  • Patent number: 7296974
Abstract: The invention relates to a wind turbine and to the installation of such a wind turbine, particularly offshore. When wind turbines are installed in the previously known manner, a tower of the wind turbine is firstly manufactured, said tower being a steel tower, a concrete tower or a lattice tower. After the tower has been erected, a machine house is mounted on the top of the tower and said machine house then consists of the entire nacelle, the generator, the rotor and other parts. Such a machine house with rotor blades attached thereto and a generator connected thereto is referred to in the following as a rotor unit. _The object of the present invention is to provide technical measures enabling the installation of offshore wind turbines in almost any weather, even when waves are small or moderate in height.

  • Patent number: 7296978
Abstract: A compressed air system and method of operating the system wherein the slip between the compressor motor and its powering alternator is used as an indication of whether the compressor is running in a loaded or unloaded mode. A slip parameter such as % Slip is determined and compared to an allowable value in real time. If the compressor is determined to be erroneously in a loaded mode, a corrective action may be taken to reduce the probability that the motor is later started with the compressor still in the loaded mode.

  • Patent number: 7296983
Abstract: In a gas compression apparatus, a space (41a) between oil seals (18, 23) and bearings (15, 21) is adapted to communicate with a low pressure lead hole (42) open to the atmosphere through a blow-down lead hole (41). The low pressure lead hole is opened/closed by an on-off valve (43) arranged on the side of the blow-down lead hole nearer to the low pressure lead hole. As a result, when the gas compression apparatus stops operation, the internal pressures of the space (41a) and a lubricant space (9) drop while the internal pressure of a compression chamber (10a) drops. A valve body (44) thus moves down and opens the low pressure lead hole, so that the internal pressure of the lubricant space becomes substantially equal to the atmospheric pressure. Thus, the lubricant is prevented from leaking from the lubricant space into the compression chamber.

Abstract: A chip adapter seat for positioning and connecting to a chip includes an insulating seat body, a plurality of terminals and a pressing element. The insulating seat body has an accommodating space for arranging the chip. On the corresponding sides of the accommodating space, a plurality of terminal-receiving grooves is provided to correspond to the chip pins. Each terminal-receiving groove is provided with a terminal therein. On end of the each terminal is electrically connected to the chip pin, and the other end thereof projects from the outside of the periphery of the insulating seat body. The pressing element is connected above the accommodating space of the insulating seat body for pressing the chip in the accommodating space of the insulating seat body. With the above arrangement, another chip can be rapidly changed without complicated detaching process when the chip is damaged.

Abstract: An electrical connector plug assembly has an outer shell containing at least one electrical contact module acting as an electrical contact plug. The outer shell works in cooperation with a separate connector receptacle assembly which has an inner shell containing at least one electrical contact module acting as an electrical contact receptacle. The outer shell of the electrical connector plug assembly is outfitted with an improved retaining device which secures the outer and inert shells of the connectors together over the joined electrical contact modules within those shells. The preferred connector retaining device is a clip which is attached so that the main body of the clip is in contact with an exterior surface of the plug with extending tabs which hold the clip in position upon slots on the interior surface of the plug and exterior surface of the receptacle shell.

Abstract: A push-pull plug has an outer housing that may be moved forwardly and backwardly along a plug housing. When the outer housing is in its forward position, a latch arm is in an upward or mated position and the plug will stay mated to a jack when the plug is inserted into the jack. When the outer housing is moved backwardly, cam surfaces on the outer housing push cam followers on the latch arm downwardly, moving the latch arm and latch to a downward or unmated position. The plug may then be removed from a jack as the outer housing is pulled. The plugs may be adapted for use with an insertion and removal tool. Corner finger grips may be formed on the outer housing and may be located in an alternating manner to facilitate use when plugs are closely positioned.

Abstract: An engagement system having a spring lock design to initially attach the two halves of the system together. After which the use of a multi start Acme lead screw provides a, consistent, low torque means of engagement. Although the engager requires the use of lubrication, to be applied initially, the lube is contained in a sealed environment. This eliminates the risk of contamination to electrical components and eliminates the need to apply additional lube during the products life. Because the present invention allows the ACME threads to be “meshed” at all times, it also eliminates the possibly of cross-threading.

  • Patent number: 7297015
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a guide plate selectively securable in a position adjacent a first electronic connector, wherein the guide plate includes a linear slot. A mounting plate is positioned generally parallel to the guide plate, wherein the mounting plate comprises two or more mounting pins, and is vertically slidably secured to the guide plate by the pins extending through the linear slot. Between the guide plate and the mounting plate, a rotatable plate is pivotally coupled, wherein the rotatable plate includes one or more cam slots slidably receiving a mounting pin. An electronic circuit board is coupled to the mounting plate, the electronic circuit board having a second electronic connector selectively mateable with the first electronic connector. The rotatable plate is actuated so that the cam slots cause the mounting plate and circuit board to move vertically to insert and remove the second connector relative to the first connector.

  • Patent number: 7297018
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for monitoring and reporting cable connectivity such as patch panel port-level connectivity on a real-time basis. For patch panel systems, the approach is based upon a distributed architecture that may be modularly scalable and may reduce, if not eliminate, the need for a centralized signal processor and complex cabling between patch panels and the centralized signal processor. Each patch panel may determine port level connectivity independently. Polling delays and polling-related overhead processing may be reduced or eliminated by supporting real-time monitoring of port connectivity at the port level. The approach provides improved real-time reporting of patch panel connectivity with reduced cabling complexity, increased reliability, and decreased maintenance costs. In addition, the approach is compatible with (i.e., may communicate with and be controlled by) a multipurpose network management system (NMS). In addition, a compatible revision system is provided.
