Abstract: A light source unit (100A) for alignment is provided with a camera (30), a lighting apparatus (102), and furthermore, a changing section (110), an image processing section (112), an extracting section (114) and a setting section (116). The changing section (110) controls drive of a shifting mechanism (118) based on information from the setting section (116), and the lighting apparatus (102) is shifted to a desired position. The image processing section (112) acquires a quantitative data relating to an alignment mark (50) and contrast of its peripheral part (104), based on image pickup information from the camera (30). The extracting section (114) extracts an interval wherein the contrast is optimized as an optimum interval, based on the quantitative data. The setting section (116) gives information to the changing section (110) so that the interval between the lighting apparatus (102) and the alignment mark (50) is the optimum interval.

Abstract: A process step in fabricating a structure on a wafer in a wafer application having one or more process steps and one or more process parameters is controlled by determining a correlation between a set of profile models and one or more key profile shape variables. Each profile model is defined using a set of profile parameters to characterize the shape of the structure. Different sets of profile parameters define the profile models in the set. The one or more key profile shape variables include one or more profile parameters or one or more process parameters. One profile model is selected from the set of profile models based on the correlation and a value of at least one key profile shape variable of the process of the wafer application to be used in fabricating the structure. The structure is fabricated in a first fabrication process cluster using the process step and the value of the at least one key profile shape variable. A measured diffraction signal is obtained off the structure.

Abstract: An image apparatus for processing 3D images and a method for controlling thereof are provided. The apparatus includes: a display unit onto which data is scanned; and a display driver which makes left frame image data and right frame image data be alternately scanned onto the display unit and makes removal data for removing the left frame image data or the right frame image data be scanned onto the display unit between the left image frame data and the right image frame data. Therefore, while an image is being scanned, a residual image of the previous frame image is not displayed.

Abstract: A method and system for estimating color separation misregistration of a printing system. The method may include marking a substrate to form a misregistration estimation patch. The misregistration estimation patch being formed by first and second color separations. The first color separation marking the substrate with a first halftone pattern. The first halftone pattern has a first halftone-frequency vector in a first direction and a second halftone-frequency vector in a second direction. The second color separation marking the substrate with a second halftone pattern. The second halftone pattern has a first halftone-frequency vector in a first direction and a second halftone-frequency vector in a second direction. The first and second halftone patterns form a moiré pattern. A deviation in at least one the halftone frequency vectors and/or the moiré pattern can be indicative of a color separation misregistration.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed to align the write channel portion of a holographic data storage system. The method establishes a write threshold correlation factor, provides a reference beam, and illuminates a holographic data storage medium encoded with a write reference orientation image with the reference beam to generate a write channel alignment data beam comprising a projected write reference orientation image. The method projects the write channel alignment data beam onto an optical detector, and calculates a first write correlation factor using the projected write reference orientation image, a stored write reference orientation image, and the tangential matched filter. If the method determines that the first write correlation factor is greater than or equal to the write threshold correlation factor, then the method determines that the spatial write channel is properly aligned.
