  • Patent number: 7249787
Abstract: A hose coupling using at least one reinforcing ring to reinforce a hose coupling during a crimping process, the hose coupling having an inner sleeve, an outer sleeve coaxial with the inner sleeve, and a hose coaxially interposed therebetween. During the crimping process a crimping force is applied directly to the outer sleeve to form at least one depression that results in an area of peak crimp force on the inner sleeve, the depression helping to seal and lock the hose between the inner and outer sleeves. The reinforcing ring is positioned within the inner sleeve and concentric with the area of peak crimp force on the inner sleeve. Consequently, the reinforcing ring prevents the inner sleeve from deforming under the crimping force, thereby ensuring the integrity and long-term durability of the hose coupling.

  • Patent number: 7249789
Abstract: A novel design for the connection of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) casing. Each length of casing has a male end and a female end. The female end has a narrowing interior diameter with its wider interior diameter at its outermost end sufficient to receive the male end of similar length of casing for connection. The diameter of the female end narrows to a diameter which is less than the outer diameter of the male end. The male end has a lip at its leading edge and is slotted and compressible when forced through the narrowed diameter of the female end. A groove in the interior surface of the female end is sufficient to receive the lip at the leading edge of the male end. When the lip at the leading edge of the male end reaches the groove, it allows the compressed male end to expand with the groove receiving the lip therein. The connected lengths of casing are locked together in this manner.

  • Patent number: 7249807
Abstract: A vehicle braking force control device for executing a follow-up (or servo) control of braking force for individual wheels is improved for canceling the difference of braking force between left and right wheels especially during transient condition of braking force variation due to the difference of input-output response characteristics in braking force generating apparatuses and components associated therewith in a braking system. In the inventive control device, a relation between actual values of braking force on left and right wheels, such as the difference between braking force or pressure values on the left and right wheels, is fed back to these braking force generating apparatuses through the modification of target barking force or pressure values. The modification amounts of the target values may be determined so as to keep appropriate braking force distribution among front and rear wheels.

  • Patent number: 7249809
Abstract: In a method and a device for monitoring a brake system, e.g., a wheel pressure sensor suite of a brake system of a motor vehicle, the fault detection is implemented on the basis of a differential threshold being exceeded by a signal that is representative for the difference of the brake pressures at the individual wheel brakes of a wheel axle. In the process, the differential threshold is set as a function of the averaged rate of increase of the individual pressures at the wheel brakes. Fault detection is carried out on the basis of a model, which takes the instantaneous operating state of the brake system into account.

  • Patent number: 7249812
Abstract: A frame structure includes a first end wall having first and second ends in a top edge. A second end wall is spaced apart from the first end wall and generally parallel orientation relative to the first end wall. The second end wall has first and second ends in a top edge. A pair of side walls extend between the first and second end walls. The first side wall of the pair of side walls is connected at a first end to the first end wall first end and at a second end to the second end wall first end. A second side wall of the pair of side walls is connected at a first end to the first end wall second wall and at a second end to the second end wall second end. The end walls and the side walls define a base cavity. The pair of sidewalls have upper portions that extend a selected distance beyond the top edges of the first and second end walls. A first pair of slide mechanisms is mounted on the upper portions of the pair of side walls.

  • Patent number: 7249819
Abstract: The presence of a radio frequency signature (88) on a cut sheet of print media (28) is detected by a radio frequency interrogating device (94) to determine it's relative left/right position on the print media (28). Either the leading edge (124) or trailing edge (126) of the print media (28) is detected by one or more print media sensors (86, 90). A print controller (24) can note the time (t1) when print media is detected and cause the radio frequency interrogating device (94) to detect the radio frequency signature (88) at a time (t2) when the print media has reached a predetermined point along the print media pathway (110). The position of the radio frequency signature (88) on the print media (28) can be calculated using the time differential (t2-t1) and the known angular displacement of the radio frequency interrogating device (94).
