference produced in different directions. Within the sensor, two portions (E3, E4–E8) located at positions opposite to each other and producing a displacement therebetween by action of a force are determined. Abstract: A method and apparatus for rapidly preprocessing and analyzing chemical substances, which places a vaporization bottle containing a sample inside a microwave device and uses a magneton driving device to drive the magneton inside the vaporization bottle to rotate as to stir the sample liquid even. In the meantime, the radiation of the electromagnetic wave of the microwave device is used to activate the molecules of the sample liquid to move, causing the tested chemical substance in the sample liquid to be vaporized in a very short time. Therefore, the tested chemical substance can be absorbed or adsorbed by the absorbing medium to greatly reduce the sample preprocessing time and increase the quantity of the tested chemical substance sample. The detection limits of a tested chemical substance are therefore lowered without using organic solvents.
