The outwardly projection domes of the laterally elongate panels can have a variety of shapes.

Abstract: A gift wrapping package is provided which provides enhanced ornamentation and ease of wrapping of gifts for special events. The gift wrapping package includes a flat base and a dome-like cover which forms a central cavity. The dome-like cover is retractable and expandable. In a retracted condition, gifts can be placed within the central cavity. Thereafter, the cover can be closed by expanding and rotating the cover until the dome-like structure is formed. In a preferred embodiment, the gift wrapping package includes a hook or handle for enabling a person to carry a wrapped gift or to hang the gift wrapped package upon objects such as a Christmas tree.

Abstract: An improved underground box and lid for use in irrigation systems and other underground systems is provided. A single box can be inverted, combined and interlocked with a second box to form a single enclosed structure that is twice as high. This can be used for those installations where underground system components are buried in the ground at a greater depth than can be accommodated by a single box.

Abstract: A trashcan assembly includes a container having a bottom wall and a peripheral wall extending upwardly from the bottom wall, a rim of the peripheral wall defining an opening extending into the container; and a bag engaging member located in an area of the peripheral wall. The bag engaging member is generally coplanar with the peripheral wall in the area and is configured for receiving a portion of a trash bag for securing the trash bag to an outer surface of the peripheral wall. A trash bag may be extended over the rim and secured to the peripheral wall with the bag engaging member.

Abstract: The invention provides a drink mixing cup for fluids comprising an outer chamber having an outer rim disposed at its top and a chamber disposed inside the outer chamber having an inner rim disposed below the outer rim by an amount selected to optimize mixing fluids poured from said chambers when drunk by humans while not interfering with their noses. The design allows for nesting of cups to reduce storage space. Anti-nesting ribs prevent fill nesting so that separation of cups is not difficult. When thin wall made from plastic are used and the inner chamber is elevated, the fluid in the inner chamber is thermally insulated. When inverted, the cups can serve as a single shot drinking glass.

Abstract: A food container preferably for heated food, has a lid member and a base member. The base member has complimentary embossed portions in the bottom of the base member to engage a complimentary indented portion in the top surface of the lid member. The retaining mechanism allows containers to be stacked so as to secure each container while allowing steam to escape from the lid of a container. Also, a fluid return system retains fluid in the container and promotes flow of fluid into the bottom of the container.

Abstract: An improved no-spill cup construction and valve assembly which provides an extremely secure seal against accidental liquid flow from the cup spout. The act of sucking at the cup spout creates negative pressure or a partial vacuum against a valve member near the spout having an opening therein, causing the valve member and opening to move off of a protruding member, thereby unblocking the opening in the valve. When the opening is unblocked, liquid can flow freely through the valve and spout. When not in use, the valve sits in a resting, closed position, with the opening in the valve sitting on a protruding member and pressed against the protruding member's base, sealing off the opening in the valve assembly. The closed position provides an extremely secure seal against fluid leakage, such that inadvertent spills or even deliberate attempts to force liquid outside of the cup, such as by turning the cup upside down, or shaking the cup, are ineffective.

Abstract: A container is formed in a blank having two body halves interconnected by a hinge. The container body is at least partially clear to allow inspection of an article held in the interior. The container optionally includes an integrally formed carrying handle. Empty containers are nested to minimize shipping space. Each container optionally includes stack-stabilizing structure so that plural containers may be stacked into stable stacks, and any selected container may be easily removed from the stack. The inventive container protects articles held therein during shipping and storage, and displays the articles both before and after sale.

The system includes a friction reducing element located between a hanger hook of the hanger and a supporting rod. The friction reducing element can also include low friction material on the rod which is either integral therewith or retrofitted thereto. Optionally, lateral force displacement magnets or laterally extending arms will aid in the lateral displacement the hanger relative to other hangers.

Abstract: The present invention is an apparel apparatus that is especially useful for hanging narrow or small necked shirts and sweaters. It is a collapsible garment hanger, or clothing hanger, that has moving parts. There are two hanger arms that rotate about pins on a hanger body, and there is a fulcrum about which a quick-release lever and release tabs pivot so that a locking mechanism can be manipulated. All of the parts used with the apparatus are inexpensive plastic parts that can be injection molded, and the apparatus can be quickly assembled by snapping parts together.

