The method comprises a step for optimizing a contact force ?C received from an environment using acquired floor reaction force data and a step for optimizing the muscle tension ƒ using acquired motion data, acquired myogenic potential data, and optimized contact force. The motion data, reaction force data and myogenic potential data can be measured at the same time by a behavior capture system.

Abstract: A vibrating inertial rate sensor has operational elements that define axes that are rotationally offset or “skewed” from a node or anti-node reference axis. The skew may be relative to separate node or anti-node reference axes, or take the form of an element that is “split” about the same node axis. Both the drive signal and the sense signal may be resolved from a common set of sensing elements. The drive elements may also operate on a skewed axis angle to rotationally offset the vibration pattern to affect active torquing of the gyroscope. Skewed drive elements may be combined with skewed or split elements on the same device. The skewed sensing scheme may be applied to vibratory systems having one or more node axes. The skewed drive scheme may be applied to vibratory systems having two or more node axes to affect active torquing.

Abstract: A high temperature pressure capacitor is fabricated utilizing two high temperature substrate wafers. The substrates may be silicon carbide (SiC) or aluminum nitride (AIN). The first substrate has a metal conductive plate positioned on a top surface thereof. The top surface and plate are covered with a dielectric layer. The second substrate has a plate accommodating recess on the top surface thereof. Deposited in the recess is a second conductive plate. The first and second wafers are bonded together via the dielectric layer where the first and second plates face each other. Upon application of a force to the first wafer the diaphragm portion of the first wafer deflects causing the first plate to move and thereby varying capacitance. An inductor may be fabricated on a bottom surface of the second wafer to provide an LC circuit whose resonant frequency varies as a function of capacitance and therefore as a function of pressure.

Abstract: A three-dimensional micro-electro-mechanical-systems (MEMS) capacitive bending and axial strain sensor capacitor is described. Two independent comb structures, incorporating suspended polysilicon interdigitated fingers, are fabricated simultaneously on a substrate that can displace independently of each other while attached to a substrate undergoing bending or axial deformation. A change in spacing between the interdigitated fingers will output a change in capacitance of the sensor and is the primary mode of operation of the device. On the bottom and to the end of each comb structure, a glass pad is attached to the comb structure to allow for ample surface area for affixing the sensor to a substrate. During fabrication, tethers are used to connect each comb structure to maintain equal spacing between the fingers before attachment to the substrate. After attachment, the tethers are broken to allow independent movement of each comb structure.

The tines of the fork are elongated and adapted for bearing against the body of the meter. A pair of parallel lugs extend normal to the tines adjacent their free end. A rigid U-shaped jaw has a pair of arms rigidly attached thereto and extending normal to the legs of the jaw adjacent the bight, the jaw being adapted to bear against a coupler attached to the end of the conduit. The free ends of the arms are pivotally attached to the lugs, so that the forked handle defines a lever and the lugs and free ends of the arms provide a fulcrum on which the lever pivots.
