Abstract: Two embodiments of a connector that can be mated without regard for its orientation are disclosed. One embodiment is mated and demated autonomously as part of a system for recovering, docking with, recharging and re-launching unmanned aerial vehicles. Another embodiment is employed on the decks of vessels to facilitate mating and demating of various equipment providing different functions to reconfigure the vessel. Because both embodiments are configured for connection irrespective of angular orientation over 360°, they are especially suited for harsh environments including autonomous operation, rough seas, darkness and the like.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a board to board connector, which comprises an insulative housing, a plurality of electrical terminals and a pair of fastening members. The insulative housing has a plurality of terminal chambers which pass from the bottom face through the top face of the base portion thereof for accommodating the electrical terminals. Each terminal includes a contact portion, a fixing portion and a two-way multi-layer U-shaped spring portion connected therebetween. The spring portion has perfect elasticity, and the contact portion is formed with a stopping portion at the end connecting the spring portion, and on the other end forming an abutting portion, which could match with the insulative housing effectively. The fastening members are disposed in the wide slots on two side convex portions of the insulative housing to connect with the PCB to achieve signal transmission.

Abstract: A connector module, which permits termination of cross-connect wires on one surface and cable wires on an opposite surface, has an internal switch configuration which is normally open, such that the cross-connect wires are normally not connected to the cable wires. The module exhibits a generally “Z” shaped configuration which permits test access, jumper insertion, and protector mounting on either surface.

Abstract: A shift operation apparatus for an outboard motor of the present invention comprises a case fixed to an outboard motor, a motor provide at the case, a worm gear which is rotated by the motor, a worm wheel engages with the worm gear, an output shaft provided so as to freely rotate, a gear mechanism which transmits rotation of the worm wheel to the output shaft, an output arm which is attached to the output shaft, and which moves a range from a shift forward position to a shift reverse position with a neutral position being a boundary, a sensor which outputs a signal relating to a shift position of the output arm to a control circuit, and a force transmitting member whose one end is connected to the output arm, and whose other end is connected to a portion to be operated of a shift mechanism.

Abstract: Rapid shaft stop devices and transmissions are described that utilize permanent magnets for coupling and/or braking and are useful for electronic propeller guards and other equipment. In an embodiment, one or more capacitive discharge pulses are used to rapidly stop a shaft. A magnetic transmission is provided having axially oriented magnets on each side of an air space junction that transmit torque across the junction with a torque/speed profile that particularly suits boat propellers. The junction may include a bearing and allows slippage when the propeller resistance exceeds a given value. This slippage acts as a variable gear reduction. One or more electromagnets may be energized and thereby add to or subtract from one or more magnetic fields and provide electronic control of torque and of gear reduction ratio for devices such as watercraft drive systems.

Abstract: A marine-(navy) or commercial or yacht ship-type equipment system is for electrically driven ships having different sizes and driving power. The ships, as well as coast guard boats and customs boats, include standardized equipment segments for the propulsion and operation thereof. The individual equipment system for ship types consists of hulls, which are embodied according to the type of ship, i.e. are made according to size and specific task requirements and the equipment segments for propulsion, such as electrical oar propellers and waterjets, and for the operation of the ship such as the energy generator, the energy distributor and automation elements, are embodied according to type and according to driving power and function of the individual ships. The equipment segments are embodied in a prefabricated manner and can be installed on different areas in the hull of the ship.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method to an apparatus and method for securing an outboard boat motor during transportation. More particularly the invention is directed towards a removable support mount capable of attaching to the hydraulic trim cylinders mounted on the transom of a boat. Once attached, the opposite end of the support mount rests beneath the motor keeping it away from the transom in a tilted upward position in order to avoid contact with the road or objects on the road during transportation.

Abstract: A shrouded outdrive propels a high-speed boat having a hull for high-speed passage through water. The hull has at least one bow at the forward end and at least one transom at the stern. A tubular shaft extends at a small angle (6° to 12°) from the boat transom into the water, and a drive shaft is arranged within the tubular shaft. A propeller is mounted to the drive shaft for partial immersion in the water so that a lower portion of the propeller extends into the water during high-speed floating passage of the boat and a upper portion of the propeller is above the water during high-speed floating passage of the boat. A shroud is arranged about the propeller and is disposed below the water and adjacent the propeller. A mount holds the shroud to form a shroud-enclosed channel during high-speed passage of the boat through the water in which the propeller rotates.