A band portion fastens the pocket portion on an arm of a wearer. A vibration transmitting member is arranged on the rear portion. Thus, the vibration transmitting member contacts the holder for a portable wireless instrument and the arm of a wearer. Abstract: Provided are a small tape feeder for a component mounter, which can transfer one or more strips of tape and can insert the tapes into a tape guide easily and precisely, and a method of automatically setting a tape initial position for such a tape feeder. The tape feeder includes a frame; at least one index pin, which is mounted on one side of the frame and transfers a tape by being inserted into one of tape holes, in which electronic components are received, and moves forwardly; a pin moving unit, which includes a pin horizontally moving member for horizontally moving the index pin, and a pin vertically moving member for vertically moving the index pin so that the index pin can be inserted into or removed from the tape hole; and a top cover discharging unit, which is installed on the other side of the frame and discharges a top cover detached from the tape.

Abstract: A hand operated stapling tool, which uses the energy stored in a spring to install staples by an impact blow, is disclosed. A housing body is preferably cast or molded. A handle is pivotally attached to the rear end of the housing body, pressing down the handle stores energy in a power spring by bending the middle section of the power spring, and further pressing down the handle unlocks the front end of the power spring which forces a driving blade to move downward and expels a staple out of the bottom of the housing body. A staple feeding track is formed at the bottom of the housing body, and the stored staples are secured by a rear-hinged panel.

One embodiment includes a method of forming a MEMS device assembly, including forming an active MEMS region on a substrate. A plurality of bonding pads electrically coupled to the active MEMS region are formed. A seal ring wetting layer is also formed on the substrate, the seal ring wetting layer surrounding the active MEMS region. A single piece solder preform is positioned on the bonding pads and on the seal ring wetting layer, the single piece solder preform including a seal ring region and a bonding pad region. The seal ring region is connected to the bonding pad region by a plurality of solder bridges. The method also includes heating the single piece solder preform to a temperature above the reflow temperature, so that the bridges split and the solder from the preform accumulates on the seal ring wetting layer and the bonding pads. A lid is coupled to the solder.

Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a system and method for distributing an open transaction instrument. The system includes the steps of: accessibly offering for sale, in a retail environment, the open transaction instrument; selling a selected open transaction instrument; and enabling the use of the open transaction instrument. The transaction instrument may be, for example, an open pre-paid card. Furthermore, accessibly offering the open pre-paid card for sale, in one exemplary embodiment, is performed by hanging the pre-paid card on a rack. The distribution of the open transaction instrument may also comprise the step of sending a message, in substantially real time, causing the pre-paid open transaction instrument to be funded but not activated. Abstract: Systems and methods for event driven baggage management are disclosed. Readers are used to detect and monitor the location of tags attached to baggage as the baggage moves from the point at which a traveler drops of the baggage at the origin of a trip to the point at which the traveler picks up the baggage at a destination location. Methods and systems that are capable of detecting when a bag has been lost or misdirected and searching for the lost or misdirected bag are also disclosed. Notification may be sent directly to a traveler or the carrier when specified baggage events occur. Additionally, systems and methods for communicating a destination of an object to a wireless earphone device worn by an object handler are also disclosed.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for creating and recording both an electronic and printed ballot for each voter during voting. The system can employ a variety of vote selection techniques, all of which can lead to the generation of an electronic tally of the vote in addition to the printing of a paper ballot. The printed ballot includes only the names of the candidates for whom the voter has voted in a form that is easily readable by both humans and machine. This unambiguous printed ballot makes it easy for voters to verify the accuracy of their intended vote and can subsequently be used to cast the voter's official vote or saved to provide an audit trail for subsequent confirmation of the electronic tally. These and other features accelerate the initial tabulation of results while providing multiple safeguards against fraud through the printing of a paper record for verifying voter intent.

Abstract: A digital imaging-based bar code symbol reading device comprises: an automatic object presence detection subsystem; an image formation and detection subsystem employing a CMOS area-type image sensing array; an LED-based illumination subsystem; an automatic light exposure measurement and illumination control subsystem; an image capturing and buffering subsystem; an image-processing bar code symbol reading subsystem; an input/output subsystem; and a system control subsystem for controlling the subsystems. The LED-based illumination subsystem is automatically driven by the automatic light exposure measurement and control subsystem responsive to the generation of control activation signals by the image sensing array and the automatic object presence detection subsystem during object illumination and image capture operations.

Abstract: An optical scanning system in which plural scan lines are sequentially scanned, and parameters association with the scanning are monitored. If one or more parameters change during the scanning operation, the system automatically begins rescanning, rather than continuing to scan the entire frame. This results in a system that operates more quickly than prior art systems, which have to waste an entire frame.

In a preferred embodiment, different patterns are projected from different apertures in the scanner housing, one scan pattern optimized for handheld operation and the other optimized for fixed operation. Other optimizable features include the presence or absence of an aiming beam, which may be generated from the same laser source as the scan pattern or from another source, and enabling or disabling decoding of the received signal during a portion of a facet wheel rotation.
