  • Patent number: 7390157
Abstract: A man-machine! interface is disclosed which provides force, texture, pressure and temperature information to sensing body parts. The interface is comprised of a force-generating device (900) that produces a force which is transmitted to a force-applying device (902) via force-transmitting means (908). The force-applying device applies the generated force to a sensing body part A force sensor (909) associated with the force-applying device measures the actual force applied to the sensing body part, while angle sensors (9171 measure the angles of relevant joint body parts. A computing device (911) uses the joint body part position information to determine a desired force value to be applied to the sensing body part. The computing device combines the joint body part position information with the force sensor information to calculate the force command which is sent to the force-generating device.

At least some of the oxidant inlet section is spaced around substantially all of at least a portion of at least one of the fuel inlet, transitional, and outlet sections. The cross sectional flow area of the oxidant outlet section is less than or equal to the cross sectional flow area of the oxidant inlet section and is substantially uniform, and at least some of it is spaced around substantially all of at least a portion of the fuel outlet section.

  • Patent number: 7390190
Abstract: A combination of a flame arrestor with a reflection suppressor is provided which not only arrests an advancing flame front, but also suppresses or mitigates a reflection wave that is generated by a pressure wave that passes through the combination and continues on to a pipe restriction what generates a reflection wave that proceeds back to the combination. At the combination, the reflection suppressor suppresses and/or mitigates the reflection wave, thereby avoiding a heightened pressure in the combination that could cause a re-ignition and a new flame front and pressure front. The reflection suppressor has a tapered profile that permits a pressure wave to pass along and past the reflection suppressor as it leaves the combination but that impedes and mitigates a returning reflection wave produced by the pressure wave striking a pipe restriction and causing such a returning reflection wave.

Abstract: An electrical connector includes a connector body (2) having a top wall (220), a bottom wall (222). A terminal (1) has a base section (15) within the body to be moveable longitudinally relative to the body. A pair of spaced retention elements (18) is disposed longitudinally from the base section, and each adjacent the top wall or bottom wall. The retention elements are moveable together with the base section such that when the contact is moved downwards to be at a first position, one of the retention elements is urged to engage on the top wall, and when the contact is moved upwards to be at a second position, the other retention element is urged to engage on the bottom wall, thereby preventing the terminal from being removed during the longitudinal movement of the terminal relative to the body.
