Abstract: Strain gauges A, B for a bending portion cross each other and are stuck to a strain gauge sticking portion 7 for a bending portion located in a portion applying centrifugal force or centripetal force of a fluid thereto in a bending portion 4 in a bending circular tube 1 formed by bending a tube circulating the fluid therein. Further, strain gauges C, D for compensating static pressure and temperature cross each other and are stuck to a strain gauge sticking portion 11 for a straight tube portion located in a straight tube portion 8 connected to the bending portion 4 in the bending circular tube 1. Detecting signals of strain gauges A, B for a bending portion and strain gauges C, D for compensation are guided to an opposite position of a bridge circuit 12.

Abstract: A method of sampling a multi-phase fluid stream is provided which comprises the steps of: sampling, with a sampling probe, a portion of the fluid stream; measuring the flow rate of said sampled portion; and measuring, independently of the sampling step, the total flow rate of the fluid stream, wherein the flow rate of the sampled portion is controlled according to the ratio of the flow rate of the sampled portion to the flow rate of the fluid stream, in order to obtain substantially isokinetic sampling of the fluid stream. The method may provide isokinetic sampling to an accuracy of 5% or less and preferably only samples a small portion of the fluid stream. The method has particular application for high rate condensate gas wells. A corresponding sampling system is provided which has particular application in the sampling of streams from well-heads.

Abstract: An object of the invention is to realize high-accuracy analysis of a flue gas in terms of a trace amount of ammonia so as to control the level of ammonia gas to be added to a flue gas NOx removal apparatus. Since the ammonia gas to be determined is a highly adsorbable, the gas component is considerably adsorbed on a surface of the flue gas sampling tube during sampling of flue gas. When a conventional sampling method including heating a gas sampling tube is employed, the amount of sampled gas is reduced through adsorption during gas sampling, failing to obtain concentration values at high accuracy. Thus, a high-accuracy gas sampling method replacing a conventional, heating-based method includes completely washing out, with an absorption liquid therefor serving as a washing liquid, a target ammonia gas deposited on the inner wall of a flue gas sampling tube (2), whereby the gas component is thoroughly collected. Through analysis of the thus-obtained washing liquid, high-accuracy analysis can be attained.

Abstract: A scale for calculating a remaining time that gas remains in a cylinder. An electronic scale calculates an actual tare weight of the gas in the cylinder using the total weight of the cylinder with the gas and the weight of the cylinder when empty. The remaining time that gas remains in the cylinder is calculated by the scale using the flow rate of the gas and the actual tare weight of gas in the cylinder. Further, the scale may calculate a percentage of the gas remaining in the cylinder using the actual tare weight of the gas in the cylinder and the maximum tare weight of the gas for the cylinder. By estimating the remaining time that gas remains in the cylinder in this manner, the scale is able to measure gas in pressurized cylinders over a wide range of capacities.

The manufacturing of this crankshaft uses a core that bends in a horizontal direction and has an elliptical cross section in which a major axis extends in a vertical direction at a journal part and/or a pin part.

Abstract: In accordance with certain embodiments, a modular crankshaft features a connection system between modules that features opposed female receptacles. A pin having opposed beveled ends and hydraulic passages with it is inserted into the opposed receptacles. A pair of seals is disposed on the beveled ends and straddles a hydraulic fluid outlet. The crankshaft wall that defines each receptacle is designed to flex in response to applied hydraulic pressure between the seals on the tapered pin portion. A notch at the base of the receptacle in the crankshaft reduces stress concentration and enables the wall defining the crankshaft receptacle to come back when hydraulic pressure through the pin is removed. The opposed crankshaft receptacles are flanged to allow them to be pulled together over the pin. An interference fit results around the pin after the flanges are mated and the hydraulic pressure is removed.

Abstract: A gearbox arrangement includes a gearbox housing, a first shaft supported in bearings in the housing, the first shaft containing a cavity which extends eccentrically to the axis of rotation of the first shaft, a second shaft supported in the cavity for rotation and having an end region projecting from the cavity and being provided with gear teeth, and a third shaft supported in the gear box housing for rotation, with the axis of rotation of the third shaft cooperating with the axis of rotation of the first shaft to define a plane. Leakage of lubricant from the housing is prevented by fastening a plate to the first shaft so as to prevent axial movement of the second shaft while containing an opening for the end region of the second shaft. Sealing devices are provided for all of the openings of the gearbox housing as well as for the opening in the plate in order to prevent the escape of lubricant from the gearbox housing.

Abstract: The present invention is a method for producing Ti or a Ti alloy through reduction of TiCl4 by Ca, which can produce the high-purity metallic Ti or high-purity Ti alloy. A molten salt containing CaCl2 and having Ca dissolved therein is held in a reactor vessel, and a metallic chloride containing TiCl4 is reacted with Ca in the molten salt to generate Ti particles or Ti alloy particles in a molten CaCl2 solution, which allows enhancement of a feed rate of TiCl4 which is of a raw material of Ti, and also allows a continuous operation. Therefore, the high-purity metallic Ti or the high-purity Ti alloy can economically be produced with high efficiency. Further, the method by the present invention eliminates the need of replenishment of expensive metallic Ca and of the operation for separately handling Ca which is highly reactive and difficult to handle.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides an improved system and method of using a speed driver with a shank that can be selectively locked to the handle. Such locking can occur without significant effort or even removing the driver from the fastener during operation. The shank is biased in a first position with the handle for independent rotation in the handle, and selectively engaged with the handle in a second position with the handle. Thus, a speed driver can still offer the relatively rapid rotation from cranking the handle about the shank, yet selectively provide high torque similar to a fixed handle/shank arrangement in a typical screwdriver or other driver.

Abstract: A screw head and screwdriver for use in combination are provided to reduce the occurrence of stripping a screw head during tightening or removing the screw. The head slot employs slot walls that indent in some portion of the wall, the indent portion forming a ledge under which the screwdriver tip may be retentively captured thereby preventing the tip from lifting from the screw slot and stripping the screw head. The screw slot and driver also generally employ a tapered form, such that the slot widens from a central portion out to the outer circumferential edges. The narrow portion of the slot matching in form a narrow portion of the driver tip such that the driver tip tends not to slide off the screw head during use. Utilizing these inventive design concepts prevents the screwdriver tip from slipping off the head and resulting in the need to apply less downward pressure.
