Abstract: A modular ballistic abatement barrier system (10) includes a first corrugated panel (12) having at least one aperture (13), a second corrugated panel (16) having at least one aperture (17), and a ballistic cloth (14) placed between the first corrugated panel and the second corrugated panel. The ballistic cloth can also include at least one aperture (15). The first corrugated panel and the second corrugated panel are coupled using at least one among a mechanical bond and a chemical bond. For example, the ballistic cloth can be laminated between the first corrugated panel and the second corrugated panel to form a multi-layered panel. Alternatively, the first corrugated panel, the ballistic cloth, and the second corrugated panel can be coupled together using a fastener that compresses the ballistic cloth between the first corrugated panel and the second corrugated panel.

The apparatus has a conveyor that orients the product along a longitudinal axis and delivers the food article to a tray disposed below the conveyor so the product drops from the conveyor and onto the tray. The tray and conveyor move at speeds selected so the product maintains its longitudinal orientation as it drops from the conveyor into the product tray. A bag scoop holds the bag mouth open while the tray carrying the product advances into the bag. A product stripper moves into a position behind the bagged product after passage of the tray so that when the tray returns to its start position, the stripper butts against the end of the product and holds the product while the tray slides out of the bag.

Abstract: This apparatus is a cutting assembly commonly used as a trimmer with a mower deck combination but not limited to such a combination. This trimmer head assembly utilizes a high lift mower blade in combination with a string or line trimming blade in a housing which creates a vortex of air which draws grass and weeds toward the assembly where they may be cut with the rotating line. By drawing grass and weeds towards the assembly and away from obstructions this cutting assembly results in a closer cut than may be achieved with a conventional trimmer. Because grass and weeds are drawn away from obstructions and cut, the trimming string does not make contact with obstructions and therefore causes no damage to objects such as gravestones, fences, etc. This cutting assembly may be adapted for use on a variety of lawn and grounds keeping equipment such as hand held string trimmers, walk behind trimmers, or in place of a normal mowing assemblies on riding or push lawnmowers.

Abstract: When urea water U is injected by an addition nozzle 7 upstream of a NOx reduction catalyst 6 incorporated in the passage 5 so as to reduce and purify NOx in exhaust gas G, a target adsorption amount curve is set by shifting to lower temperature side a saturated adsorption amount curve of ammonia to the catalyst. A target adsorption amount of the reducing agent corresponding to the catalyst temperature is calculated and an actual adsorption amount of the reducing agent to the catalyst is determined. The amount of the urea water U to be added upstream of the catalyst is reduced when the actual adsorption amount reaches the target adsorption amount, and is increased when the actual adsorption amount is lower than the target adsorption amount. Thus, the adsorption amount of ammonia is secured while preventing ammonia from adsorbing so as to save the urea water U.

A control system (22) processes certain data to control engine and diesel particulate filter operation. In response to driver release of the accelerator, the engine decelerates toward idling at a lower low idle speed that has been predetermined appropriate for low idling when the diesel particulate filter is not being regenerated but inappropriate when the diesel particulate filter is being regenerated because of the potential for causing on-going regeneration to become uncontrolled. When the diesel particulate filter is being regenerated, a higher low idle speed sufficiently higher than the lower low idle speed is substituted as the low idle speed set-point essentially eliminating the potential for continuation of on-going diesel particulate filter regeneration becoming uncontrolled as the engine idles.

Abstract: A hydraulic assembly and method for use with an vehicle engine exhaust flow control valve for controlling flow to at least one intake supply. The assembly has an actuator, such as a spring return piston cylinder, for positioning the control valve. An inlet passage, communicating with the cylinder, is arranged for supplying hydraulic fluid to a side of the actuator and a drain is arranged for draining the hydraulic fluid from the side of the actuator. An on-off type hydraulic valve, communicating with the drain, is operably coupled to the cylinder for controlling communication of the hydraulic fluid from the cylinder side to the drain. When the hydraulic assembly is in use, the pressure of hydraulic fluid acting on the actuator is adjustable by operation of the on-off type valve thereby to control movement of the actuator and, in turn, movement of the control valve.

Abstract: The invention relates to a throttle arrangement for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine having a throttle valve for throttling a stream of exhaust gas flowing through a pipe and having a restoring spring which prestresses the throttle valve into a closed position. The throttle valve is pivotable about a pivot axis in the pipe between the closed position [and the open position] and the restoring spring is supported on the valve end on a lever fixedly connected to the throttle valve and is supported at the pipe end on a bearing for accommodating a shaft extending coaxially with the pivot axis. The restoring spring is adapted to support the spring forces on the pipe end in an essentially symmetrical manner with respect to a plane of symmetry that extends perpendicular to the pivot axis and is in the area of the support on the valve end.

Abstract: A hydraulic controlling device in which, when performing a combined operational process, a position of a straight travel valve is switched to a straight travel position to drive both a travel motor and a working actuator by separate pumps. In this case, to prevent a sudden reduction in travel speed resulting from a reduction in a flow amount at a travel side, pump lines of both pumps are connected to each other at an intermediate position by a connection path, so that a portion of oil at a working side is sent towards the travel side. With such a structure, when a rotational speed of an engine is less than a set rotational speed, an opening amount of the connection path is reduced through a straight travel proportional valve by a controller, thereby preventing pressure interference causing, for example, the working actuator to no longer move.

Abstract: A load control device for an engine of a work vehicle that purposes to render the work vehicle, such as a wheel loader or the like, capable of raising a vehicle speed in a short period of time by providing a sufficient traction force when a high traveling load is imposed, without causing degradation of a vehicle body performance, waste of energy, and other problems. The load control device is provided with variable displacement hydraulic pumps (7, 8, 9) being provided with absorption torque changing means (19, 22) for changing absorption torque. A controller (18) determines whether a traveling load is in a high state, and when it has been determined that the traveling load is in the high state, control for lowering the absorption torque for the hydraulic pumps (7, 8, 9) is carried out. This control is carried out, provided, for example, that a “power mode” is selected with the power mode switch (31).

Abstract: An electrical actuator is characterized by applying electrical current directly to a smart wire to produce an output motion. The smart wire is looped around a drive member that is engaged with a moveable member, fixed at both ends to electrical terminals, and contains one or more coils between the electrical terminals and the drive member. Smart wire coils can either be wrapped around a reel in a helical fashion or moveably disposed in flexible tubing for support. Direct electrical current applied to the smart wire results in heating and contraction of the wire. Subsequent removal of electrical current allows the wire to cool and return to its original size and shape. The force and stroke of the electrical actuator can be tailored to meet specific requirements by changing wire diameter and length.