Abstract: An outboard motor includes an engine. A cowling body defines an internal cavity in which the engine is enclosed. A partition member divides the internal cavity into a first cavity and a second cavity. The first cavity communicates with outside through a first opening for introducing ambient air into the first cavity. The second cavity encloses the engine therein. The partition member has a second opening through which the air in the first cavity moves to the second cavity. The cowling body and the partition member are made of a nonferrous metal. The partition member is adhered to the cowling body.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a training fin for assisting a wide variety of swimmers to gain a superior cardiovascular workout with minimal risk of injury. The fin has a proximal end and a distal end. Additionally, the fin has a dorsal section and a plantar section and defines an opening for insertion of a user's foot adjacent the proximal end. The dorsal section has proximal and distal ends aligned with the proximal and distal ends of the fin. The dorsal section is solid from the proximal to distal ends. The dorsal section has side sections. The plantar section has proximal and distal ends aligned with the proximal and distal ends of the fin and dorsal section. The dorsal and plantar sections are joined, at least, at the proximal and side sections. The dorsal surface includes a fluid separator for increasing hydrodynamic design and function. In an exemplary embodiment, the fin defines a boot, made from pliable material. The pliable material being of varying thicknesses. The boot has a foot pocket and a blade portion.

Abstract: A system detects a man overboard and facilitates the rescue of the overboard individual. The system includes sensors that provide surveillance of a peripheral envelope of a boat to detect when an individual fall through the envelope. When an individual is detected falling through the peripheral envelope, an alarm is sounded and a floatation device is dispensed into the water.

Abstract: The flotation device includes an inflatable bladder, inflation means, activation means for the inflation means and is self-contained. Preferably, a plurality of flotation bladders which are inflatable by the user, a third party or automatically are used. A closure system prevents accidental inflation of the inflation means. The devices provides buoyancy to personnel and associated equipment.

The guides maintain the posture of the wings and gradually applies pressure against the breast meat to position the tendons for cutting. Left and right rotary blades disposed adjacent to the guides cut the tendon near the guides, thereby separating the wings from the breast meat.

Abstract: A louver type roof structure includes a plurality of elongated parallel slats mounted on slat hinges pivotally supported on carrier beams transverse to the slats. The slats are pivotable between a closed position in which their longitudinal adjacent edges overlap each other, and an open position in which the slats are spaced apart. The slat hinges are mounted to the slats at their lower surface and allow pivoting of the slats between the closed position and an extreme open position by an angle of at least 90°, preferably 110°. By matching up symmetrical patterns of the resulting tokens, after each opposing token position is selected, the number of unique DVD menus needed for a base version of the game (which never allows the person playing the game to win) can be reduced to just 30 DVD Menus. This matching is arrived at by animating in 3-D space the transitions of the Tic-Tac-Toe game board via flipping and/or rotating between game board states. It then allows alternate paths of game play to be added to the fixed logic that can allow a person to win. It also allows custom content to be arrived at during game play.

Abstract: The embodiments of present invention provide a method for playing wagering games with dominoes. According to a first embodiment of the present invention, a player first places a wager and a dealer then deals three dominoes each to the player and the dealer. Abstract: A composite drive shaft in which the end adapters are captured in the composite material portion during the process of manufacturing of the composite drive shaft assembly is disclosed. The end adapters include lugs that protrude outward longitudinally to transmit torque, tensile, and compressive forces, and bending moments to the composite material portion and vice versa. To increase the load carrying capacity for axial force and bending moment, the end adapters may have at least one recessed circumferential groove. Before the manufacturing process, one or more bonding agents may be applied onto the interface of the end adapter to enhance the performance of engagement between the end adapters and the composite material portion. The composite material portion and end adapters are co-cured to produce a final drive shaft that requires no additional work for assembly.

A right shot guide extends from the right end portion of the main arm and beyond the tip of the billiards cue. The left shot guide and the right shot guide are configured and arranged to accept a cue ball therebetween. When the billiards player properly aligns the billiards cue with the cue ball, neither the left shot guide nor the right shot guide contact the cue ball.

Abstract: A pool cue that includes a first hollow rod with a light source connected to a second hollow rod via a light conducting coupler is disclosed herein. Thus, the light source can project light the length of the cue. The coupler can be hollow or a made from a translucent material. The light source can be a light emitting diode (LED) powered by disk shaped watch batteries. Different inserts can be placed in the hollow rods to change the color and the illumination pattern of the cue. Inserts can also be added to change the weight of the pool cue. The pool cue can also have a tubular mirror insertable into the first hollow rod where the grip is to minimize the absorption of light in these areas.

Abstract: An object locating system detects the presence of an object as it passes through two consecutive planar fields of view. Two pairs of optical sensor arrays with multiple, directed, pixel detectors observe the object from two angles as the object passes through each consecutive field of view. The locations of penetrations of the respective fields of view are calculated by triangulation. Using this data, the known location of the take-off point and/or the delay between penetrations, the trajectory of the object in time and space is calculated.
