Abstract: A gas sensor includes a heater, leads connecting electrically with terminals of the heater, and a porcelain insulator surrounding the terminals of the heater within an air cover. The gas sensor also includes a recess formed in an end of the porcelain insulator to define a clearance between itself and an inner wall of the air cover. A gas flow path is defined to extend from an inner chamber of the air cover to a ventilator through a clearance between an outer periphery of the porcelain insulator and an inner periphery of the air cover and the recess to lead the gas having entered the inner chamber outside the sensor, thereby minimizing the entrance of the gas into the porcelain insulator to avoid the exposure of the terminals to the gas. In a method of manufacturing the tire condition monitor device, a prebaking process is carried out before aboard protecting process of covering the circuit board with the urethane resin. Since moisture contained in the circuit board is vaporized, the circuit board covered with the urethane resin can reliably be protected from moisture.

Abstract: A redundant pressure transmitter for redundantly measuring pressure of a process fluid comprises a transmitter housing, transmitter circuitry, a remote seal assembly including a first pressure sensor, and a second pressure sensor positioned in the transmitter housing. The remote seal assembly also comprises a remote seal flange, a communication system and a capillary tube. The remote seal flange communicates with the process fluid and the first pressure sensor senses the process fluid pressure at the remote seal flange. The communication system relays output of the first pressure sensor to the transmitter circuitry, and the capillary tube communicates the process fluid pressure to the transmitter housing via a fill fluid, where the second pressure sensor senses the pressure of the process fluid through the fill fluid.

Abstract: A pressure sensor includes a metal housing and a semiconductor chip. The housing has a diaphragm unitary with the housing and an inlet for introducing fluid to the diaphragm. The inlet has a first end exposed to the diaphragm and a second end exposed to an outside of the housing. The housing has a thin-wall portion at the first end of the inlet and the thin-wall portion serves as the diaphragm. The chip is mounted on the diaphragm. The area and thickness of the chip are set so that separation between the chip and diaphragm can be prevented. Since the separation is prevented based on the area and thickness of the chip, there is no need that the diaphragm is made of a material having a thermal expansion coefficient similar to that of the chip.

Abstract: An actuator has an output ram driven to extend and retract by a rotating lead screw. The lead screw is coupled with a rotating input shaft via a lost-motion drive sleeve connected with the input shaft by cooperating threads so that rotation of the drive shaft causes both axial and rotational movement of the drive sleeve. The ram is locked in its retracted position by several radially-extending locking keys, one end of which engage an extension sleeve fixed with the ram and the other end of which are engaged by a lock sleeve. Rotation of the input shaft causes the drive sleeve to move axially and engage the lock sleeve, thereby pulling it to one side and allowing the locking keys to move radially out and disengage the extension sleeve to allow it to extend.
