Abstract: A gastro-laryngeal mask features softly compliant construction of the distal half of the mask, wherein the mask is of generally elliptical configuration, with an inflatable peripheral cuff to seal and support the mask around the laryngeal inlet. A back cushion is inflatable to engage the back wall of the pharynx and thus to forwardly load the peripheral-cuff seal to the laryngeal inlet. An evacuation tube for external removal of a possible gastric discharge completes an evacuation or discharge passage contained within the mask and opening through the distal end of the peripheral cuff. Special provision is made for assuring integrity of the discharge passage within the flexible distal half of the mask, i.e., assuring against collapse of the distal-end half of the softly compliant evacuation tube in the distal region of the mask, such that inflation of the mask does not compromise viability of the evacuation tube by compressing softly compliant material of the evacuation tube during periods of mask inflation.

Abstract: The screen cylinder includes a screening plate having contoured grooves along an inflow side and a backing cylinder having a plurality of openings therethrough and disposed on the outflow side of the screening cylinder. The contoured grooves are elongated in the axial direction and are closely circumferentially spaced one from the other about the screen cylinder. In one embodiment, circumferentially extending grooves are formed along the outflow side of the screening cylinder whereby pulp flows through the contoured grooves into the recesses and then through the openings of the backing cylinder. In another embodiment, the recesses are formed on the inflow side of the backing cylinder, the screening cylinder being provided with elongated slots along its outflow side in registry with the contoured slots. In this manner, increased flow capacity is provided. Additionally, the screening cylinder is removable when worn for replacement by a fresh screening cylinder which may then be secured to the backing cylinder.

The system can include an interaction controller, which sets a duration of time for the users to communicate in a dialogue environment. Working on the subject in a group and working alone can be intertwined. For example, the users first work on the materials generated individually, and then solve the problem together in a dialogue environment. During the dialogue session, the interaction controller can provide hints to the users. The system can also include a user registry, which restricts the users who can use the embodiment to work on the subject.

The diameter of the inner restrictor tube is small so that meat emulsion passing into the inner restrictor tube is subjected to a higher pressure than that of the pressure in the second first passageway. The lower pressure meat material in the second first passageway is thinly coated on the strand of the high pressure meat material extruded from the inner restrictor tube. A thin layer of collagen material is extruded from the third second passageway for deposit on the outer surface of the meat layer extruded from the second first passageway.

Abstract: A front surface opened welding mask, in which an LCD shielding screen is simply attached to and detached from a welding plane and the LCD shielding screen is safely connected to the welding plane. The front surface opened welding mask includes a connection opening formed through the front surface of the welding plane, a front cover having a transparent window formed through the central portion thereof and attached to and detached from the connection opening, and buttons for connecting the front cover to the connection opening. The controller has an internally disposed pressurizing motor, frequency transformer, microcontroller board, and remote control unit, with the remote control unit equipped with a plurality of push-type keys. Furthermore, the end of the hose provides for the installation of water discharge nozzles. As such, user operation varies the intensity of the water output force as well as changes in water volume duration, utilizing the shower head accessories and differently shaped nozzles to produce streams of differing force directed against the body for water massage applications, thereby revitalizing cells, eliminating fatigue, and promoting metabolism to comfortably relax the body and spirit.

The fluid cushion has a fluid support surface, a retractable/deployable bolster, and a closure mechanism. The fluid support surface has a top surface designed to receive a patient thereon. The closure mechanism corresponds to the retractable/deployable bolster and allows the retractable/deployable bolster to be deployed or retracted. When the retractable/deployable bolster is deployed the retractable/deployable bolster protrudes from the top surface and is positioned about a portion of the patient's perimeter. When the retractable/deployable bolster is retracted the closure mechanism is positioned over the retractable/deployable bolster to prevent the retractable/deployable bolster from protruding from the top surface. And the fluid pump provides a fluid to the fluid cushion.

A toilet cleaning brush is attached to one end of the handle so that, with the rod in its retracted position, the brush is nested within the cup cavity and with the rod in its extended position, the brush protrudes outwardly through the open end of the cup cavity.

In different variations, the squeegee elements comprise either a downwardly extending forward lip or a forwardly extending lip.

During assembly, a plurality of rolling balls are extended through the assembling holes and loaded into the first raceways and the second raceways. Then a plurality of biasing balls is loaded into the assembling holes. The staff is inserted into the support cavity and blocks the assembling holes. The rolling balls contact the biasing balls instead of fixed components whereby the rolling balls swivel and rotate smoothly.

Abstract: A magnetically actuated locking mechanism includes a male section and a female section releasably coupled to the male section. The male section includes a male body, a projection extending from one end of the male body and including a transverse bore, and a locking element movable between an unlocked position wherein the locking element is received within the bore and a locked position wherein the locking element is partly extracted from the bore. A first magnet is embedded in the locking element. The female section includes a female body having a guide cavity dimensioned to receive the projection, and a transverse locking recess dimensioned to lockingly receive a part of the locking element as extracted. A second magnet is embedded in the female body adjacent to the locking recess.

Abstract: A releasable fastener system comprises a loop portion and a hook portion. The loop portion includes a support and a loop material disposed on one side thereof. The hook portion generally includes a support and a plurality of closely spaced upstanding hook elements extending from one side thereof, wherein the plurality of hook elements comprises or incorporates a shape memory polymer. When the hook portion and loop portion are pressed together they interlock to form a releasable engagement. The resulting joint created by the engagement is relatively resistant to shear and pull forces and weak in peel strength forces. Introducing a thermal activation signal to the plurality of hook elements causes a change in shape orientation and/or flexural modulus that effectively reduces the shear and/or pull off forces in the releasable engagement. In this manner, disengagement of the releasable fastener system provides separation of the hook portion from the loop portion under controlled conditions.
