Abstract: A folding table is disclosed. The folding table includes two top panels hingedly connected together to form a table top having a top surface and a bottom surface. The table top has a folding action about the hinged connection of the two top panels. Four leg panels depend from the bottom surface of the table top. Each of the leg panels has a first section and a second section. The first section has a top edge hindgedly connected to the bottom surface of the table top and a side edge hingedly connected to the second section. The leg panels are arranged in two pairs of leg panels wherein the second section of each thin leg panel in the respective pair is hingedly connected to the other resulting in a stiff leg member. The hinged action of the two interconnected second panels fall in a plane of symmetry with the folding action of the table top whereby the folding table may be collapsed from a deployed state forming a table to a folded state for storage and portability.

Abstract: Tethering stakes of the nature intended to be pounded flush with or below ground level. Certain of the tethering stakes include a cap on the pounding end which is adapted for ease of placement and release of a tethering line. Accordingly, the tethering line can be removed from the stake when it is to be pounded into the ground and then engaged with the stake only when tethering is desired. Certain of the embodiments include caps having uniquely shaped apertures for securing the tethering line. Another includes an aperture in communication with an aperture in the stake such that a lead cable or the like may be moved out of the way when the stake is pounded into the ground and may be fully received within the stake when tethering is not desired. Another embodiment employs a coupler passing through an aperture directly beneath the pounding surface to facilitate ease of attachment and removal of the tethering line.

Abstract: The newborn bovine ear protector is protective apparel made of weather resistant, moisture resistant, man-made material, having openings for eyes and mouth, which fits securely onto and around the snout of the animal from nose toward neck over top of head, and ears. Its purpose is to protect the newborn bovine from frost-bite or freezing of its ears, a problem that can result in loss of market value. It is held in place: (A) by way of re-sealable closure strips, which fasten across the back of the neck of the animal enclosing a section of the material and (B) by the conformity of the apparel to the head and snout of the animal. It can be humanly removed by physically disengaging the closure and guiding the apparel back across the snout toward the nose of the animal.

Abstract: What is new in the art (or rather, technique) in the structuring of the linkage mechanism as it is most commonly used in the design of reciprocating piston heat/pressure engines and pumping/compressing machines are the two alterations and the combination thereof that I have invented. They are, #1, establishing a (very large) fixed and permanent offsetting, or asymmetry, between the geometric center axi of the cylinder and crankshaft for the purpose of altering the fundamentals of the working cycle, #2, the addition of a sub-link to the connecting rod such that it then also functions as an extension (alternately increasing and decreasing the working, or effective length) of the crankshaft arm during the rotation of the crankshaft, and #3, the combining of these two improvements as one unit, or in one machine.

Abstract: A method for distributing lock pin ejections evenly over all the switchable mechanisms in a plurality of switchable mechanisms: establishing a limiting number of lock pin ejections; designating a primary switchable mechanism for the mode change upon command from an engine control module (ECM); employing the designated primary switchable mechanism until the limit is reached; designating another switchable mechanism a primary; employing the second primary mechanism until the limit is reached again; and designating sequentially each of the remaining switchable mechanisms as primary switchable mechanisms, each until the limit is reached again. The ECM counts the activation commands and switches the primary designation when the limit is reached so that each mechanism has the same exposure to ejections, and the number of ejections per mechanism is evenly distributed.
