  • Patent number: RE40270
Abstract: An optical brancher branches an input optical signal into two. An optical detector converts one optical signal branched by the optical brancher into an electrical signal. A first controller generates a control electrical signal having a waveform obtained by inverting the envelope of the electrical signal. Based on the control electrical signal, an optical signal generator produces a dummy optical signal having a waveform ?d and an amplitude ?/2. The other signal branched by the optical brancher is delayed by a delay unit for a predetermined time, and then multiplexed by an optical multiplexer with the dummy optical signal from the optical signal generator. An optical amplifier amplifies amultiplexed optical signal. An optical filter separates an optical signal of a wavelength ?1 from the amplified optical signal. Thus, optical signal amplification can be carried out without optical surges.

  • Patent number: RE40275
Abstract: A method for producing a memory cell includes masking a desired polysilicon structure with an oxidation-inhibiting layer, preferably a nitride layer. The polysilicon above source/drain regions and field regions is then converted into silicon dioxide. At the same time, filling with silicon dioxide is effected between adjacent polysilicon paths. The field oxide thickness is increased by the conversion of polysilicon in the field regions as well. A second polysilicon layer is applied over a field region, with inclusion of the oxidation-inhibiting layer present there. One electrode of a capacitor is produced therefrom through the use of marking and etching, with the first polysilicon situated under the oxidation-inhibiting layer forming another electrode and the oxidation-inhibiting layer forming a dielectric. The structure provides a less complex masking and etching technique as well as improved reliability of the components.

First, in response to the ETD pulse, the integrated circuit device exits a test mode at least temporarily every cycle of the integrated circuit device. Second, a node of the integrated circuit device is re-initialized every cycle if it is not forced by a super voltage indicative of test mode entry. Both of these responses prevent accidental entry of the integrated circuit device into the test mode. If the integrated circuit device is supposed to be in the test mode, it stays in the test mode. If, however, the integrated circuit device is not intended to be in the test mode, the ETD pulse forces the integrated circuit device out of the test mode. Subsequent entry into the test mode of the device is permitted if conditions for entry into the test mode have otherwise been met.

  • Patent number: 7363661
Abstract: A portable urinal comprises an upper pan and a lower pan, the pans being joined together to create a liquid receiving cavity. The upper pan has an upper surface which may be ovate shaped like a conventional toilet seat. A funnel in the approximate center of the upper pan empties through a small tube into the cavity. The side of the funnel to the front of the urinal is sloped more gently than the remaining sides of the funnel. The urinal has a relatively low profile, allowing it to be slipped easily between a user and a seat, such as in a car or in an airplane. After a user voids into the urinal, the small size of the tube helps prevent urine from escaping from the cavity. When the urinal is upside-down or on its side, for example, urine pools away from the funnel opening. A capable drain spout is provided for emptying the cavity of fluid when it is so desired.

  • Patent number: 7363662
Abstract: Many times when a home sewage line becomes clogged it results in overflow of the matter in the toilet bowl onto the floor. It is a difficult matter at the time to easily and immediately stop overflowing from occurring. STOPRZ solves this problem. If the affluent in the bowl keeps rising to an uncomfortable level one only has to raise the finial atop the toilet tank lid. Since the finial is connected to the lift-bar of the shut-off valve controlling the water flow into the toilet bowl by the brass rod, raising the finial shuts the inflow of water. Spinning the wing nut down to the top of the toilet tank lid shuts off the water supply for as long as is necessary. Correcting the complete problem can then be done at one's leisure. STORZ consists of three items—a lift-rod shaft (a ? by 6 inch rod threaded at one end and the other end curved into a semi-circle as the curved end of a fish-hook), a wing nut and a finial.

  • Patent number: 7363664
Abstract: A bed frame comprising T shaped side rails provide support for a box spring and mattress. A leg assembly is affixed to the bed frame and is affixed to the side rail and to the cross rails for better strength of connection. The use of T-shaped side rails provides more resistance to twisting and bowing and thereby more resistant to damage a leg or other structural component of the bed frame from moving the bed frame across the floor. The use of the T-shape cross section side rails enables the overall bed frame to support more weight with less deflection than the convention L-shaped side rails. There are also headboard and footboard brackets that take advantage of the greater height of the vertical flange of the side rail to have affixation means, such as rivets, that are further spaced apart to provide a more rigid connection between the brackets and the side rails.
