Abstract: Body armor for ballistic protection of a user's extremities preferably comprising right and left arm protection units and/or right and left leg protection units. The units include a ballistic protection material which preferably covers most of the user's upper arm, elbow region, lower arm, shoulder, upper leg, knee region, and lower leg except for ventilation zones preferably located on the inner portion of the upper arm and the inner part of the upper leg. The back of the knee is preferably covered by a protective flap.

Abstract: A cut-resistant glove is provided which is formed of a composite yarn comprising a core and a covering layer formed by wrapping a covering fiber around the core, the core being composed of a metal thin wire and an attending yarn comprising a filament yarn, the surface of which is coated with a rubber or a resin. The cut-resistant glove is excellent not only in moisture absorption property, putting-on-feeling, use feeling and workability in the state of being put on, but also in non-slip property, water proofness, strength and cut-resistant property.

Abstract: A flexible bill includes a plurality of flexible line segments disposed inside the bill to keep a fashioned curve according to the line segments influenced by an outer force. The bill 1 is combined to a crown 2 to form a cap by stitching a rear fringe of the bill to a front fringe of the crown 2. Said bill 1 includes a lining 13 made of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) clothed by twill 11. At least, three flexible line segments 12 are disposed between the EVA lining 13 and the twill 11. Flexible line segments are arrayed side to side in parallel to the bill equidistantly. They can be disposed above or below the bill 1. The flexible line segments 12 are made of high density polyethylene (HDPE).

Abstract: A flame resistant garment, in certain embodiments, may include multiple garment portions to provide different degrees of protection for welding or another application. In one embodiment, the flame-resistant garment may include a base garment and one or more supplemental protective layers or garments. For example, the base garment may include a jacket, a vest, a coverall, a jumpsuit, an overall, pants, trousers, a smock, a hat, a hood, or a combination thereof. The protective layer may include a bib or any other suitable attachment to add further flame resistance. Further, the multiple garment portions may be coupled together via a snap fastener system, a hook-and-loop system, a button system, a zipper system, a buckle system, or a clip system, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: A kit for use in treating a sink drain so that drain remains both open and clean includes an unclogging device and a strainer, which though packagable or stackable together would normally be used separately. The unclogging device can be used to concentrate the spray from a nozzle to assist in unclogging a drain. The strainer would normally reside in a sink drain to prevent debris from clogging or restricting the drain. One version of the strainer provides space for an air freshener that can be replaced. These kits also include a sealing stopper and a gasket.

Abstract: A fluid vortex inducing component adapted for placement between an anti-vortex drain cover of a pool or spa and the underlying drain. The device employs radially oriented blades to induce a cyclonic or vortex flow to the plurality of individual linear fluid streams traversing passages in the sidewall of the drain cover to enhance fluid flow in the underlying drain. It may be installed as a new part to existing or new drains or in a method for retrofitting existing drains a component to induce the vortex to drained water can be installed.

Abstract: The present invention provides a swimming pool safety system including a housing having a first opening for coupling to a pump, a second opening for coupling to a pool drain, and a third opening for receiving water form a surface of a pool. The present invention may include a skimmer basket positionable in the housing, where the skimmer basket defines a debris-retaining region and a member having a passage therethrough. A method of use of the present invention is also provided in which the housing may be configured to reduce an entrapment force experienced at a pool drain, and to further provide a fluid flow path through the debris-retaining region of the skimmer basket to place the first opening of the housing in fluid communication with the surrounding atmosphere. A collector vessel may also be included, the collector vessel having an adjustable extension element to modify a resulting entrapment force.

A fluid circulation system includes a powered pump and a plurality conduits connected to fluid outlets/jets in the spa cavity. The side wall includes at least one upwardly-opening channel above a waterline in the spa cavity. A light is positioned in the channel to provide indirect lighting for users of the spa system. The channel has an open portion configured to drain fluid splashed into the channel back into the spa cavity.

Abstract: A wall mounted pivoting and locking support rail assembly providing improved support to assist elderly and physically challenged persons with safely using a bathtub or shower area. The present invention mounts to the wall like a conventional grab bar, however, it adds an additional rail handle with the ability to pivot outward from the wall, and lock in one of several angular positions to extend support outward from the wall, and more to the centre of a shower or tub. This outward support is invaluable to assist with elderly and disabled persons to safely enter, use, and exit from the bathtub without dangerous reaching.

Abstract: An improved method of forming fiber-reinforced plastic shells for bathtubs utilizes a fiber mat placed on a rear surface of a plastic shell. The fiber mat is infused with a resin, and is then cured. The mat and resin are preferably received within a vacuum chamber as the resin is infused. Further, the plastic shell is preferably supported on a fluidized bed during this process. The present invention eliminates the need for detailed air handling as is now required to handle impurities in the industrial air around the process of forming the bathtub shell.

