Patent number: 7363882Abstract: A condensation removal apparatus is disclosed. The condensation removal apparatus is used with a hot water heater wherein the hot water heater produces a fuel exhaust. The fuel exhaust from the hot water heater is provided to a draft inducer through an inlet which includes a thermally conductive plate having a hole through which the fuel exhaust flows. The draft inducer mixes ambient air with the fuel exhaust and reduces the temperature of the mixture as compared to the fuel exhaust. The mixture is directed to an outlet of the draft inducer and through piping into another environment. As the mixture cools, condensation forms within the piping. The condensation drips back down through the draft inducer. The condensation is then directed onto the thermally conductive plate. Since the thermally conductive plate maintains a high temperature, the condensation is turned from a liquid form into a gaseous form and is directed back through the draft inducer to the outlet.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2005Date of Patent: April 29, 2008Assignee: Comair Rotron, Inc.Inventors: Fred A. Patent number: 7363906Abstract: A control system for an internal combustion engine, which can determine just enough amounts of demanded combustion fuel and auxiliary fuel during execution of auxiliary fuel supply, for improvement of fuel economy and drivability and the emission-reducing capability of a catalyst. The control system carries out auxiliary fuel supply for a cylinder during a predetermined time period within the expansion and exhaust strokes, to control the catalyst to a predetermined state for its emission-reducing capability. The control system calculates a whole demanded fuel amount to make oxygen concentration in exhaust gases equal to a predetermined value for controlling the catalyst to the state during auxiliary fuel supply, determines the amount of demanded combustion fuel to be supplied to obtain engine output, and determines the auxiliary fuel amount based on the difference between the whole demanded fuel amount and the demanded combustion fuel amount.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 2006Date of Patent: April 29, 2008Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventors: Ken Ogawa, Toshinari Shinohara, Tetsuaki Nakano

Patent number: 7363907Abstract: An automotive vehicle, such as a motorcycle, has an electric ignition system for igniting fuel delivered to the engine of the vehicle, and a rotatable handle which the driver holds in one hand when driving the vehicle and rotates to control the power output of the engine between an idling end position and a high power end position. The device includes a switch for cutting out the ignition system temporarily. This is achieved by turning the handle towards and beyond a yieldable engine-idling abutment, by exerting a strong torque that exceeds a pre-chosen value.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2004Date of Patent: April 29, 2008Inventor: Jan Norrman

Patent number: 7363910Abstract: An ignition circuit is for an internal combustion engine in a handheld portable work apparatus. A combustion chamber (4) is configured in the cylinder (3) of the engine (1) which is delimited by a piston (5) driving a crankshaft (7). A pole wheel (10) revolves with the crankshaft (7) and is assigned to an induction loop (13). The pole wheel periodically changes the magnetic flux in the induction loop. An ignition capacitor (16) is charged by a charge coil (14) of the induction loop and is discharged via a discharge circuit (15) via an ignition coil (17). The ignition coil is connected to a spark plug (19) projecting into the combustion chamber. For achieving a powerful ignition spark, the discharge of the ignition capacitor is prevented by an rpm evaluation circuit (23) when the rpm curve (30) exhibits an rpm change (?n) which exceeds a pregiven threshold value.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2006Date of Patent: April 29, 2008Assignee: Andreas Stihl AG & Co. Patent number: 7363912Abstract: A fuel injection controller calculates a difference between a rotation speed fluctuation amount of an engine in the case where an injection for learning is performed and the rotation speed fluctuation amount in the case where the injection for the learning is not performed as a rotation speed increase amount. The controller calculates an actual injection amount actually injected from an injector based on a rotation state of the engine. The controller calculates a difference between the actual injection amount and a command injection amount outputted to the injector as a characteristic deviation and corrects the command injection amount to reduce the characteristic deviation. The controller prohibits the correction of the command injection amount when a variation in the rotation speed increase amount is equal to or greater than a specified value.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 2007Date of Patent: April 29, 2008Assignee: Denso CorporationInventors: Masahiro Asano, Eiji Takemoto

Patent number: 7363913Abstract: A high-pressure pump has at least one pump element, with a pump piston which is guided displaceably in a cylinder bore of a housing part of the high-pressure pump and is driven in a reciprocating motion and defines a pump work chamber in the cylinder bore, into which chamber fuel is aspirated via an inlet valve in the intake stroke of the pump piston. The inlet valve has a pistonlike valve member, which with a sealing face cooperates with a valve seat for controlling the communication of the pump work chamber with the fuel inlet. The valve member is disposed with a head, on which the sealing face is embodied, in the pump work chamber and protrudes out of the pump work chamber with a shaft adjoining the head. The valve seat is formed in the housing part at a transition from the cylinder bore to a bore of smaller diameter adjoining the cylinder bore.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2005Date of Patent: April 29, 2008Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbHInventors: Andreas Dutt, Jochen Aleker

Patent number: 7363915Abstract: A method is disclosed for controlling operation of an engine coupled to an exhaust treatment catalyst. Under predetermined conditions, the method operates an engine with a first group of cylinders combusting a lean air/fuel mixture and a second group of cylinders pumping air only (i.e., without fuel injection). In addition, the engine control method also provides the following features in combination with the above-described split air/lean mode: idle speed control, sensor diagnostics, air/fuel ratio control, adaptive learning, fuel vapor purging, catalyst temperature estimation, default operation, and exhaust gas and emission control device temperature control. In addition, the engine control method also changes to combusting in all cylinders under preselected operating conditions such as fuel vapor purging, manifold vacuum control, and purging of stored oxidants in an emission control device.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2004Date of Patent: April 29, 2008Assignee: Ford Global Technologies, LLCInventors: Gopichandra Surnilla, Michael J. Patent number: 7363918Abstract: A common rail fuel injection system has a fuel pump, a common rail, and an injector. The injector injects high-pressure fuel supplied from the common rail into an engine and leaks part of the high-pressure fuel. An electronic control unit (ECU) restricts a heat amount of the leak fuel of the injector based on a remaining amount of the fuel in a fuel tank. At that time, a target value of the fuel pressure in the common rail is changed to a lower value and the restriction of the fuel pressure is performed with the changed target value. Thus, decrease in generation torque of the engine against intension of a driver can be inhibited while protecting components such as the fuel injection valve.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2006Date of Patent: April 29, 2008Assignee: Denso CorporationInventor: Yoshihiro Majima
