  • Patent number: 7293974
Abstract: Apparatus for cutting a puff extrudate utilizing a blade that passes through the extrudate while the extrudate is in a viscous melt stage. The present invention utilizes a tube to facilitate production of a curly puff extrudate. A gap is provided in between the tube and the extruder die to allow a blade to access the extrudate as it exits an orifice in the die. The blade accesses the extrudate at the viscous melt stage, before the extrudate has cooled and hardened. The blade nicks the extrudate, as opposed to completely cutting it, which allows the extrudate to remain connected throughout processing such as curling in the containment tube. The gap also allows steam to be vented form the extrudate as it exits the orifice in the die. The nicked extrudate separates when fried or baked.

  • Patent number: 7293982
Abstract: Foamed molded articles can be produced during an injection molding process, among other things, by utilizing physical blowing agents. Existing technologies differ to the greatest possible extent in the manner how the blowing agent is introduced into the melt. One possibility is to supply the blowing agent via mixing elements (9) from porous or permeable material that are provided across the screw piston (1) and which by means of a suitable blowing agent input unit load and homogeneously charge the melt with blowing agent during the metering phase of the polymeric material. The resulting single phase polymer/blowing agent mixture, when injected in to an injection mold tool, produces due to a reduction in pressure, a foam-textured part.

Abstract: A socket bulb includes a shell inside which a depression device, a clamp device, and conductive plates are arranged. The shell has a lower opening through which the base of a bulb can be put into the shell in a linear movement. Depression operation of the depression device by the base of the bulb moves the clamp device to move between a raised position and a lowered position. When the clamp device is moved from the raised position to the lowered position, the bulb is securely retained inside the shell in electrical engagement with the conductive plates through which power is supplied to the bulb. When the clamp device is moved from the lowered position to the raised position, the bulb is released and can be withdrawn easily. As such, an efficient and safe structure for mounting and dismounting a bulb in a socket is provided.

Abstract: Terminal fittings (21A, 21B) are inserted into cavities (45) of a housing (40) and are locked by locks (28). A cover (70) is mounted on the rear of the housing (40), and is locked by cover locks (60). The cover (70) functions as a retainer by engaging rear surfaces of the terminal fittings (21A, 21B). The cover locks (60) deform towards deformation spaces (60A) if the cover (70) is only partly locked. A detector (100) is insertable through the cover (70) and has detecting pieces (103) that contact the cover locks (60) if the cover locks (60) are in the deformation spaces (60A). Thus, a partly locked state of the cover (70) can be detected. The detecting pieces (103) also enter deformation spaces (50A) for housing locks (50) for locking the housing (40) to a mating housing (11), and can detect a partly locked state of the housings (11, 40).
