Publication number: 20080137855Abstract: A TCP 2003 is terminated in an intermediate driver 2006 within a gateway device 20, a TCP 3003 is terminated in an intermediate driver 3006 within a gateway device 30, and a frame is transferred between the intermediate drivers with a method not causing a congestion control such as a UDP. Besides, an SSL session is constructed between an SSL 2002 and an SSL 3002, and upon completing construction of the session, a public key and a secret key are sent by means of an Ethernet frame from a processing speed acceleration engine control to a processing speed acceleration engine. Thus, the gateway device transfers the frame not through a CPU but by employing the processing speed acceleration engine within an NIC in later communication between a terminal 21 and a server 31.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 23, 2006Publication date: June 12, 2008Applicant: NEC CorporationInventors: Nobuyuki Enomoto, Hideo Yoshimi, Youichi Hidaka

Publication number: 20080137856Abstract: Provided is a method for generating indirect trust binding between peers in a P2P network that allows communication and interaction between peers with trust even without an integrated processing server. In the method, a source peer transmits an initialization request message to a destination peer to receive a session identifier of the destination peer from the destination peer. The source peer arbitrarily selects a relay peer and then encrypts and generates indirect trust binding to the destination peer through the relay peer. The generation result of the indirect trust binding is analyzed, and trust of the destination peer is measured. The method allows the source peer to encrypt and generate the indirect trust binding to the destination peer even without a separate integrated processing server, and to be aware of trust of the destination peer.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2007Publication date: June 12, 2008Applicant: Electronics & Telecommunications Research InstituteInventors: Gu Ja Beom, Nah Jae Hoon, Jang Jong Soo

Publication number: 20080137857Abstract: A robust computational secret sharing scheme that provides for the efficient distribution and subsequent recovery of a private data is disclosed. A cryptographic key may be randomly generated and then shared using a secret sharing algorithm to generate a collection of key shares. The private data may be encrypted using the key, resulting in a ciphertext. The ciphertext may then be broken into ciphertext fragments using an Information Dispersal Algorithm. Each key share and a corresponding ciphertext fragment are provided as input to a committal method of a probabilistic commitment scheme, resulting in a committal value and a decommittal value. The share for the robust computational secret sharing scheme may be obtained by combining the key share, the ciphertext fragment, the decommittal value, and the vector of committal values.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 7, 2007Publication date: June 12, 2008Inventors: Mihir Bellare, Philip Rogaway

A stadium can have many speaker housings each including a speaker, the laser, and the inclinometer. Each speaker housing is mounted on, and remotely adjustable with respect to, an structural member as to general direction of sound emitted from the speaker housing into the area for stadium seating. The inclinometer's output can be rendered by a monitor seen by an audio engineer who also uses the laser beam's direction to make adjustments to the position of the speaker housing relative to its structural member.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 11, 2007Publication date: June 12, 2008Inventors: Marcus E. Publication number: 20080137895Abstract: A windguard for a microphone includes an acoustic inlet at a downstream end and at least one pressure-relief port upstream of the acoustic inlet The windguard has a base, a skirt depending from the base, and a first hood projecting from the base. The base and skirt provide space to accommodate the microphone. The first hood extends from an upstream end of the base to the downstream end and includes the acoustic inlet at the downstream end. The pressure-relief port(s) is located on the first hood at the upstream end and is protected by a second hood.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 12, 2006Publication date: June 12, 2008Applicant: GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATIONInventors: Jesse T. Publication number: 20080137896Abstract: A headset device capable of switching signal transmissions includes a headset plug and a switch unit. The headset plug includes a plurality of signal interfaces for transmitting a plurality of signals. The switch unit is coupled to the headset plug and is used for modifying an order in which the plurality of signal interfaces transmits the plurality of signals according to a control signal.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 11, 2007Publication date: June 12, 2008Inventor: Kuo-Ting Tsen

Publication number: 20080137897Abstract: A wireless earphone is retained in a user's ear by engaging a helix and includes a body from which an earphone plug extends and a speaker bar extending from the body. A spherical connection if formed between the body and the plug and is clamped by a resilient fork formed at a first end of a support rod. The support rod has a second end forming a helix engaging portion that is engageable with the helix. The support rod is rotatable about a center of the spherical connection to change distance and angle between the helix, engaging portion and the earphone plug, whereby when a user puts the helix engaging portion against the helix and move the body to fit the earphone plug into an auditory canal of the ear, the wireless earphone is stably retained on the ear.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2006Publication date: June 12, 2008Inventor: Serina Liu

Publication number: 20080137898Abstract: The invention is directed to audio enhanced thermal insulating hand protectors, such as decorative and non-decorative oven mitts or pot holders, which comprise a thermal insulating hand protector, audio playback circuitry integrated between internal layers of the thermal insulating hand protector, optional decorative theme-based design on the exterior of the hand protector, and theme-based audio playback segments that correspond to the optional decorative theme-based exterior of the hand protector. The theme may relate to any field of interest, such as birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine's Day, Christmas, etc. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the audio enhanced thermal insulated hand protector is a decorative oven mitt with audio playback segments that correspond to the visual decorative theme, and thereby enhance the experience of using thermal insulating hand protectors.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 8, 2006Publication date: June 12, 2008Inventor: Rochelle Nenner

Publication number: 20080137901Abstract: An electromagnetic transducer such as an audio loudspeaker, whose diaphragm assembly and motor both have a highly elongated shape in which the long dimension is at least 3× greater than the short dimension. The diaphragm may be obround, and the motor's magnetic air gap may comprise a pair of elongated, parallel, linear gaps. A novel “boxcar” device is used to hold the bobbin and voice coil in an obround shape, maintaining the parallel, linear shape of their elongated sides. The lower suspension may be disposed only at the ends of the motor, enabling the narrowest possible configuration.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 7, 2006Publication date: June 12, 2008Inventors: David J.
