Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to a nonwoven filtration media comprising a bonded mix of different, discontinuous, thermoplastic resin fibers and optionally discontinuous cellulosic fibers. In some embodiments a tackifier is added to the nonwoven filtration media to provide a sticky or adhesive surface on the fibers. The nonwoven media has an advantageous combination of stiffness, foldability, efficiency and the ability to retain a fold. The nonwoven media can be thermally bonded during the production process. The advantageous combination of mechanical properties allow the disclosed nonwoven media to accept and retain folds and pleats better than some conventional filtration materials while the mix of different fibers provides desirable filtration properties.

Abstract: A system for removing particulates from the exhaust gas of a vehicle internal combustion engine, particularly during those times that the emission of such particulates into the atmosphere would be of greatest danger to persons in the vicinity of the vehicle, includes a valve connected to the vehicle exhaust manifold for normally directing exhaust to the atmosphere when in the non-activated condition. The valve directs exhaust to a particulate filter when in the activated condition. Starting of the engine activates the valve for a predetermined period of time. The valve can be disabled manually or automatically by a switch, which detects the backpressure in the exhaust system. An exhaust pressure sensor monitors the exhaust backpressure, and a circuit device responsive to the exhaust pressure maintains the valve continuously in the non-activated condition, when the exhaust backpressure reaches a predetermined level for a predetermined period of time.

A catalyst and a NOx catalyst are disposed at respective upstream and downstream locations in an exhaust system, for purifying NOx and for trapping NOx under an oxidizing atmosphere and reducing the NOx under a reducing atmosphere, respectively. An air-fuel sensor is disposed between the catalyst and the NOx catalyst. A reducing agent is supplied to an upstream side of the catalyst, to control exhaust gases such that the gases form the reducing atmosphere. To determine time of termination of NOx reduction control, an amount of reducing agent supplied to the NOx catalyst is calculated, and calculation of the amount of reducing agent is started when the air-fuel ratio has converged within a vicinity of a target air-fuel ratio.

Abstract: An exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine which is capable of supplying a just enough amount of reducing agent to a NOx catalyst while causing the consumption amount of reducing agent dependent on the degradation degree of an upstream catalyst to be reflected thereon. A NOx catalyst is disposed at a location downstream of a catalyst having an oxidation function for purifying exhaust gases, for trapping NOx contained in exhaust gases in an oxidizing atmosphere, and reducing the trapped NOx in a reducing atmosphere to thereby purify the trapped NOx. Abstract: A beverage dispensing system is characterized by an ice/beverage dispenser and a remote beverage tower. The dispenser has a cold plate, a carbonator pump and a carbonator tank and the tower has a carbonator tank. To chill the tower carbonator tank, a closed loop fluid circuit extends between and heat exchange couples the dispenser cold plate and the tower carbonator tank. The dispenser carbonator pump can be used to circulate water through the closed loop circuit or a carbonator pump for the tower can be used for the purpose. A valve arrangement is provided for and as part of the dispenser cold plate to conveniently enable the dispenser to be switched between stand-alone operation and operation as a base unit for the remote tower. Arrangement is also made to cause ice agitation at the dispenser in response to drinks dispense at the remote tower to maintain a supply on the cold plate.

Abstract: A discharge unit (30) and a heat exchanger (20) are disposed in an air passageway (15). In the discharge unit (30), a rod-like discharge electrode (31) and a plate-like counter electrode (32) are disposed perpendicular to the flow of air, and lie along the heat exchanger (20). Upon application of voltage to both the electrodes (31, 32), streamer discharge is performed between the electrodes (31, 32), whereby an active species capable of decomposition of a component to be processed is produced.

Abstract: The bottle rack for the sample collector is made by injection molding two halves of the rack each of which has a matching surface and a bottle positioning surface. The matching surfaces are fastened together by placing the matching surfaces together back to back whereby locating members are spaced apart a sufficient distance. To warm a compressor to a starting temperature during cold weather, the ambient temperature is measured and when the ambient temperature is lower than a preset temperature and the compressor is not running, current is applied to the motor windings to warm the compressor.

Abstract: A compressor has a discharge passage, an oil separation mechanism, an oil supply passage, and a valve mechanism. The oil supply passage supplies the separated lubrication oil into an oil recovery region. The valve mechanism is formed in the oil supply passage and includes a valve chamber, a spool and an urging member. The spool separates the valve chamber into a first pressure sensing chamber and a second pressure sensing chamber. The amount of the lubrication oil supplied to the oil recovery region is adjusted in such a manner that as the pressure differential between the first and the second pressure sensing chambers increases, the spool slides in the valve chamber and the opening degree of the oil supply passage increases to the maximum and then decreases, and that when the compressor is stopped, the opening degree of the oil supply passage is minimized by the urging force of the urging member.

Abstract: An operating system of a liquefied natural gas ship for performing sub-cooled liquefaction of boil-off gas includes a boil-off gas compressor, a cryogenic heat exchanger connected to a refrigerator system, and a first check valve and a first pressure control valve, installed in a pipe between a liquefied natural gas phase separator and a gas combustion unit, and a second check valve and a second pressure control valve, installed in a parallel pipe connected to the pipe in parallel. The parallel pipe is connected to a pipe between the boil-off gas compressor and the cryogenic heat exchanger such that boil-off gas is supplied to an upper vapor region of the liquefied natural gas phase separator. Thus, pressure and level of the liquefied natural gas phase separator are stably controlled. Power consumption is effectively reduced, and economical efficiency is achieved by stable operating pressure and level of the liquefied natural gas phase separator.
