Publication number: 20070175698Abstract: The invention is a device capable of providing fall protection for a climber, which enables the climber to remain suspended after a fall, or to descend in a controlled manner. The device utilizes a safety line, which is governed by a novel combination of: a mechanism which applies a continuous level of resistance to the safety line, and a variable force which pulls on the safety line in the opposite direction of a climber's descent during a fall. Together, these two forces serve to hinder the free travel of the safety line in the direction of a fall. The variable opposing force, when fully applied to the safety line, combines with the continuously applied resistance to arrest the climber's fall. However, when this opposing force is applied to a lesser degree, the combination of resistance applied against the safety line is not sufficient to suspend the climber, and the climber can descend.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 24, 2007Publication date: August 2, 2007Inventor: Thomas Dale Ketring

Publication number: 20070175716Abstract: A car's shock absorber equipped for a generator produces electrical power and charges a hybrid car's battery, making use of the up-and-down vibration of a running car's shock absorbers. A shock absorber generator equips induction coils inside shock absorber's cylinder cover and permanent magnet rings outside a cylinder piston, so that a shock absorber transfers vibration power to electrical power with inductive action produced between induction coils and magnet rings inside the shock absorber. The vibration width of a shock absorber is between 0.25 inch and 0.5 inch, and the average vibration width is 0.375 inch so that vibration width is narrow, but the power of vibration is high enough to generate electricity, especially for heavy vehicles. With use of that vibration power, a shock absorber generates electricity and stores electric power in a hybrid car battery. As the driving period is prolonged, the shock absorber is able to generate larger amounts of electricity.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 2, 2006Publication date: August 2, 2007Inventors: David Kim, Sam Kim

Publication number: 20070175734Abstract: A method and device for individually transporting articles of different type, size, weight, material or shape to one delivery location of a plurality of delivery locations that is designated for the respective article. The articles are placed one by one in respective transport containers, and the respective article is caused at a desired respective delivery location to be transferred from its transport container to a collecting or storage bin, distintegrator or further conveyor dedicated to the article, the transport container at the designated delivery location being made to discharge the article under the effect of gravity or with the aid of a separate, controlled actuating means. The respective article is identified prior to it being placed in a transport container. Identification may, for example, be related to the material of which the article is made.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 7, 2005Publication date: August 2, 2007Applicant: TOMRA SYSTEMS ASAInventors: Geir Stang Hauge, Svein Idsoe, Tore Torvbraten

Publication number: 20070175735Abstract: The invention relates to a connective link for a conveyor belt, which comprises legs extending in a longitudinal direction from a lateral cross-member at a closed first end and to an open second end, and defining laterally aligned first apertures on each of said legs at said closed end for reception of a rod, and laterally aligned second apertures at said open end for reception of a rod, wherein at least one leg is extended in longitudinal direction over a distance from the second aperture. The invention further relates to a conveyor belt comprising said connective links.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 2, 2004Publication date: August 2, 2007Applicant: ASHWORTH JONGE POERINK B.V.Inventor: Willem Faassen

Publication number: 20070175736Abstract: A modular plastic conveyor belt is designed to turn a tight radius in one direction only. Particularly it is designed for use as a spiral conveyor belt, the belt can turn in the opposite direction, but with a much larger radius. At the outer edge of the belt, the link ends or knuckles are larger and heavier for increased strength in accepting tension at the outer edge of the belt. The outside knuckles or link ends are not only wider than at the inside, but they also are longer, with increased material beyond the rod opening for increased tension strength. By having wider link members at the inner edge, the belt can collapse more closely at the inner edge than would be possible if the turn were in the other direction, providing a tighter radius of turn. This is useful in spiral conveyors which ordinarily turn in only one direction through the entire path of travel.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 30, 2006Publication date: August 2, 2007Inventors: William Bickel, Jeffrey Delair

Publication number: 20070175737Abstract: A conveyor comprises an endless thermoplastic belt having a substantially flat surface on one side of the belt and a plurality of teeth on the other side of the belt. The teeth are adapted to be driven without tension around a drive sprocket and an idler. The conveyor further includes means to cause the belt to form a longitudinal trough between the drive sprocket and the idler to retain conveyed items on the belt. The means can comprise a discontinuity in the teeth, shortened teeth, and/or guides that apply a force to the edges of the belt.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 31, 2006Publication date: August 2, 2007Applicant: MOL BELTING COMPANYInventors: James Honeycutt, Allen Hatfield

Publication number: 20070175738Abstract: A conveyor belt including a plurality of link elements, and a pivot rod with a button head at one end. The button head is sized to pass through an outer opening and be received in a first edge extension when in a particular orientation. The pivot rod is retained with the button head received in the first edge extension by rotating the button head so that the button head is misaligned with respect to the first dimension of the outer opening. A method for assembling a conveyor belt is also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2005Publication date: August 2, 2007Applicant: Ashworth Bros. Inc.Inventors: D. Neely, Aaron Neely

Publication number: 20070175739Abstract: A locking apparatus for a manual actuation device of a switchboard plant has a trigger mechanism that is activated by an absence of a backup or a defective backup, and a locking mechanism for the manual actuation device. The locking mechanism is coupled to the trigger mechanism and is transferable by the trigger mechanism from a first position releasing the manual actuation device into a second position locking the manual actuation device. The locking apparatus has a simple and cost-effective construction, it is proposed that the locking mechanism has a cover plate which is displaceable between two positions by the trigger mechanism and which, in its first position, blocks a lever configuration under tensile force, of the locking mechanism and, in its second position, releases the lever configuration in order to lock the manual actuation device.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2007Publication date: August 2, 2007Inventors: Clemens Albert, Markus Hornbach

Publication number: 20070175740Abstract: A mechanical power breaker for a vehicle has a casing, a power input, a master power output, and a breaker positioned in the casing and electrically connected between the power input and master power output. The breaker has a seat, a conductive connector, a moving element, and a first and second resilient supports. The conductive connector is held in seat by the first resilient support and formed by multiple conductive blocks stacked together. The conductive connector and first resilient support are electrically connected between the power input and the master power output. The hollow moving element is held in the seat by the second resilient supports to surround the conductive connector. If the casing is shaken, the moving element is moved to hit the conductive connector. The conductive connector is separated into the multiple conductive blocks to disconnect the electronic connection between the power input and master power output.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 31, 2006Publication date: August 2, 2007Inventor: Ling-Hsin Lin

Publication number: 20070175741Abstract: A cam structure is pivotally moving between electronic parts to act on the other parts, which enables the action on said other parts upon pivotal movement to be varied by partly modifying a cam shape of the cam structure. For example, when the cam structure is pivotally moved in a connector to bring contacts into contact with a connecting object inserted in the connector, contact pressure of the contacts is controlled by partly modifying the cam shape of the cam structure. The cam structure has advantages that its cam portion can be pivotally moved by a slight force without requiring any large force and being capable of shifting the timing at which the cam contacts the mating parts depending upon customers specifications.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 2, 2007Publication date: August 2, 2007Inventor: Takeki Fukazawa