Abstract: A system is provided for enhancing the interconnectability of a bathtub to a plumbing system. More specifically, provided is a flexible conduit and an overflow assembly that allows for a portion of the overflow assembly to be easily located with the wall of a bathtub. The flexible conduit provided allows for adjustability of the conduit to the openings of the bathtub. In addition, provided are methods and apparatus that facilitate testing of a plumbing assembly. Finally, an apparatus and methods are provided that protect portions of the finished bathtub assembly to decrease in the need for replacing said hardware. It is envisioned that aspects and inventions disclosed herein can be used in conjunction to facilitate the interconnection and protection of hardware associated with a bathtub.

Abstract: The present invention provides a sleeping bag with additional material at the bottom of the head end, forming a “T”-shaped sleeping bag. The additional material forms the cross of the “T” and provides a greater surface area on which to sleep. This modification allows for more comfort in a wider variety of positions than has been available with standard prior art sleeping bags. The cross of the “T”-shape can accommodate a pillow, if desired, and gives added protection and coverage to the head and shoulders of the user. The position of a patient bed and the setting of an electric motor drive are recorded which may differ due to elasticity and/or flexibility of the bed drive. The drive can thus be activated for servo-support in case the patient bed is manually displaced, whereby the control signal is generated depending on a change in position of the patient bed, which does not correspond to a simultaneous change in the setting of the electric motor drive.

The incline ramp supports the upper torso and head of a patient such that the upper torso and head are elevated with respect to the base member. The centerline support is located adjacent the inline ramp for contact with a central portion of the patient's back located adjacent the spine to elevate the central back portion. According to one embodiment, the incline ramp and the spinal support are inflatable. As such, the fluid retention chamber is formed by the fluid resistant material and the intermediate fluid passing material. The fluid loss chamber is formed by the vapor permeable material and the intermediate fluid passing material.

Abstract: A method for aligning one end of a passenger boarding bridge with a doorway of an aircraft includes sensing a location of a base plate of the doorway of the aircraft, using a sensor that is disposed proximate the one end of the passenger boarding bridge. A current location of the one end of the passenger boarding bridge is then determined relative to the sensed location of the base plate. Based upon a known relationship between the location of the doorway and the sensed location of the base plate, the one end of the passenger boarding bridge is moved from the current location toward the doorway of the aircraft. The method relies upon features of the aircraft itself and does not require additional passive or active targets on the aircraft.

Abstract: A vision system for use with an automated control system of a passenger boarding bridge includes an inclinometer for determining tilt data relating to deviation of the aircraft-engaging end of the passenger boarding bridge relative a horizontal reference plane. The system also includes an imager disposed near the aircraft-engaging end of the passenger boarding bridge, for capturing image data relating to a portion of the aircraft proximate an expected stopping location of the doorway. A memory element having template image data stored retrievably therein is also provided. The template image data relates to at least a template image including a feature that is indicative of the location of the doorway of the aircraft. The vision system further includes an image data processor for determining alignment data for use in aligning the aircraft-engaging end of the passenger boarding bridge with the doorway of the aircraft.

Abstract: A method of aligning one end of a passenger boarding bridge with a doorway of an aircraft includes a step of parking the aircraft within a parking space that is defined adjacent to the passenger boarding bridge. An imager disposed aboard the aircraft is used for scanning a target that is located proximate the parking space, the target including machine-readable information that is uniquely associated with the passenger boarding bridge. Data relating to the machine-readable information of the target is extracted from image data and used for encoding a signal for transmission to a controller of the passenger boarding bridge. The controller determines the presence of the extracted data and compares the data to a unique bridge identifier code for that passenger boarding bridge. When a match is determined, then communication with an aircraft within or proximate a parking space adjacent to that passenger boarding bridge is confirmed.

A plurality of nozzles are disposed for co-movement with the main carriage to dispense fluids used in the washing of the vehicle. A sidearm drive system is disposed for co-movement with the main carriage. The sidearm drive system rotates a sidearm cloth in a reciprocating manner for contact with a side portion of the vehicle. To reduce the footprint needed to operate the wash system, the sidearm cloth may be rotated along an arc that is less than 360°. An overhead cloth drive system also may be disposed for co-movement with the main carriage. The overhead cloth drive system may move an overhead cloth in a reciprocating manner for contact with an upper portion of the vehicle.

The device features a sheath having a first surface and a second surface. The sheath is capable of assuming two positions. At least one pad element is affixed to the first surface for cleaning, dusting or applying disinfectants as said sheath assumes the second position. Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a retaining assembly for a flat mop refill and primarily comprises: a base, having an operative bottom surface and a top; and a plurality of retaining portions provided at least at four corners of the top, wherein each said retaining portion inlaid in the base has hollow interior and an elastic flap positioned thereover on which a plurality of tooth portions are provided in the manner to collectively construct a saw-toothed opening, wherein the tooth portions are arranged in a staggered manner and each has at least one grasping portion extended inward the retaining portion so that the mop refill can be grasped by the grasping portions and firmly attached to the base.
