Publication number: 20070271682Abstract: Scent-suppressing fiber to be woven into articles of clothing or other equipment formed of fabric to inhibit or eliminate the emission of scents when the wearer is in the vicinity of wildlife. The fiber is a conventional thread coated with carbon. A fabric sheet is formed completely of woven carbon scent-suppressing fibers, or alternatively may be formed of carbon scent-suppressing fibers interwoven with conventional fibers. The resulting fabric sheet is formed into articles of clothing to suppress scent emission that highly sensitive wild creatures can detect. Because the fiber is structurally a part of the clothing article, its cost is less than if the scent-suppressing fiber were applied superficially, as in a sandwich type layering system. Also, because the fiber is continuously present in the material, the scent-suppressing capability covers the entire garment and is not limited only to large surface areas.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 23, 2005Publication date: November 29, 2007Inventor: Robert Eastman

Publication number: 20070271713Abstract: Provided are, among other things, systems, methods and techniques for making a shoe outsole and to shoe outsoles made using such techniques. In one such technique, a sheet of composite material is produced by extruding a base material together with a sheet of fabric material. The sheet of composite material is then cut into an outsole component, and a shoe outsole is fabricated using the outsole component.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 21, 2007Publication date: November 29, 2007Inventors: John Koo, Jonathan Goldberg

Publication number: 20070271714Abstract: Embodiments of light-based enhancing apparatuses and methods of use are described. In one embodiment, the light based-enhancing apparatus may comprise a toothbrush that includes a light source, a head with a plurality of bristles (and/or other materials that may be used to brush a tooth such as, e.g., a sponge, plastic prongs or resilient massaging rods/tips) and a window so that light emitted from the light source can pass through the window. In another embodiment, the light-based enhancing apparatus may comprise a razor or an electric razor that has a head with at least one blade and a light source that is adapted for emitting light proximal to the head of the razor.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2007Publication date: November 29, 2007Inventors: Horst Adam, Victor Esch, Marc Maisel, Joseph Rimsa

Publication number: 20070271715Abstract: A cleaning apparatus for shoe soles has a resilient base mat and a top mat of a moisture absorbent fabric. A reservoir contains a cleaning solution and a foot actuated spray mechanism and a foot actuated lever delivers a fine spray of the solution to one portion of the top mat. Shoe soles are wiped on the wetted surface of the top mat and then the shoes are dried by wiping the soles on a dry portion of the mat.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 24, 2006Publication date: November 29, 2007Inventor: Don Scoralle

Publication number: 20070271716Abstract: An article formed from compressed paper, sponge or fabric that is expandable upon contact with water includes a preselected amount of a surface active agent. The article of the invention may also include microencapsulated materials. The article of the invention may be packaged in a package that substantially maintains it in the compressed state until the package is removed. Microencapsulation permits a wide range of products to be incorporated into these compressed products while maintaining the dry, compressed nature of the products. In one aspect, methods are provided that comprise forming the article, that comprises paper, sponge or fabric, in a size of intended use; attaching a plurality of microencapsulated beads containing a material therein to the paper, sponge or fabric; and compressing the article to a compressed size that is smaller than the size of intended use.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 14, 2006Publication date: November 29, 2007Inventor: Donald Spector

Publication number: 20070271717Abstract: A toothbrush head comprising a flexible bristle carrier such as an elastomer or gel pad or flexibly linked segments, on which bristles are mounted, with a support which supports the carrier at its base near the handle and at the opposite tip part, leaving the carrier unsupported thereby in a region longitudinally between these parts, the carrier being flexible such that it can deform under the forces of toothbrushing so that both its longitudinal and widthways sections become distorted. Preferably the support is also flexible.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 7, 2005Publication date: November 29, 2007Applicant: GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare GmbH & Co KGInventors: Thomas Clos, Hans Kraemer
