  • Patent number: 7246412
Abstract: A hanger hinge is used to suspend panels of a folding door or window from an overhead track. The hanger hinge has a hanger bolt with an externally threaded lower end on which a nut is threaded by a tool. The nut is located within a sleeve which engages the bolt to prevent relative rotation between the sleeve and the bolt. At least one hinge leaf is pivotally mounted on the hanger bolt and supported on the sleeve. Each hinge leaf is adapted to be fixed to a respective panel, and the position of the panel(s) is dependent on the extent to which the nut is threaded onto the hanger bolt. A key clip is used to lock the nut rotationally relative to the sleeve, so that the nut cannot rotate relative to the hanger bolt. The key clip is automatically disengaged when the tool is inserted in the nut, to permit the nut to turn relative to the bolt.

  • Patent number: 7246413
Abstract: A magnetic knob is provided for use with a series of plates attached to threaded mounts which may be substituted for kitchen or bathroom cabinet door or drawer knobs. The user simply unscrews existing kitchen and/or bathroom cabinet knobs and replaces them with flat metal plates attached to threaded shafts. The metal plates are a direct replacement for the existing knobs and may not require any drilling or screwing or even use of tools. Once installed, the metal plates provide no means of gripping. Thus, the cabinet cannot be opened by a child or other unauthorized user (e.g., mentally handicapped individual). A knob provided with a strong magnet is provided so that an authorized user may attach the knob to one of the metal plates and thus open the cabinet.

  • Patent number: 7246418
Abstract: The felting needle according to the invention comprises a working part (12) with two partial sections (15, 16), each of which is preferably embodied with straight edges. The two partial sections are twisted slightly, relative to each other. Each partial section is provided with at least one ring of indentations with the indentations arranged offset to each other in axial direction. As a result, all notches are oriented uniformly in the direction of the longitudinal axis (14), despite the slight twisting of the section between the two partial sections (15, 16). The felting needle can thus be used to produce fleece materials and needle-punched felt materials, which have a nearly uniform tearing resistance in longitudinal as well as lateral direction.

  • Patent number: 7246423
Abstract: A system and a method for in-line production of insulated glass units (IGU) for custom windows. The system and method schedule IGU production based on the order in which the cut glass is available, or broken out, from a glass cutting station. Once the IGUs are assembled, they are then sorted into the order in which they are to be further processed, i.e., into the order in which the corresponding windows are to be produced and shipped. Thus, the sorting, or carting, step occurs after the cut glass is contained in sealed IGUs, and the workers who perform the sorting step do not have to directly handle the pieces of cut glass.

  • Patent number: 7246427
Abstract: Biasing schemes used for CIP GMR devices were previously thought to be impractical for CPP devices due to current shunting by the abutted hard magnets. In the present invention the CPP stripe is a narrow conductor directly above the free layer. The resistivity of the latter is made to be relatively high so the sensing current diverges very little as it passes through it. This makes it possible to use abutted hard magnets for longitudinal bias with virtually no loss of sensing current due to shunting by the magnets.

  • Patent number: 7246429
Abstract: The invention is directed to performing of an effective checking and aligning operation of component pick-up positions at component feeding units used for manufacturing by performing the operation sequentially at a time. A board recognition camera takes an image of a feeding position of a component feeding unit and the image is displayed being superimposed over a graphic image of a suction nozzle on a CRT. When an operator operates a trackball to move a cursor to an “execute visual alignment” menu and clicks a left button there, the stored image (memory image) becomes movable freely in any direction according to a trackball operation. The stored image (memory image) is moved to match a cross line and an outline of a graphic suction nozzle (component pick-up position) for visual alignment with a component feeding position. Then, the operator clicks both right and left buttons of the trackball to store an alignment value of the position in a RAM.

  • Patent number: 7246430
Abstract: In an electronic component mounting apparatus, a vertical load and horizontal loads applied to an electronic component are detected by a load sensor that has piezoelectric elements provided in a stack in a mounting direction of the electronic component. Therefore, a size in a horizontal direction of the load sensor can be reduced, and a load applied to the electronic component can be detected at a neighborhood of a mounting position of the electronic component. Moreover, by comparing a position, in a two-dimensional space in which load values in an X-direction and Y-direction of the horizontal load serve as coordinate values, with a tolerance range in the two-dimensional space, a mounting failure can be detected from a deviation in the horizontal loads.

  • Patent number: 7246434
Abstract: A printed-circuit board (PCB) module has co-planar solder pads on a bottom surface. The solder pads can be surface-mounted to pads on a main board, allowing the PCB module to be surface mounted without wire leads extending from the PCB module substrate. A cavity is formed between the solder pads on the bottom surface. The cavity is formed by milling away some of the thickness of a sacrificial insulator layer, which is the insulator layer under the solder-pad metal layer. The sacrificial insulator layer can be made thicker to allow for milling the cavity without milling into inner metal layers on the PCB module. After milling away much of the sacrificial insulator layer, stand-offs remain under the solder pads, providing a stand-off gap between the top of the cavity and the solder pads when soldered to the main board. The stand-off gap allows for cleaning under the PCB module.

The longitudinal member has at least one indicia for marking the installation location of the second portion of the alarm assembly on a second door. A flange extends from the second end of the central member in a plane perpendicular to that of the central member. The flange includes at least one indicia for marking the installation location of the second portion of the alarm member on a doorframe.

  • Patent number: 7246450
Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing that has front and side faces. The side face has a linear shape provided with a longitudinal length smaller than a diameter of the front face. Coextensively shaped top and bottom conductive clamps are coupled to the side face and spaced from the front face. The bottom clamp is stationary and the top clamp is linearly displaced along the side face. The clamps form a closed electrical circuit when engaged with the fastener. A controller is coupled to the top clamp so that the top clamp is linearly displaced downwardly and upwardly when the controller is rotated along first and second directions. A mechanism is included for measuring a voltage level when the clamps contact the fastener. The voltage level is proportionally adjusted based upon the size of the fastener such that the voltage level increases when a linear distance between the clamps increases.
