The process includes the steps of forming or depositing a first insulator layer on a first substrate of semiconductor material; increasing roughness of the first insulator layer surface; depositing a second insulator layer on the roughened surface of the first insulator to form a trapping zone between the layers; bonding a second substrate onto the second insulator layer by molecular adhesion; and transferring an active layer formed by the implantation of atomic species into one of the substrates. The trapping zone is able to retain gaseous species present at the various interfaces of the hybrid substrate to limit the formation of defects on the surface of the active layer that is transferred.

Abstract: A method is provided for selectively marking a region of integrated circuit (IC). The method provides an IC die with a first region located on a backside surface of a bulk silicon (Si) layer. A semi-transparent film is formed overlying the bulk Si layer, semi-transparent to light having a first wavelength. The semi-transparent film is irradiated with light having the first wavelength in the range of 1 to 2 microns. In response to irradiating the semi-transparent film with a first power density, the IC die first region is located. Then, in response to irradiating the semi-transparent film with a second power density, greater than the first power density, a region of the semi-transparent film is marked overlying the IC die first region. In one aspect, a region of the bulk Si layer underlying the marked (or ablated away) semi-transparent film is selectively etched to expose the IC die first region.

Abstract: A terminal structure to be assembled in a terminal slot is integrally formed by pressing a metal plate having first and second surfaces. The terminal structure includes a fixing portion and an elastic arm. The first surface of the fixing portion is fixed in the slot and is wider. The arm is connected to the fixing portion. Over 70% of the first surface of the arm are disposed on the same plane and the first surface of the arm has a curved shape. The first surface of the arm is narrower than the first surface of the fixing portion. An angle smaller than 30 degrees is formed between the first surfaces of the arm and the fixing portion. A top end of the arm exceeds a top end of the fixing portion, and is formed with a movable contact.

Abstract: There is provided a boat (200) including a hull (20), and two engines (30, 50) couplable to rotationally drive mutually spaced separate corresponding propeller assemblies for providing thrusts. Directions of the thrusts are angularly adjustable (?1, ?2) relative to the hull (20). A control unit (70) receives first and second user commands (S1, S2) and sends corresponding signals for controlling powers (P1, P2) coupled from the engines (30, 50) to their propeller assemblies. The control unit (70) determines a difference in power (?P) to be coupled to the propeller assemblies as a function of the first and second user commands (S1, S2). The control unit (70) controls coupling of power (P1, P2) to the propeller assemblies so that the propeller assemblies develop a difference in thrust which is a function of the difference in power (?P).

Abstract: A propulsion unit control system is provided for a boat having plural propulsion units provided side by side and electrically connected in association with two adjacent operation levers. The control system synchronizes engine speeds of the respective propulsion units with each other based at least in part on the position of the two operation levers. The control system determines whether certain factors are satisfied before synchronizing engine speeds. The factors include, for example, whether a deviation in angular position between the two operation levers is within a prescribed range. Another factor is whether a deviation between the throttle opening of a reference propulsion unit and a propulsion unit to be synchronized equal to or less than a prescribed value. If the respective deviations are equal to or smaller than a relevant prescribed value, the engine speeds of the respective propulsion units are controlled for synchronization with each other.

The composition may further comprise a blowing agent. A coated fabric comprises a textile substrate and a biodegradable coating at least partially coating the textile substrate, wherein the biodegradable coating degrades at least 60% after 28 days under the ASTM D584 standard. A method of making a biodegradable coating comprises providing a polymer and blending a biodegradable plasticizer with the polymer to form a blend. A method of making a coated textile comprises providing a textile and a composition comprising a polymer, a biodegradable plasticizer, and at least one other component; applying the composition to the textile; and curing the composition, thereby making a coated textile.

Abstract: An inexpensive fluorescent object is provided which may be used, for example, as a test object for color adjustment of a fluorescent endoscope system. The fluorescent object generates fluorescence while minimizing the generation of ‘noise’ at undesired wavelengths, and is made using a plastic that substantially does not deteriorate upon exposure to U.V. and visible radiation. A method of producing the fluorescent object is disclosed, namely, a plastic powder (such as PTFE) and an inorganic fluorescent powder (such as Mn-doped ZnS) are blended so as to form a mixture of these components, and the mixture is then molded by applying pressure to the mixture. An important feature of the invention is that heat is not added during any phase in the production of the fluorescent object, thereby preventing the inorganic fluorescent powder from being denatured when producing the fluorescent object.
